How high should the dog food bowl be if you have a Norwegian Elkhound?
I just completed a raised dog bowl stand for my Norwegian Elkhound. He's 12 years old and doesn't swallow his water properly all of the time. I made his food & water bowls about 9" high to the rim. I've seen them as high as 15", but my hound is a bit short.
What would cause a rooster to loose his balance and die in about 10 days?
I had a rooster that all of a sudden lost his balance, but he did not die, I knew that when one rooster is injured that other roosters will attack him if not separated. I separated him from the other roosters for abouta week, he was better within 5 days, had regained his balance. Like I said I don't know WHY he got unbalanced to begin with, but hopefully if you have this happen again you know now to try to separate him, and maybe he'll pull through.

How do you fix underground electric pet fencing?
Use a waterproof insulator once you find the break. I used a butt splice with heat shrink tubing. To find the break, see this link. It worked for me once I found the right frequency of the fence after installing the RF Choke. http://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_find_a_break_in_an_invisible_dog_fence/

What does glucosamine do for you?
Oral glucosamine is commonly used for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Since glucosamine is a precursor for glycosaminoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans are a major component of joint cartilage, supplemental glucosamine may help to rebuild cartilage and treat arthritis. Its use as a therapy for osteoarthritis appears safe, but there is conflicting evidence as to its effectiveness. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial found glucosamine sulfate is no better than placebo in reducing the symptoms or progression of hip osteoarthritis.
There are two main types of glucosamine, Glucosamine Sulfate and Glucosamine hydrochloride. In a placebo controlled trials of Knee pain the Glucosamine Hydrochloride failed to show superority over placebo (GAIT) but a similar trial of the Glucoasmine Sulfate showed superiority over placebo and paracetamol in the control of pain.
