There are many disadvantages. First, there is an entire field of "journalism" that is founded on following you around and sharing information about you, and the worse it makes you look, the more likely it is to be printed. Second, you are expected to be perfect - perfect weight, perfect style, perfect diet, perfect everything. When you aren't, you are often ripped apart by the same people that were idolizing you just the day before. Third, there is no reasonably expectation of privacy for a celebrity any more, unless you live in a prison of your own making and don't ever leave. Fourth, if there is no real information or any "good" photos (as defined by the people who are sharing the gossip and speculation), there are several magazines that will quite happily make it up and share that as "information" about you. Fifth, it is very hard to know who is a true friend and who is pretending to be friends with you just because you are famous, or rich, or connected, or whatever.
