Where to find and how to replace a DPFE sensor on a Taurus - Sable?
Please note: one of the two hoses connected to the DPFE is a pressure sensor line that reads the variation in the exhaust pressure. This line is made of expensive, silicone to resist the high temperatures assosiated with exhaust. You'll notice it has much thicker walls than a vacuum line. This hose is often cracked, broken or burned through and repair or replacement can often cure the problem.
What does it look like...
The DPFE sensor then is mounted to a plate on the top right on the back of the engine.
It is below the Throttle body and above the transmission dipstick height.
I have the same engine, but if found my DPFE sensor mounted horizontally and supported by only the two vacum hoses it attaches too. you need to look carefully or you will miss it. Look about center of the engine between the intake manifold and the firewall, it is mounted with the vacum hoses pointing down and the power conector is towards the manifold ( it is below the level of the manifold so look from the passenger side of the car towards the firewall). Be PATIENT!!
Hope this helps you guys.
Where to find it on the 12v Vulcan engine
Removing the UIM might be overkill, but having done it to change sparkplugs, I can say it's really not that big an effort. Disclaimer: I haven't changed a DPFE, so I'm somewhat speculating about access being difficult - just observing what it looks like ;))
It is behind the upper intake between the intake and the firewall. Hard to get to without removing the upper intake. Remove the eight 8MM bolts holding down the upper intake, loosen the hose clamp connecting the intake tube to the throttle body, and unbolt the EGR valve. Then move the upper intake out of the way while disconnecting the 3 vacuum lines under and to the rear of the intake near the throttle body. Answer The DPFE sensor is located below the throttle body and intake plenum, near the fire wall on the back side of the engine. It will have two places for vacuum hose connection. both pointing downward and a electrical connector on it's face pointing towards the drivers side of the car. Answer There is actually 2 different V6 3.0 liter engines. One is a 12 valve and one is a 24 valve. On the 12 valve the dpfe is behind the upper intake manifold, between the engine and firewall close to the middle of the car. On the 24 valve it is down below the throttle body area, almost completely hidden by hoses and wires and stuff. Look right below where the air snorkel attaches to the throttle body, toward the friewall slightly. It's down in that area on the 24 valve engine.
.
Remove the hoses. Unclip the electrical connector. Remove the bolts that hold it in place. Reverse to install the new one.
Answer - 1998 DOHC EGR valve should be front of intake just behind throttle body. 2 bolts and 2 nuts hold it on, it'll have a green, plastic vacuum line going to its top. DPFE Sensor will be firewall side of engine, will have a 3 wire connector to it and 2 reinforced vacuum lines at its bottom.
Answer Depending on which engine you have, the DPFE is usually mounted to the upper intake manifold. It's a rectangular box. On the 24 valve engine, it's tucked away under the passenger side of the manifold. You will have to remove the cowling near the cabin air filter to get access to it.
The fault code P0404 means " Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Circuit Range/Performance".

What does code 32 on a 1988 Ford f150 mean?
Code 32 means EGR valve not seated (PFE) or EVP voltage out of static limit
How do you replace or clean an EGR valve?
The EGR valve is normally connected to the exhaust manifold. The EGR valve works by routing a small amount of the exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber. This helps reduce emissions of noxious gases to the atmosphere.
You could try removing the EGR and then try to clean it inside with a rubber-friendly cleaner that is strong enough to break down carbon build up. Ask a car parts and accessories store for advice about the right type of stuff to use.
Just an added note. I had a 1993 Honda Accord that was running very rough from 800 to 2500 RPM's. Almost like it was misfiring. The technician said the EGR valve was very dirty with evidence of carbon build-up. The problem continued after the EGR was cleaned and I had to clean out the 6 EGR ports. They had port access caps that had to be drilled out (on a Honda accord). The symptoms and repair were from the manufacturer's service bulletin. They are coat hanger size ports and were very clogged and the car runs great since cleaning the ports. I believe most cars have EGR ports tied to the EGR system. They tie the exhaust to intake airflow manifold for recirculation.
DPFE sensor ford has tons of them stocked
Where is the EGR valve located on a 1999 Mazda B2500?

Where is egr valve 2003 Mazda Protege?
It should be underneath the throttle body on the back of the intake manifold
Well, deleting the EGR system is more or less associated with people trying to clean up their engine bays for a "simplier" look. In my experience, no horsepower gains are attributed to the removal of the EGR system. Of course, each automobile will react differently, but a majority of them will not be affected one way or another. Don't get caught removing an EGR system in certain states that require the system for Emissions Testing.
Where is the EGR valve located on a 98 Honda Accord?
On a V6 it is at the front, just right of center on top of the intake maifold port and under the black plastic cover that is held on by two plastic screws. The EGR is bolted to the manifold with two nuts and has wires clipped to the top. Very easy to take off. You can shove a bottle brush down the port to the exhaust to clean it out as a temporary fix for the Check engine light caused by EGR insufficient flow OBDII code P0401. Then drive and the Check engine light will eventualy go out, only to come back at a later date. I have done it 3 times in 6,000 miles. I just saw a post that Honda now covers this under warranty to 150,000 miles. I am going there tomorrow to check.
I'm having the exact same problem with a '91 I just bought. According to the dealer, the previous owner had the problem for years with no other transmission issues. I have this problem starting at around 40 mph, and can't take the car over 60 at all.
Where are O2 sensors located on 1999 Chevy Tracker?
There are 2 sensors. One in front of the catalytic converter and one behind it.
Which engine is the 2000 ford focus se zetech engine dohc or you need to replace the egr valve?
how do i replace the pvc vacuum hoses?
Why is your check engine light still on if you already cleaned the EGR valve and the vacuum works?
The "Check Engine" light is a diagnostic indicator showing that the On Board Diagnostic computer has detected a problem and has saved the trouble code. You can get the trouble code from the OBD system using a special computer attachment. Most auto parts stores will get the trouble code for you for free (and be happy to sell you the part that would need to be replaced.) Check the trouble code to insure that it is referring to a flow issue. If the electrical system is at fault, consult your service manual for the proper test.
Where is the PCV valve on a 2002 Chevy S-10 Pickup?

Where is the EGR valve located on a 2000 Nissan Maxima and how do you clean it?
Driver side, under the intake , on the side of the engine block well hidden, there is apparatus with block plastic body round 2" in diameter with a alumium bottom and two hoses coming out of it mounted with 2 bolts .It Should said 14710-4L600 or 4L601 is the EGR valve. Nissan part #14710-4L601 replaces 4L600 but its the same. If you can get to the internet the generic parts no. should be B7010-185376 just do a search and you will see it. I was told cleaning will not be a good idea and need to be replaced if it mal-functions.

Where is the ERG valve in a 01 Kia Rio?
You mean the egr valve? Rios have precise timing with lower compression no need for an egr vale.
What causes a 350 Chevy engine to backfire under load?
Cross-firing due to bad sparkplug wires (if so equipped), a bad distributor cap (if so equipped), too lean a mixture causing pre-ignition, vacuum leaks, too much spark-advance causing pre-ignition, overheating, insufficient octane in the fuel (if high-compression 350).
