How do you fix broken rear power windows in a 1994 Ford Mustang?
The motors can be rebuilt very easily. There are three nylon cylinders that replace the old ones for $9.99. I get mine from Blue Oval Corral in Clearwater Florida. Remove the old motor and open the case and you will notice that the old cylinders are chewed up and floating around in the grease. Remove the old pieces and insert the new ones. This is difficult the first time you do it but gets easier. I have rebuilt all the window motors in 8 different Mustang Convertibles that I have owned including my current one which is a 1994. You must remove the back seat, trim panel, Mach 460 Sub wooferbox( if so equipped) and this will give you access to the window motor. You will save yourself over $200.00 in parts and labor if you are able to do this on your own. Directons are available at some websites that include light bar installation information on how to get the rear seat out and remove the speaker box.
How do you replace power window motor on 1999 Chevy Tahoe?
Assuming that the scissor assembly is functional and the motor has quit working you may purchase a replacement motor only. The motor is attached to the scissor assembly with rivets but you can substitute with specialty flat headed furniture bolts and lock nuts purchased at a home improvement store. Most important: Do not purchase a cheap motor from a discount mail order auto supplier. You get what you pay for. I went through two in less than a week's time before I bit the bullet and purchased one from the dealer. It cost twice as much but was made of all metal rather than plastic. The window is too heavy to raise and lower with cheap plastic parts.
First, you must remove the plastic door panel by removing two screws in the door rest then pulling out on the rest of the door. Be sure to pull out the small lamp from the red/white reflector assembly. You may damage some of the plastic fasteners ( which can be purchased at an automotve supply store). Next, disconnect all the wires from the switch assembly not forgetting the power door lock. Then remove the inside door handle and lock lever, disconnecting the rods from the backside. Then remove the metal inner door panel by sliding the panel so that the two idler wheels riding in the window channel come out.
The motor and scissor assembly are riveted to this door panel so you will have to drill out these rivets. You can purchase replacement rivets at an auto parts store (which require a heavy duty pop riveter to install) or do what I did and replace with 5/16" bolts and nuts.
Be sure and test the assembly before you bolt everything back together.

Which fuse do you change in a 1988 Toyota 4Runner if the rear window will not roll down or up?
first thing to see if its a fuse is push the button and if you hear a click on the driver side right behind the drivers seat, if you hear them click then its something to do with the motor or harness.
Also a problem i had when i first picked up my 88 4runner was i guess it would be the coil, the thing with the black cover on the window motor assembly, the cover had come loose and was stuck to the coil so i just replaced the cover and everything was cool, most recently a problem that i still haven't fixed is the harness is caught somewhere so it will get stretched out causes a break somewhere along the line when i move the window up or down, so to get that to go up and down i have to pull on the harness, which is on the driver side right up in the rear corner, which gets it back to the right place and sometimes i need somebody else to push the button inside while i move it around to the right place, i love toyotas.
The fuse box is labeled what each one is for. Look for windows or doors. If you find it and change the fuse but the window still doesn't work then you probably need to change the power window motor inside the door panel. There is also a fuse box under the hood that you can check but more than likely it will be the fuse box inside the car. Good luck, Jean
First make sure that the "child lock" safety button is not depressed on the drivers armrest. This locks the window in the rear doors and the tailgate window. I thought my tailgate window was stuck untuil I found that the rear windows were also not working.
It might not be a fuse at all. if the top is removed make sure to replace all the bolts, or at least look on the drivers side behind the side panels where the top bolts secure it. there is a pin switch which needs to be tripped by securing the top bolts when replacing the top. if the correct bolt is not replaced the window will not operate in any direction. I bought my '88 4runner being told the motor was bad and all it was was the top replaced with onlt a few bolts and this one was missed. It is the bolt right next to the roll bar on the driverside
more infothe rear window control panel is inside the tailgate just behind the left-rear quarter panel, remove the various bits of trim including i think the overhead rear light console and the leftrear tool pocket, in fact the control unit is just rearward of this tool pocket. Anyway there are two relays in there which are big culprits in the misfiring of the rear window. They can be sourced but that takes hours of googling. Also a help is to lubricate the window runners by dropping the tailgate and removing the trim panel. To get at the runners you need to lift the window which is something you cant normally do with the door down. Fool the system by clicking the 2 latches manually and then have someone support the glass as it comes out when the button is pressed to close the window. now clean and then lube (using PTFE grease ideally if poss) the window runners and also the various moving parts of the window regulator. The poor rear window problem is never only down to one reason, its either stripped teeth in the motor, dirt and dust in the runners, dirty glass, badly seated/sealing rubbers, generally old and failing wiring, failing contact points, failing relays in the control unit and one which is the cheapest fix of all - the window lock button beside the gearstick may have been pressed by your kids! HeadlineI recently had the same problem. After checking all of the above, I took the car to the dealer who found that the switch in the tailgate was bad. Fortunately this is a relatively cheap part, but difficult to get to if the window in broken in the down position. Also, if you have a rear wiper, there is an interface built in to the circuit that tells the wiper that the window is up and allows the wiper to work and window NOT to go down. Shake the wiper and force it to the home position (rest) while some one is actuating the switch. How do you fix the lift wire for the power window on a 1993 Ford E150?
I believe that your model has a lifting lever, and not a lift wire. You have to replace the regulator assembly to fix this system. There is a possibility that a nylon slide may have become disconnected. When you replace the regulator assembly, be advised that you will have to drill out some rivets and replace them with bolts when you re-assemble the system. This will be a big project, if you decide to do it yourself. Contact us for more information on the full procedure befory attempting it yourself.
So this is what I have found out so far. I have a 1999 Pontiac TransAm with the WS6 package. My windows are currently not functioning and neither does my aftermarket radio. First check the ignition switch, if you are lucky then that will be the issue. If that is not it, check the BCM, next to the Glove Box, vertically mounted. I already had the Ignition switch changed, but now the Body Control Module (allows the windows to function and the radio to work after you turn off the car) has a short and needs to be replaced. With Pontiac being shutdown, you need to fix this fast.
Is there a way to tell if the power window switch is bad or if it the motor for the switch?
remove switch from where it is mounted
using a wire , bridge the connections.if switch is bad, it will work the motor while bridged
How do you convert power windows to manual windows?
go to a "boneyard" (junk yard) ask for the manual window hardware for the same make, year, and model of car, including the "armrest" window control replacement... then "rip out" the old electric window stuff and replace it with the manual parts....
you can also possible order new parts from the auto manufacturer ...
other than that, I'm not sure a conversion exists .. without alot of custom made hardware involved... which would probably cost alot of money
but for a model car that's 5 years old or more, i would consider my method of replacement..
you may be able to "RESELL" the electic parts to re-coup your cost of the manual parts.. possibly a "break-even" situation... so "rip-out" your old electric parts very carefully...
maybe a body shop would do the thing for you for a reasonable cost
How do you change a driver side mirror on a 2000 Chrysler cirrus lxi?
Ok so you want to take the door panles off, heres what youll need:Philips screwdriver size 1 or 2torx sizr 15 or 20 (the 15 works but the 20 fits better)knifesomthing to pry wiht i used a fkat screwdriver
front doors:
Ok these are the harder of the pair, there are 9 screws in all.
start by removing the two covers, one behind the handle and one in the little cup thing. now pop off the speaker grill, i found prying on the flat side by the door hinge worked well, it takes a little force but not much. now then, you have acesst omost of the screws. Take the Philips screwdriver and start undoing them, heres the list
1 in the upper handle1 in the little cup thing1 on the door frame near the top on the hinge side3 to get the speaker oput (you may want to put these aside seeing as they are dif from the rest)3 recessed behind the speaker
Ok now before you go and start ripping it apart! when you take the speaker out make sure to unplug it and set it asside so it don't get ruined.
so now the speaker is safe the grill and screws are removed and put somplace safe pull on the door a little, i found it easiest to start on the car side of the door and give it a tug, be firm but not to aggressive iwht it its only held on b small little clips at this point (which you can ask a few of our members are expensive) now then assuming you get them all off, on the front doors theres a trip peice over the lock take it off, i found it easier to pull the panle off wit hte door locked but whatever your prefrence is. Theres a rod holding the handle to the door, remove it and be gentle here as well it pops out fro mthe clip then the end comes up out of the hole. now just undo all your electricals and your all set, you will prob need the knife to cut some of the insulation away so that the wires can stay on the door. there is one spot if oyu have power locks that the wire is attached to the door panle, that's where the torx comes in just undo it and you should be all set
Back doors
These are the easy ones. toolsphilips screwdriversomthing to take those pesky little covers off with
ok two screws only this time, one behind the handle on in the cup thing. Pop the covers off take the screws out. Now pull on the door a bit, i found it easiest to start on the corner away form the car this time and pull on it, poped right off, disconnect any electronics and that little rod again and your good to go

Repair a power window motor on a 2000 Chevrolet Impala?
I went to eBay and purchased a new motor and installed it myself. Just take the two screws loose in the door handle and pull up. The window motor just snaps into the door handle. Unplug the old motor, plug in the new one, and put everything back together. It only took about 5 minutes.
This procedure is for the power window and window lock master switch.

How do you fix power windows on a 1999 Sonata?
you have to be a bit more specific on what you mean by "fix"...... what exactly is the window doing, or not doing for that matter.... there are a few things that could make a window stop working like your window motor or your regulator, but it could also be something extremely small like your master switch on the door....elaborate more for an accurate answer
Power windows need help to go up down?
This usually is caused by the screws/bolts which hold them in place becoming loose and the stesses of window movement push the guide tracks out of alignment.
To repair this problem requires that the door inner trim panel be removed for access to the interior of the door and that the guide channels be properly realigned and the mounting screws or bolts be well tightened to reduce the chance of recurrence.
When I perform this repair procedure, added security, I install a "lock washer" [either a 'split' lock washer or a 'star' type lock washer] beneath each threaded fastener.
Windshield wipers don't work on Chevy?
First, check out the fuses. If any are broken, replace them. If that doesn't help, check the condition of the knob in dashboard. If that is okay, check the motor. (Just connect it to 12+ volts.) If all of that is okay you probably have to get a new electronic module from delco.
Power window on driver side quit working How do you fix it?
Test according to the procedure in this article.

If the window motor is getting power, replace the regulator assembly.
If it's not getting power, you've got a broken wire--most often in the hinge area of the door.
Or, you've got a bad master switch
