Here is the deal. Easy to complex. 1. The EGR vale may be faulty"pluged up". The EGR hose and or the orfice that it connects to may be pluged up with carbon. This is common on engines that burn some oil. Disassemble and clean hose and orfice. Replace the PCV vale. 2. A blown headgasket can put pressure into the engine.It does this by letting cylender pressure vent into the crank case. Its too much for the PCV to vent so the engine ends up pressurized. 3.Bad rings can cause a pressurized crank case. what happens here is that the combustion gas passed by the worn out rings and ends up in the crank case. As you can see, if its not a PCV vale problem the repairs will cost some real money. Sometimes it better to just go and get a good used engine to relace a sick one.

to my knowledge 1980 Chevy v8 engines didn't have ignition points, and dwell settings are for points.

Remove rear bumper, remove the side bumperettes, Remove chrome trim piece, remove lower valence (number of screws), remove trunk panel on the side of the trunk, loosen the hoses and the bolts, remove the 4 screws and vapor hose to the filler neck, twist and pull up to remove, remove the line from the tank into the trunk, remove the round access panel behind the wheel and remove the hoses there. And I think that is all of it, the tank rotates down and out. Need the car about 3 feet off the ground. Install is the reverse.

Mine is on the passenger side, in the cabin, just above where the floormat touches the firewall. There is also a reset switch on it. The unit turns itself off in case of rollover or collision. See Owners Manual if you have one.

I took the bed off (held on by 6 nuts), and then removed the gas tank, which is held on by 6 nuts). Was pretty simple actually. Was able to remove the pump and clean the tank thoroughly.

It's right behind the seats, in front of the trunk compartment, right under the rear deck (where the convertible top folds down).

You hav to remove the glovebox, the cover below the glovebox, and the console below the radio. This is quite ajob. after you remove all those panels you can see it and their will be ducts and a bunck of other stuff to remove. It is easier to remove these than most vehicles. You don have to remove the dash on these vehicles.

You can make it fit and someone told me a 94 3.8L engine will bolt up to a transmission out of a fox body Mustang. If you drop the 94 3.8L engine in it, you will need to buy new motor mounts just in case the other ones are rusted. Also, maybe the computer out of the 94 Mustang also.

I have 27 inch BF Goodrich All Terrain tires on my 88 Bronco2, and This seems to be the largest tire you can install without a body or suspension lift. I experience some rubbing on the steering arms if I turn the steering wheel to the extreme ends of the range, example, during parking. Be aware that installing tires this large puts extra strain on the engine, suspension, and drivetrain, and will reduce the maximum speed, as well as fuel mileage. Answer: I am running 31x10.50x15s on my '84 Bronco ll. Any bigger and you would need some kind of lift. Bigger tires do effect your speedometer and odometer. My speedo reads 5 mph slow(55=60) and when my oddometer reads 1 mile I have actually gone 1.1 miles.

The firing order is : 1-4-2-5-3-6

A 350 will easily fit but you could install a larger engine with major modifications. Stick with a 350 which was the optional engine in Firebirds. You will have to change the ECU also, so a donor car would be the easiest. If I were in your shoes, I would sell this Firebird and purchase one with a 350 already installed. You would be money ahead in the long run.

yes it will, you will need to change some of the wiring. but it will bolt right up.

Answer 2: if your gonna do a motor swap on a tercel you should def go for the 5 and not the 4. the 92 prolly has that 3ee in it... the 4 is a nice swap but it has problems. the 5 is a better swap because when they made it they had the 4 idea but mixed it witha little bit of the 3ee and there for fixed the problems that the 4 had making the 5 a much better motor to swap... i recomend that if anyone does a swap they should go for the 5....

you can use a saw zaw or circular saw to remove it that's what i used on my 88

Have you checked your rad.In some cases the transmission has known to leak into the rad through the trasmission cooler built in the rad.In other cases your seal at the driveshaft might be leaking.

probably the sending unit in the gas tank attached to the fuel pump module is not working. you will need to most likely order fuel pump w/ sending unit Answer: The float is made of brass and over time they leak and sink causing the fuel gauge to read empty. The '84-'85 Bll 2.8L did not have a fuel pump in the tank.

This is a very hard job! Its take 8 hours for someone that has done many of them! You should buy a repair manual, the best one is made by Haynes for about $20

blue smoke coming out of tail pipe means that your engine oil is getting into your cylinders and in the combustion proses it is mixing with your air to fuel ratio which mean your burning oil in your cylinder. oil can get in your cylinder this most frequently from a leaky seal or gasket.
