How do you remove the spare of a 1999 ford explorer sport?
Lift the carpet in the cargo area and u will see 2 long rods. connect those and take the jack rod out of the compartment on the left side of your cargo area, and if u look in the middle of ur explorer right under where the rear hatch door closes u will see a hole. insert the rod into that hole and turn to u lock in and turn either direction until u notice the spare lowering. crank it a couple more time once the spare is on the ground so u have enough space to lift the tire up off of the guide wire. Revers the steps to raise the tire back up into place. hope all goes well

Start by replacing all the plugs and plug wires. If you still have a miss, it can be a bad injector or low compression on that cylinder, which may mean a burnt valve or bad rings. as an add-on to the previous post, there are a few cheaper methods of checking your ignition electrical system. first would be to start the car at night and look under the hood at the wires, plug boots and if you can see it, the ignition coil. DO NOT TOUCH THE WIRES! if there is any kind of problem with these components, such as insulation failure, cuts, breaks or abrasions in plug wires, you may see some arcing and sparking. if you see this, the spark is going somewhere other than the plug and not causing ignition. IF YOU TOUCH THIS, THE VOLTAGE (UP TO 30,000 VOLTS IN A PROPERLY OPERATING SYSTEM) CAN END UP HITTING YOU! another cheap way to test for spark is a spark tester. you can usually pick them up from your local auto parts store (i know checkers/kragen/advance auto parts carries them). to use this, pull each wire from its plug one by one, connect it to the tester just like you would a plug, ground the tester to a bolt or other bare metal, and turn over the starter, if it's operating properly, you should see sparking from the tester electrode to the grounded housing. if they all work, your problem is elsewhere. Don't rule-out your coil. One of mine went out,it only showed #2 cylinder misfire. On another z24, #2 misfire was caused by a cloging fuel injector.
My 2001 Sport Trac was doing the same thing. With the tilt wheel in the full "up" position, everything worked fine. But move the wheel down even one click, and the left blinkers didn't work. My problem was with the wiring harness inside the steering column. Had Ford replace it and no problems.
I answered my own question- I hope this helps someone else.
I changed the Combination Turn and Hazard switch in the column ($57.00 from Ford) and it fixed the problem. Easy job- didnt have to remove the steering wheel. Just the torx screws for the column covers and two hold down screws. Bobby
Where do you put the transmission fluid on a 2008 Sport Trac?
In the transmission.......
On '07's and '08's, Ford removed the dip stick in the engine compartment. There is a fill plug usually located on the front right side of the transmission. Under this plug is a short dipstick which is attached to the bottom of the plug.

How to reset the need service code for a 2005 E320cdi after an oil change?
I have a 2002 E320. The procedure is given in the owners manual. The 2003 may also have it in its manual. I have a 2000 E320 and found the procedure in my owners manual under FSS (Flexible Service Schedule) However, my instructions said to place the ignition key in position #1, which did not work. I had to place the key in position #2 for the reset procedure to work.

How do you change the tail light on a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac?
I recently had to change a tail light in my own 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and was disheartened to discover that the owner's manual did not provide the correct instructions. The procedure described in the manual actually applies to the Ford Explorer or Ford Explorer Sport, but not the Sport Trac. There is a secondary question in play here, which is implied by the primary question posted above. Before changing the bulb, you must answer the question, "How do I remove the lamp assembly and access the bulb?" Again, remember that the owner's manual does not correctly address this issue. The answer that follows will describe how to access the bulb and subsequently change it. First, lower the tailgate and look not at the lamp assembly, but rather at the truck body on the inside, where the tail gate would be when closed. When you do so, you will notice three small, round, rubber plugs which have a recessed center. One is up high, another in the middle, and the third at the bottom. Your attention will be drawn to the recessed center - you may be looking for a screw or some way to pop out the center. Instead, remove the entire plug from it's hole. You may need to carefully insert a flat-head screwdriver under the edge to pry it loose, but I was able to remove all of mine using only my fingers. Once you have removed the plugs, you will see a screw. My vehicle had the type of screw that requires a small wrench rather than a screwdriver - your Explorer may use something else, but be prepared either way. Remove the three screws and the lamp assembly should come right off. Grasp the base (actually the socket) of the bulb, turn it about 1/4 turn (counterclockwise) and remove it from the lamp assembly. Then carefully pull the bulb straight out of the socket. Next insert the new bulb by first placing it into the socket and then returning the socket to the lamp assembly - don't forget to lock the socket into place by turning it about 1/4 turn (clockwise). Then return the lamp assembly to it's correct position on the truck and secure by replacing the three screws and pushing the rubber plugs back into place.

How do you switch a 1986 Ford F150 4x4 into four wheel drive?
Do you mean how to turn a 1986 2x4 into a 4x4? If that's the question, i would just go out and buy a 4x4. It can be done but it would take a lot of time and money. You would need a new transmission, transfer case, front axle, and new radias arm mounts.
I believe what you need to do is put the tranny in park or neutral first. then shift into either 4 hi or 4 lo
The problem could be in you flasher located on the fuse block . or the multifunction switch located on the steering column.
if it is a sohc you have two connectors, the small two wire one is power in, the 6 pin connectore controls the power transister.colors of wires would not really be important unless harness cut or something.looked on schematic too does not shoe colors of wires. sorry.
Try locking and unlocking the doors with the key, then starting it.
The procedure for resetting the pats is to insert the key in the door and turn it left then right, removing the battery should not affect the anti theft unless there is a problem with the pats and now the computer has forgotten the code associated with your key. Try your spare key first, that way you will know if the key is the problem, If your anti theft light blinks all the time even when driving the pats is bad and you will have to get it looked at, at the very least you might need to get your key reprogrammed. The anti theft light under normal conditions will come on steady for 3 seconds when the key is turned on, if there is a problem with the system it will flash, and also when operating normally it will blip when key is off as a warning to potential thieves.
To permanently disable the anti theft Pats ( passive anti theft system ) locate the Green/purple wire in the driver side kick panel and permanently ground it to metal.
What is the color scheme of the audio wiring harness for a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro?
what is color scheme?
I had the same problem. Talking to Ford was no help, so I took the bottom cover of the steering column and had a look. It seems to be the turn indicator switch. Without taking anything apart try tilting the steering down, depress the brake and pull back on your turn signal lever. If your brake lights come on it's the same problem I had. Mines working again, all the pushing and prying I did must have done something. I don't think it's a permanent fix as I am the second owner and it appears that the steering column covers have been off before. Hope this helps, Mike.
I had same problem- no brake lights, blinkers and hazards when tilt column was lowered- but ok with column in up position. I changed the Combination Turn and Hazard switch in the column ($57.00 from Ford) and it fixed the problem. Easy job- didnt have to remove the steering wheel. Just the torx screws for the column covers and two hold down screws. Bobby
