( # 17 ) is a 25 amp mini fuse for the ( cigarette lighter ) in a 2000 Ford Explorer

Check the dash to see if a "Door open" indicator is illuminated. if this is the case, then check all your doors and ensure they are all closed properly. If the interior light still doesn't turn off, your door switch may be stuck in the open position. To check which door is in the open position, turn the key to the on position, then open a door. Doors that are working properly will operate the chime upon opening the door. The door open switch is located in the door latch assembly, Lubricate the door latch with spray Lithium grease and actuate it repeatedly while applying lubricant frequently. If it still refuses to turn off, your door switch might have become faulty and may require replacement.

Depending on the age of the car I would call or visit either a) (New) the dealer, b) (3-5years old) the manufacturer-specific wrecking yard, or c) (ancient) the local pull-it yourself wrecking yard.

I would buy whatever parts they recommended, and then take apart the whole thing and fix it.

A Haynes (or equivalent) repair manual for your car (about $20 at the local auto parts stoor ) is a good starting point.

2002 Saturn SL2 or SL1 or other similar years

Remove the black sheet metal screw on the passenger side of the rubber boot on the brake handle assembly. Wiggle the entire plastic handle and boot off the brake handle. The button is about 1" x 1" x 3/8". It is tapped with a #10 x 24 thread and screwed onto the operating rod. The spring that locks the button fits onto the threaded rod and operates by pushing the button out to lock the handle in position.

I was able to repair the stripped button with epoxy. First you must take the tension off the spring by compressing the spring and tying it with very thin wire or fishing line. Slip the spring onto the rod and slip it into the notch in the stamped metal handle. Glue the button back on. Make sure it is aligned properly. Now wait 24 hours or so for the epoxy to set-up and harden. Don't forget to put a rag under the epoxy to catch any drips. After the exopy is hard, snip off the wire compressing the locking spring and pull out the bits with needlenose pliers. Reinstall the boot and reinstall the screw.

You have just saved about 380 bucks based on NYC dealer prices for parts & labor.

I am afraid that is impossible, since an Explorer doesn't have a timing belt. It uses an internal timing chain, which you don't service, unless it breaks or is rattling. Are you talking about the accessory drive(fan) belt? If so, there is a spring loaded tensioner that you use a socket wrech to pivot out of the way and remove tension from the belt and change the belt.

There is a way to run it on the drivers side i did just the other day with out drilling. Its back behind the brake, it is where the cable to release the hood what you have to do is pull out the rubber plug and slide the power cord though and then puch the plug back in. This is the easiest way to do it because it brings you on the same side of the battery

it could be a combination of things like a blown fuse or a bad bulb or your brake switch on the top of your brake pedal could be bad, check and replace if you have to.

When your service air bag light comes on and you have never been in a wreck, this is usually a good indicator of a wire issue. The number one reason for a service air bag light, without a wreck, is that the wire needs to be repaired.

yes it will start, however it will not run. It will quickly overheat due to loss of coolent. Running a engine with a blown head gasket will cause all types of other issues as well. Water in the oil will quickly cause damage to the main/rod bearrings and can damage all internal parts.

I dont exactly know what is wrong but mine is a '95 Cavalier Coupe and it says i have full tank of gas(all of the time) and i got some advice (not sure if its good) check your manuel and it may be a fuse or something with the wiring near your fuel tank underneath the car(should be an easy fix)

i had the same problem...turned out the hazard flashers button on top of steering column was in the wrong position ! ...talk about simplr..hope it works for you

take the back off the rear chunk..... it has an 8 mm bolt thru a solid steel bar....remove the bolt and slide the bar out of the chunk......you will have to rotate the axles to get it in position to come out.....once the solid bar is out (it is about 1 inch round) push in on the axles a half moon washer will fall out it is a lock ring holding the axle in. same on both sides reverse process to reassemble .............once you have the tires and brake drums/rotors off it takes about 15 minutes

I found a great mechanic in the area and within 2 hrs and 70.00 dollars later he found there is a screw in switch up and behind the brake pedal with a "plunger type of mechanism" which over time the cruise control cut-off switch managed to "unscrew itself" which caused the cruise control not to engage. You don't. Take it to a dealer. It is dangerous to work on the air bag system. This is not a DIY project. The light staying on indicates there is a problem with the system.

Remove the rear seats (bottom ones) easy to do, just pull it up; it'll snap off, you'll need a ratchet or monkey wrench i think it was 15mm or somewhere around there, but all you do is take out the bolts and replace.
