Next, using a very small screwdriver (preferably a Phillips head) insert it into the hole located under the ignition key cylinder on the steering column.
Pressing upwards with the small screwdriver or nail, you will press in the release button.
Firmly grip the key & ignition cylinder while pressing up on this release button & remove while in the "On" position.
Insert your new ignition cylinder with the key in it, into the "On" position until it snaps in place. Going in, the release button does not need to be depressed.
You now have a Cylinder key, that will not match your door lock keys!

I have the same problem with my 23hp kawijunk. What i have found is that when you tear down the engine you will find there is a bushing/bearing in the top of the crank case. If you look on the parts breakdown it doesnt show the bushing because kawasaki says the bushing is casted in to the block and cannot be removed. That is wrong it can be removed by pressing it out but you have to match it up with a bearing maker. I have found a part number on the internet that is PAP 40 20 p10 pl which is a INA bearing bushing but that bushing is for the bottom pan not the top bushing in the crank case. What i done was went to a local bearing dist. and found the bearing was made by INA but INA doesnt care a PAP 40 25 P10 which is what you need for the top. So i ordered a PAP 40 30 p10 and plan to have it cut down 5mm to be exact fit as origional. So if your engine is like mine the crank in mine was shot also. So the parts to fix yours will prolly be the same as mine. What you will need is a new sump pan gasket,bottom oil seal,top bushing,new crank. That should get you back in business if you dont plan on doing this work yourself it could get expensive at a shop with all the labor involved. Let me know if i can help.

Check the hydraulic fluid level for the clutch master cylinder, it may be empty. If it is empty you can fill it with DOT 3 brake fluid. This may temporarily fix the problem but you still have a leak in the system.

All you do is unscrew the brake lines from the Master Cylinder, unplug the two sets of wires that are underneath the lines. Then unbolt the two bolts that are under the brake fluid reservoir.
