Read your cars owners manual. Most vehicles only require regular gas. Those cars normally do not need a higher grade unless you hear a lot of pinging in the engine. Using a higher grade fuel will not hurt the vehicle in most cases, it will just cost you more out of pocket. Some auto makers do include a warning about ethanol and the maximum % you can use so read your manual.

Ethanol can cause damage to engine parts. It can also lead to damage with seals that protect your motor because it eats away at rubber.

There was a recall on the fuel injectors on the M30's due to leakage. Just take it to a dealer and they will replace the injectors for free. You'll even get a loaner car while they work on yours.

You may have very worn piston rings, letting oil through. Take it for a'compression test'/

Here's a general rule of thumb: Close the fuel mixture valve, then back it out 2 1/2 turns. Then adjust it from there. It's a good starting point, and usually works for me.

Most likely is knocking. Try next higher octane grade of gasoline.

Could be what's called "Blow-by". Your pistons have Rings & Seals on them and when they get old and worn with lots of miles put on the engine, they allow a little bit of oil to escape past the piston and into the chamber which is immediatly burned. This results in the smoke coming out of the tailpipe. Only way to fix it is to have the engine rebuilt or replaced. or a good lub. might help. try lucas. also u might need a head gasket, agood way to check is if ur oil is creamy (which means oil and anti-freeze is mixing)or if the exess smoke is blue. The F150 V8 engines (in general) tend to warm fairly quickly when operating normally. From right cold to full operating temp in about ten minutes city driving on really cold winter days.

If your Engine does not match this by a large margin then I am going to predict that thermostat is worn or weak and needs replacing.

There would be 4 pistons, one in each cylinder.

Both sides of the engine, some run to transfercase if equipped. Others run to ac/heater box inside dash. One runs to brake booster.

if standard engine, you could pull specs for engine online, or any dealer of that vehicle could tell you. should also be in owners manuell if you have it

You need to take it to a repair shop that has the equipment to properly repair it.

Open and read your owner's manual. If it has one, it will tell you. Depends on the make and model of car. Many have the switch in the trunk on one side or the other. Ford products are the only ones I am familiar with that have them. Typically on the driver's side in the trunk.

Each engine is designed with a slightly different object in mind. A heavy diesel is great in big trucks, but would be too heavy for your car. Your car's engine would not even move a big truck.

The idle is adjusted by way of the Idle Air Control motor as directed from the Engine Control Module.
