Answer:Sea foam is also when the waves wash up on the shore it causes bubbles, which are then called sea foam because the bubbles sorta mesh together to look like foam. Go look at the shore of the beach and you will see what I am talking about. You replaced your idle air control valve on your 1998 cavalier but it still idles too high why?
You might need to change your throttle position sensor.
Is a Gumout engine flush worthwhile?
I agree it is possible for the sluge to go into your oil pump and cause it plug up, but if you read on the back of the can it says if your vehicle has more than 50,000 miles on it you need to take the oil pan off and clean all the excess sluge off, this will fix your problem with puging up your oil pump, unless it just happend to do it while your flushing your engine in the five min. another thig to stop this is to put a new oil filter on before you begin to flush, because your old filter most likely cant filter enough. Once the flush is done put another oil filter on
#8I'd have to say the tranny fluid in the oil is the best idea so far. To prevent the problem I also agree on using synthetic oil. Use store brand synthetic if you're frugal. Basicly, if you need to use gumout, you've been abusing your engine anyway. Had a 4L Jeep and a 5L Chevy k1500 die after gumout clogged the small channels used to distribute the oil - so about 6-8k miles later, the valves were burning up and the engine started braking internal components. And that's with removing the oil pan on both, and changing the sump screen, oil filter, etc. #9You know I have been using the product for years . There are a couple of things to keep in mind . The main one is if this is not a routine thing then it will have to be flushed twice and the filter changed in between flushes . What happens is the flush itself doesn't ruin your engine the debre in your engine does . Everyone that has a problem after one flush is due to the engine is so nasty on the inside gunk disolves everything , but it is not drained out the oil pan . You can blame it on the flush or you can blame it on how many times you have missed an oil change at 3500 intervials . If you think changing the oil at every 3500 miles is all there is don't get me started on the air filter , breather filter , pcv valve , and fuel filter ! #10I've read everyone's answers and most of them seem to address that unless you have kept up the proper maintenance on your vehicle and that it's the sludge buildup that kills your engine and not the flush, are there any special care instructions written in the directions and if so shouldn't they perform these precautions at the service businesses when the service is being offered? Has anyone contacted a rep at the services corporate offices or Pennzoil-Quaker State company to confirm this? It just seems to me that there's allot of guessing going on as to why a few people have had egine problems after using the product. I personally have used the service after 80,000 miles on my Chevy pickup and have not had a problem since. #11Any "engine flush in a can" has the potential to cause problems. As others have said, the loosened sludge, carbon and particulate will only end up in the sump to cause problems later. (It will also break down the surface tension of the oil.) 10% of the old oil remains in an engine after an oil change. That 10% is in the casting cavities and the bottom of the sump. There is only one safe flush system which, unfortunately, is not available in the USA. Best solution for automobile owners-Buy a cheap oil, run it 500 miles and change the oil and filter. Do that 3 times and then go back to a good quality oil, either mineral or synthetic and use a good quality filter. #12I use kerosene. Drain a quart of old oil out and add 1 quart kero. in. Run at idle 20 mins. then drain. Next, pour 1 quart of oil in the engine with the oil pan plug off so the oil drains. That helps clear out the kero. and loose debris. Then do a reg. oil change, wait 1000 miles and change oil and filter again.Bleed fuel line ford 250 pickup diesel 2005?

Why would a 1993 Ford Thunderbird LX V6 stall upon take off when the engine is cold?
Usually old plugs. Take the nearest one out and look at it. If it needs changing go ahead and get a set. If it looks fairly new then check the gap on it. For mine the gap is .052" - .056". If you plan on keeping the car a long time do yourself a favor and get the better plugs that last longer. Its a squeeze for the passenger side.
If that doesn't help you may try "Carburetor and Fuel Injector Cleaner" and get those injectors clean.
Why do you hear a tapping noise when you accelerate in your mustang?
It could be a few things. Maybe a fuel knock caused by timing or something like your rocker arms are out of adjustment. Also you could have bad crank or piston rod bearings or cam bearings.
How do you replace the alternator on a 1999 Saturn sl2?
check link below:
Huge PITA but it is possible. My alternator for the 4th time quit working last weekend. My dad changed it for me and it took him about 4 hours. If possible, pick up a shop manual available at any auto part store for the car and read. It's in an impossible space to get to, but it goes on a lot faster than it comes off. Good luck!
What all do you need to start a motor on the engine stand And how do you hook it all up?
Assuming that you are talking about a non computer controlled engine and a VERY strong engine stand I would say that you need a battery with connections to engine for ground,to starter, and to the coil. A remote starter switch connected also to the starter solenoid and pos battery cable. Fuel supply and tubing if pump is on engine if not you will need a fuel pump. Radiator and hoses for cooling unless you only intend to test fire it and not run it for more than a minute. And remember that when you want to shut it off to pull the coil wire.

What do you need to be a car engineer?
First you need to understand the basic mechanics which enables the automobile to function. The list of functional theory mentioned below has to be understood, through practical knowledge (i.e) hands on experience.
1. Thermodynamics
2. Engineering Mechanics (Static and Dynamic)
Don't do it.
Can a vacuum leak cause a 1972 350 turbo trans to have trouble shifting?
yes check you vacum line in the back of your transmison
Is There A Such Thing As A 350 Stroker Motor?
Yes, kits are available allowing you to "stroke" a 350 engine. Doing so increases the piston stroke by increasing the crankshaft "throw".
What is the net horsepower rating of a 1973 351 Cleveland 4v engine?
266 horsepower@ 5500
There is too much incorrect info out there re: the 351C engine. 266HP net is correct for '72 (M or Q code). The '73 351C 4V (Q) was rated 248HP net due to lower compression (dished pistons) and smaller valves. All my information is taken from original Ford literature.
What is the bore and stroke of the engine in a Z06 Corvette?
For the C6 Z06 it is 104.80mm x 101.60mm 4.13 in x 4 in. Now if you want to know them all then just jump over to Smokinvette.com and just look in the technical sections for all this info on all the Vettes. Good luck!
Why does your 1997 subaru outback 83000 miles have a burning oil smell and smoke coming from engine?
Perhaps oil has leaked onto the exhaust manifold.
Oil LeakOil leak, probably valve cover gaskets need replacing or just tightening. Also if it started suddenly after an oil change, the filter may be leaking, or you spilled oil on the manifold. This MY & others had problems with both the cranshaft oil seal. The rear one leaks onto the exhaust and can make a horrible burning oil smell, notably when you stop after a long drive.
Head Gasket
Outbacks up to 2001 have issues with head gaskets, its a widespread problem. If the smoke is white and smells sweet it is coolant leaking into the pistons via a head gasket. Replace the head gasket before it fails. If you blow the head gasket it will ruin the engine.
Cam Seals
It is most likely the cam seals dripping small amounts of oil onto to the bottom of the engine block. When the engine warms up, it will burn the oil off.
Oil Pressure Switch
It could also be the oil pressure switch (oil pressure sender) leaking oil. This is the sensor that looks like a large bolt with a single wire attached to it located underneath the alternator at the front top of the engine. Watch it closely while the engine is running for an obvious leak. Much more easily resolved than the above possible problems. Also check to make sure that the oil pump is not leaking. Oil can drip down from the oil pump and burn which would create smoke.
