94 gmc with a 350 V8 when you turn the key it wont make a sound you have already replaced the starter relay switch and stater and battery terminals what should you do to fix this problem?

put a multimeter on the starter terminals set to check for voltage. Have someone else turn the key while you hold the meter. Check all your terminals this way, it will tell you where you do and don't have 12 volts. If you can't get it at any of the starter wires chase them back to the next connection point and try again there. eventually you will find where the juice stops at. on the other side of the part if you have 12 volts then your problem will be in that part. Beware this process may take some time. but for the $15 at walmart for the meter and the time. it will save you a couple hundred verses taking it to a shop. And just because you replaced the part already don't mean it was a good part that you put in! I've been through 5 starters from the store on one vehicle before I got a good one!

Why would the radio functions work on a 2005 sierra but no sound chimes or odometer display?

because the chimes dont come from your stereo speakers, they come from inside the dash

Where is the fuel filter located on a 3500 diesel 1995 gmc sierra?

Under the hood. It almost looks like an oil filter, only bigger, and should be mounted to a housing with a pump button on top. It should be on the passenger side of the engine.

Internl fuse location in 1992 gmc pickup radio?

You should check the fuse inside the truck it is either on the driver side by the door or under the dash on the driver side If you have an aftermarket deck and the fuses are good in the trucks fuse holder there is one behind the deck. To access it you have to pull out the deck. Any stereo shop can find it and replace it for you.

What needs to be replaced if the dome light does not work on a 1996 gmc sierra?

Start with a new bulb and check the fuses. Some of the GMs have a button next to the headlight switch that cancels out the dome light if so desired, check to see if that switch is on or off.

What is the largest size tires you can put on a 2004 Sierra with out a lift?

I would guess 305's. I recently installed torsion keys on my 03 4WD to level out the vehicle. After I had those installed, I mounted a new set of 285's (supposedly 32's) on mine with a little clearance remaining. I was told if I had chosen the 305's (supposedly 33's), I would've had to do some minor cutting so I could turn the wheel fully. The new 285's were a replacement for 265's that were optional equipment when new. The 245 size should be stock on any new 1500 series. 265/75R16 is the biggest size most tire dealers/installers will put on without having you sign a waiver. Since that is the largest optional size recommended by GMC Charles in Indy I put a set of 31 12.50s on mine no problem.

How do you remove a radio from a 1977 gmc sierra?

The older radios are easy to remove. Pull the knobs off the front and there's nuts benind them. It should take a 9/16th deep barrell socket to remove them. There may be a bracket on the back of the radio in the dash. After that, pull it out from the rear and unplug the wires. That's it.

What could the problem be when the front axle won't engage but transfer case does when shifting into 4wheel drive on a 1996 Chevrolet 34 ton?

update the front axle actuator. GM has a new kit which requires you to replace the old style front axle actuator (metal shell) with a new style plastic metal actuator and update a wire harness, splicing into the brown wire at the transfer case connector. Also check the 4wd fuse just for grins.

How does the ignition trigger work on a 2001 GMC Sierra with individual coils?

there are two main sensors used to do this a crank position and a cam position sensor. They tell the computer where the internal parts of the engine are in a 360 degree cycle and the computer tells coils to fire at the appropriate time

Does a 1993 GMC Sierra require a shim between the starter and the engine?

Shims are used only when the starter/ ring gear are too tightly meshed, which can be caused by incorrect tolerances at the factory between the starter/bellhousing. They are not used on a particular year, model etc. Try it without a shim first; if it seems to sound/start fine then it will be fine without one.If the starter seems to labor, or sounds tight, or gets hung up then try a shim.

Are alternators covered under warranties?

For original warranties, it depends on the level of warranty. Usually for the first year or two on a new car it would be covered, but after that, only if you have the premium extended warranties. For aftermarket and used vehicle warranties, most basic ones won't cover electrical components like the alternator. The upgraded ones usually will though. Best to ask the warranter or read your warranty details. If you need a new alternator you might as well get it done (at a warranty approved shop) and seek reimbursement from warranty. The worst they can do is say 'no', you need the alternator anyways, so it's not like you'll be losing anything.

How do you Change fuel pump in a 1990 GMC Sierra 1500?

Well sence the fule pump is inside your fule tank, you will have to do one of two things. you can go about it by either removing the bed of your truck to get to the top of your fule tank, or use a lift to get your truck into the air, and then unbolt your fule tank *with some sort of jack under it to hold/ease your tank down* then it should be pretty self explainatory from there. take the screws off the cover on the top of the tank, and when you pull out that contraption, you just replace the parts that came with your fule pump and fule filter pump/screen. *the parts should go on the way the used parts came off* then just put it all back together and put the cover back on, rebolt your fule tank. *or if you took your bed off, put your bed back on* and you should be finished. hope this was helpfull.

How to fix noise and vibration on washer spin cycles?

It's important to ensure that your machine is level and that all four feet are firmly planted on the floor. This will require use of a "level" placed on top of the machine. And a wrench to adjust the length of the machine's feet. Once you have roughly adjusted the feet, try running a load in the spin cycle, and fine tuning the feet further to reduce the vibrations.

Front loading HE washing machines can be particularly vulnerable to vibrations due to the vertical orientation of the spin, and the high RPM's of their spin cycles. They can build up a resonant vibration at high spin cycles (think tuning fork vibration, it's very similar). These vibrations may be less pronounced on cement or solid tile floors, but can be very pronounced on some wooden floors, especially if installed in mobile homes or on an upper floor of a house (again think placing a tuning fork to wood). Indeed the vibrations can resonate throughout the house, with the machine visibly vibrating, again, just like a tuning fork.

But just as easily as a tuning fork can be dampened by lightly touching it, so can the resonant vibrations of these front loader machines. An extremely simple method of dampening these vibrations can be achieved with a $3 piece of swimming noodle foam. See the below listed related link "Simple Fix for Vibrating Washers".

How do you know if your key is a transponder key?

the plastic cover on a key with an immobilizer is softer and larger than one without. if you have no key to compare, look on the dash with the key not in the ignition. if there is a red light in the shape of a car with a key shape on it that flashes every 2 seconds or so, it has a transponder. when you put the key in the ignition the light turns off.

What can cause a new battery go dead to on gmc sierra?

Usually its a short in the electrical system or something like a light being left on. To find the cause you would need to do some amperage checks. Disconnect the positive terminal and then hook up a meter between the battery terminal and the connector. See how much current is being drawn. Then one at a time pull the fuses. check the meter and see which fuse or fuses drop the current to 0. Now follow that line out to the individual components and see if you can the issue.

If no fuses are causing the problem then you have a drain between the battery and the fuse box. Dont forget to check the fuses in the engine compartment either.

Dirt and grime build up on a starter motor can also cause a drain on the battery. All the current needs is a dirty wet greasy path to send electrons on. Doesnt have to be a short.

Where is the turn signal relay switch located on a 1991 GMC Sierra 4x4?

1998 GMC Sierra and the driver side door has become hard to open its like the door handle inside does not completely disingage the door latch mechanism?

I have had this same problem. In my case it turns out to be the hinge pin on the door keeps riding up becoming partialy disengaged causing the door to sag. Just tap it back in place making the door realign and all is well. I haven't found a good way to prevent it from reocurring yet, but I just keep an eye on it and drive it back in place when it rides up.

It could also be a stretched rod inside the door from the handle to the latch. An easy fix for this is to remove the door pad and bend the rod, making it shorter and able to fully release the latch.
