What do you do when your 1999 corvette won't start?
Try a different grade of gasoline. Late eighties cars have a hard time with the ethanol blend of fuels. If it is high milage engine compression builds up due to carbon which raises the compression ratio. Wait till engine is cold and start run a tank of premium and don't use ethanol blend. Change O2 sensor as a bad reading will send bad signals. Start with this and see if problem is cured. Changing plugs wouldn't be a bad idea also. This fallacy of plugs lasting for 50000 miles is just not true.
got fuel if so is the starter motor cranking the engine over if to that means battery ok so could be fuel injection pump or carb. spark plugs if petrol
How do you replace the air conditioning system on a Honda CR-V?

How do you change an ignition lock cylinder on a 1989 Honda CRX HF?
All recent models of Honda use the same ignition lock removal procedure.
Remove the screws holding the steering column clam-shell together and to the column. (Phillips heads from the bottom)
Carefully pry the upper and lower halves from one another.
You should now be able to see the ignition lock easily.
Remove the black or white plastic cover that covers the headless bolts that secure the lock to the column; usually on the top or the left side of the steering shaft.
Honda uses break-away bolts on this in order to make stealing the car by breaking the steering lock away more difficult. You can purchase those bolts from you local Honda dealer, or you can use an Allen (hex key) head bolt. You might need to shave down the outer edge of any new bolt to fit inside the hole on the collar.
To get the headless bolts out, the simplest method is to use a small (1/4 inch or so) cold chisel and a small hammer. Catch a side point of the chisel into the top of the bolt and tap it around in the normal removal fashion (counter clockwise).
A second option is to hammer the chisel directly into the head of the headless bolt, and create a slot for a standard (flat) screwdriver.
Either method works, and your choice may be limited by the space you are working in.
Once you have those two bolts out, you can remove the lock from the column.
When re-installing a new lock, make sure you position the lock on the column properly, there is one place it will fit flush, and that is the place it needs to be BEFORE you start tightening the bolts.

How do you replace the thermostat located on a 1987 Honda CRX?
Follow the hoses to the back side of the head, on the passenger's side. You will notice a housing for a few hoses. On the rounded portion of that fitting, is where the thermo is located.(facing out towards the fender) Remove breather tube, disconect any wires or connectors, that may, be in the way, ie; O2 sensor. You don't want to break anything, it's a little tight in there. Release pressure from the radiator, by opening cap. Remove hose that goes into the housing. There are two bolts that hold this on. The bolt on the top, is for a groung wire. Replace thermo and seal. The thermo and seal must mate together in the corrrect way. Getting the seal seated right is the key. I removed my battery for easier access. Good Luck...
If you do a lot of stop and go drving, ie..city driving, you will get poor milage. I would go to another dealer for a second opinion--and then take that back to your dealer. My '97 CR-V, with almost 100,000 mi., still gets 21 mpg mixed driving. first the amp has nothing to do with it, the only way you would get that kind of gas mileage , you would have to floor it from light to light. i dont know your mileage, maybe its time for a major tune up, but alot of things can lead to poor gas mileage, dirty fuel system(injectors, filter) bad spark plugs, dirty air filter, low tire pressure, also using cheap gas, all can play a part in poor gas mileage. My Humble Opinion... I also have an 05 CR-V that was getting pretty crumby gas mileage. I managed to do a few changes that seemed to help a lot. First and foremost I had my tires checked. They needed some air and an alignment. Then I replaced my air filter (this is an easy do it yourself project). Then I replaced both cabin filters, also a nice do it yourself project. My local dealer was going to charge me $250 to replace the cabin filters. You can find a good video on You Tube showing you how to do it yourself for about $25. Now I have no way of knowing if everything helped to improve my gas mileage, but before the changes I was getting about 18 mpg. Now I get about 24. A HUGE difference with such high gas prices. Good Luck!
Does a Honda Prelude 1998 type sh have a cable or hydraulic transmission?
I think you mean hydraulic clutch. I believe your model is hydraulic.
Does a 1991 Honda CRX Si no ac have a cooling fan relay?
The AC system on that year was actually dealer install only, Honda didn't ship any with A/C. To answer your question, yes. The cooling fan relay is located behind the passenger headlight next to the air filter box. It should be right next to the passenger side engine bay ground point.
How do you know if the head gaskets are blown in a 1997 Tahoe?
Take the radiator cap off. Start the engine and watch for bubbles. This is a quick check. If you want a better check use a compression tester. Check all of the cylinders. They should all be similiar. If one or two are low you probably have a blown gasket. There are other causes for low compression, but they will all require opening the engine to fix. ANSWER Is your coolant temp gauge reading different readings like hi then low and back? Is there any white smoke coming from the exhaust? Is your engine running rough like 1 cylinder is missing?
ANSWER
You can also borrow a tester at Autozone to test for blown head gasket. I believe it tests for exhaust gases in your coolant.
What is the location of the fuel pump on a 1985 Honda CRX?
if it's an si then it's in front of the left rear tire, next to the gas tank. If it's a DX or HF it's on the front of the engine.
Where is the PCV valve located on a 1987 Honda CRX?
I just replaced the PCV valve on my 1987 CRX Si... It's very difficult to find, I had to stop by the Honda Dealer and get them to print out a parts location map for me.
The PVC Valve is connected to a black box located right above the oil filter. Thankfully you can reach it from the top of the engine.
Looking at your eninge from the top, you'll see the Programed Fuel Injection label on the top of your intake.
Directly in front of this label is a hose that decends down into the black box located above the oil filter. You'll probably need a flashlight to see it.
Disconnect this hose from the top your intake, then using a pair of pliers PULL the hose UP and OUT of the engine, your PCV Valve is connected to the bottem of this hose and will come up with this hose.
Now that you have the hose and PVC valve out of the engine, disconnect the old PVC from this hose and install your new PVC Valve.
Next, push the tube back into position on the black box it came out of located above the oil filter and using a LONG screwdriver, push the PVC valve back into it's hole until you feel it Sink into place.
Reconnect the top hose to your intake housing and your all done.
How would you set the timing on a 1986 Honda CRX?
there are three lines on the bottom pulley the middle one lines up with a line on the plastic timing cover then there are two lines on the cam gear u put the lines -0- on the gear like i just showed u there are also three numbers on the gear u put the numbers on top with lines the same u have to pay attention there is two ways if u put the numers on the bottom it will run but not right. also u will need to make sure number one piston is on the compression stroke do that by pulling the plug out and turning the engine until it blows your finger off the hole then turn it back to the tree lines on the pulley are where they are as described earlier
How do you replace the alternator on a 1990 Honda CRX?
FOR DP-FI SYSTEMS The easy eay is to unbolt the alternator and let it sit for a minute. Now literally give the Honda a hug... put your left arm down the left side of the intake and then underneath it. Now grab the alt. with your right hand. Wiggle the stupid thing around until it can be passed from right hand to left hand, under the intake and out the other side. This takes a lot of wiggling and turning, but it is possible. I just did it last week.
For MP-FI SYSTEMS This one is a little more cooperative. Unbolt the master cylinder from the brake booster and shove it over to the left. Alternator will now come straight up.
Have patience. This job is truly a pain in the taillight socket. I've got 2 CRX's and I had to do this 3 times already...
You could also drop the drivers side cv shaft and it will fall out.
What bigger engine will fit in a 1990 Honda Civic CRX?
The crx came stocked with either a d15b6 or a d16a2. You could upgrade to a b16a from a jdm civic si-r or go bigger with a b18c from an Acura Integra, both will fit perfectly with a new motor mount kit (usually purchased separately). I dropped a b16a in my 89 civic hatch last year and just installed a greddy turbo and man does it go! Either one would be a good choice, give it a try and good luck.
