because of many different reasons - now this is just from my perspective .

there are many different reasons why there is poverty in this world. For Instance , the resources are very limited. But why are these resources limited ? I believe if everyone just gave up $1 , Just $1 , it could help someones life hugely. theres is over 6billion people in this world. Now half of that population - 3billion ($3billion), would be a HUGE help. So why arent we giving ? Ill tell you why, because people are too stuck up to just give the slightest dollar up. But even if it was just 50cents that would help hugely! im only 15 years old and if i had the money to give poor people a chance to live a happy life i would ! but what are some other reason of poverty ?

Lack of education - not enough resources to learn in a good environment

Men not provinding- some men cant provide enough money or supplies for their family therfore theres suffering

Disease creating poverty - takes income from families , sometimes cant pay for health so that creates health problems

Hydrological poverty is the the lack of water in an area in relation to their population. There is a huge problem with this in the middle east along the river basins of the Tigris-Euphrates, the Nile, and the Jordan. Three countries in this area are in a constant battle for water, they are: Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt.

Poverty can have far reaching and adverse effects on ones life. Some of the consequences of poverty are malnutrition,teenage pregnancy abuse in the home, children are not given proper education children joining gangs to belong to somewhere, the selling of drugs to facilitate the things that are not provided in the home. Girls may also turn to prostitution to provide for themselves. Poverty can also lead to low self esteem as people who are poor are treated differently from the people who are well off. This can lead to a feeling of inadequacy.

Poverty isn't as bad as it was 100 years ago, but in many poor countries poverty is still running rampant and shamefully so. Today the world is far better equipped to handle things like poverty, but Governments are slow to move, while people live in the worst conditions known to man.

The biggest problem is that, although unemployment rates are so high, there is a shortage of skilled workers. More than that, as soon as people are educated they emigrate to first world countries that not only offer better pay but also have better infrastructure, less crime, and are more economically stable. Without this skilled labor the growth of the economy is virtually non-existent, but until the other issues above are addressed, the problem will not disappear, and without the problem disappearing, the above problems that make South Africa less inviting cannot be addressed.

Other problems include poor infrastructure (eg. electricity), extreme poverty, lack of health services.

As of 2012, the total figure for the entire state was close to 20%. Included in these poverty statistics are certain demographic groups that are having the most problems: 13% of senior citizens are living in poverty; the child poverty rate is 27%; the percentage of women living in poverty is 21%. Also, 40% of single-parent families with children are living below the poverty line.
