Should you allow an oral statement from your client to the insured's adjuster after filing a PI claim?

You should allow a statement of some sort, written is recommended. Failure to provide any statement at all could give a court or jury an impression of dishonesty by intentionally delaying indemnification. It always looks better in court when you've followed all the rules and made an attempt to settle the matter before going to court. The insurer has a legal right to a notice of claim and the details of that claim in order to quantify the loss and recomend compensation. Failure to present the loss information to the insurer can relieve the insurer of any and all liability for the loss.

What is the 'Pledge of Allegiance'?

In 1892, a minister named Francis Bellamy wrote the Pledge (which means a promise or a vow) of Allegiance (which means loyalty or faithfulness) in order to promote patriotism, love of country and respect for the flag. It was originally designed for schools, to be taught to children. In the original version, it said nothing about God. In fact, it was meant to be concise and not take very long to say. It was also not said with the hand on the heart, but with a salute. Here is what Rev. Bellamy wrote: "I pledge allegiance to my flag and the republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

But as time went by, several changes were made to the pledge. The last one occurred during the early 1950s, an era of McCarthyism and the Cold War, when the words "under God" were added to show that America is a God-fearing nation, as opposed to the Soviet Union, our enemy of that time, which espoused a belief in atheism. Today, the pledge, which is said with the hand over the heart, reads:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all.

When was the pledge of allegiance written?

There is no widely-known "pledge of allegiance to the bible", so you're probably talking about some fringe Evangelical practice invented within the last century.

It is not a general tenet of Christianity that one must give allegiance to written words, nor that one must believe in the factual accuracy or moral righteousness of the bible, except insofar as it describes "Christ".

You had to go away for a business trip you forgot your pills you left on Sunday got home on Wednesday evening you firgured you should doulbe up for 3 days so you did that yesterday then again today?

The smart thing to do would have been to call your physician, have him or her authorize a local pharmacy to fill a portion of the prescription and you would have had your medication. The second smart thing to do would have been to call your physician and ask him or her whether it was okay to double up on your medication. As it stands now, you should at the very least read the directions included with your prescription or call your physician to advise him or her and get a qualified recommendation.

Should a teenage boy begin playing golf by using women's clubs?

Club ChoiceThat's probably a good idea. The shafts will be shorter and more flexible than a standard men's set. They're also less likely to have he-man lofts, like nine degree drivers, but might have sensible clubs like maybe a seven wood. All of these things will better fit a person of less height, strength, and skill.

Answer by FutureLPGAgolfer

Yeah, I'd say that's a good idea also. Graphite lady shafts are a good choice for beginners. But if he has had a little bit of experience in golf then men's graphite shafts are good enough.

Where can you find information about Sally's Stage in Chicago?

Sally's Stage was located on the East side of Western Avenue about a half block south of Devon. It probably closed 20 years ago and the site may now be a Middle Eastern or Indian restaurant. It had a huge pipe organ. Accd to http://www.acorntheater.com/prod2011211111.htm, the organist was: "Highly accomplished theater organist, Don Springer, plays music from the 1920's - 40's including those sweet and happy toe-tapping melodies everyone enjoys. He is the former organist in residence at the Hinsdale Theater in Hinsdale IL and played the Barton Theater Pipe Organ for years as the senior organist at the unconventional and wildly popular Sally's Stage in Chicago, IL during the 1980's." Sally's was owned by a guy named Joe Bortz. He purchased the building that housed Sally's Ribs up on Western Ave. and turned it into Sally's Stage. Accd to some "a cathedral of convoluted bad taste bringing together roller skating singing waiters, a huge theatrical pipe organ and some of the most mediocre pan pizza ever tasted, all in one cavernous room." It also had a mechanical bull. Joe also owned and founded the Dr. Jazz Ice Cream parlors on Montrose and in Evanston. A ProQuest search of the Chicago Tribune turns up 142 articles and advertiisements. These are the lengthiest articles: Night scene; Sally's Stage serves up its heaping dish of comic corn Larry Kart. What can you do with an associates degree in marketing?

An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Marketing can lead to employment in entry level positions within advertising, marketing, public relations, and retail and sales. This type of degree was not designed for transfer to a four year institution should the student want to pursue a bachelors degree at a later date. Some courses will transfer. However overall the student will lose a significant amount of credit with an AAS in marketing.

I also graduated 2 years ago with an A.A.S. in marketing, while I agree that it only opens doors for entry level positions, depending on the area you live in, I trasfered my credits to Syracuse University Whitman school and they took 62 of my 65 credits. My friend transfered to SUNYIT and they took 60 of his. So the credits will transfer if the school you are going to has a business program. Also check the college you received your degree from, they could have an articulation program that would keep the majority of your credits safe.

Can you earn a parole officer job with an associate's degree?

Background qualifications for probation officers and correctional treatment specialists vary by State, but a bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, or a related field is usually required. Some employers require previous experience or a master's degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field.

Applicants usually are administered written, oral, psychological, and physical examinations. Most probation officers and some correctional treatment specialists are required to complete a training program sponsored by their State government or the Federal Government, after which a certification test may be required.

Prospective probation officers or correctional treatment specialists should be in good physical and emotional condition. Most agencies require applicants to be at least 21 years old and, for Federal employment, not older than 37. Those convicted of felonies may not be eligible for employment in this occupation. Familiarity with the use of computers often is required due to the increasing use of computer technology in probation and parole work. Candidates also should be knowledgeable about laws and regulations pertaining to corrections. Probation officers and correctional treatment specialists should have strong writing skills because they are required to prepare many reports.

Most probation officers and correctional treatment specialists work as trainees or on a probationary period for up to a year before being offered a permanent position. A typical agency has several levels of probation and parole officers and correctional treatment specialists, as well as supervisors. A graduate degree, such as a master's degree in criminal justice, social work, or psychology, may be helpful for advancement.

Should the Government have imposed conscription?

Which government? All the major powers had conscription in WWII. I believe that in a large scale/world war scenario that it would be the only way to get the required man power. As it stands the military can only field about 10 active duty divisions wich would be enough to a small war or conflict. In world war2 I believe the US Army needed close to 100 divisions(about 10 times the normal size of the current army). And the army still had serious shortages in manpower. The only way I agree with conscription though is if the rich college kids have to go fight like everyone else. Since the Revoluntionary War the well to do families and those with connections could keep their kids safe, with either exemptions or sending them to college, while everyone else had to fight. I think that these families should be ashamed of themselves , that they can continue to do this today. At the end of the fighting their kids get to run the companies and continue to send jobs overseas, When the veteran returns today, he discovers that his job has gone overseas and his disability from his/her missing limb, blindness, paralysis, or any thing else you can imagine and 50 cents won't get him a cup of coffee. Yes I believe that it is fair, but only if everyone goes.

How did SPAM first get incorporated in World War 2?

I remember seeing a special on spam last year, on the Discovery Channel, I think.

The people that marketed pork made their money by the pound. They had a part of the pig they were trying to find a way to market, the pork shoulder. So they came up with spam.

During WWII a good source of protein was needed for the troops in the field. I can't remember all the details of what they hap prior or what was wrong with it but the solution was the precooked spam.

Hormel, the packing company for SPAM, first produced it in 1937. It was an ideal product to use during WWII because it did not require refrigeration and provided an excellent source of food to troops. One of the most interesting things about SPAM is that the US shipped an enormous amount of it to the Red Army in their conflict with the German Army. The Russians really liked it because it was compact and was as valuable to them as gasoline and ammunition in their battle with the German Army.

Should your resume be folded or not?

When mailing out a resume, there's nothing wrong with folding it so it will fit in an envelope. However, you want to make sure that the way in which you fold it is professional! So it's not like folding a note that you will keep in your pocket. It's a business document that you're folding. But if you are going to attend a networking event, then no, you don't want your resume to be folded.

How do you test out of college classes?

Test Out Of College ClassesTake the AP (advanced placement) tests. They come in almost every subject (calculus, Spanish, English, chem.... I think they have 20ish to choose from) and you get a score from 1 to 5, and schools require a different score to get credit, but a 4 or 5 is almost always good enough for a semester of credit.

There are the advanced placement tests that you really are required to take after an AP class. If you like get a 3 on that and get a stupendous grade on the computerized placement test during registration, then they might give you more credits. But the AP is the surefire way to test out. If you get a five, you get out of everything and jump into requirements for the major instead of "helper courses"

International Baccalaureate (IB) courses have exams that colleges can accept to place out of intro courses as well.

In addition to AP and IB, you can take CLEP and Dantes exams. The tests cost about $65 and most are worth a one-semester class. Different colleges take different tests. You can usually find the info on the college website.

Also be aware that every college and university has its own policies regarding the AP, IB, Dantes and CLEPs courses/grades they will accept. If you're an adult student, it may be worthwhile to check the policies before enrolling, and choose a school with liberal programs.

Also, a few colleges will allow students to "test out" of a class, or "place into" a higher class, simply by passing the final exam for the class. This procedure is becoming much less common than in the past, but is still used in many schools, for example, in foreign languages. In order to receive credit for the lower class, you will still have to pay the tuition, but as long as you pass the test you will not be required to attend classes.

Where can you find information on Wieland's Dairy in Chicago?

The Wieland Dairy and Ice Cream Factory, (in Chicago), was developed by my great grandparents, Jacob and Gottlieben (Gleich) Wieland. They came to the USA in 1889, bringing along their 7 sons,1 daughter, and Jacob's father. The Wieland Dairy was very successful, as was the Ice Cream Factory, where the "Good Humor" ice cream bar was developed. In the early 1930's the dairy was sold, for $8.5 million to "Borden", hence the name "Wieland/Borden Dairy" on all the bottles, for a period of time, (stipulated in the sale), later becoming just "Borden". The money was divided equally between the the sons and daughter. Two of the sons were against the sale, so they started CJ Wieland & Company Dairy. Not knowing whether this is a genealogy question or a question about the dairy itself, I welcome all to contact me. My father was eventuallya partner in the C.J Wieland Dairy and the chief chemist developing the formulas for the products. The Dairy was eventually sold to Hawthorn Melody in 1951. I would LOVE any photos anyone has of the dairy such as someone said they had. C.J. Wieland had an ice cream parlor and was regarded as the premium brand in Chicago. The aidry products were sold both in many markets and by home delivery.
