THERE IS ONLY ONE KIND OF SCION XB. BUT THERE ARE THREE KINDS OF SCIONS THE XA(COMPACT 4DR HATCH), XB (SAME CHASSIS AND POWERTRAIN BUT HAS A BOX FOR A BODY), AND THE TC (A 2DR SOMWHAT OF A SPORTS LOOK CAR).

The only two styles of xB available from the factory are manual and automatic. All power windows, A/C, etc are all the same on both. There are optional dealer extras you can add but those aren't part of the original car.

There have been two generations of xB, the 2004-2006 model was based off the Toyota Echo chassis. It was orignally sold as the Toyota bB sold in Japan, and was only slightly changed for the US market. The new 2008+ generation is based off the Toyota Corrolla Chassis and is much larger, heavier with a larger engine.

For performance, the two best axleback exhausts I've seen (dynoed) have been the Greddy Evo2 and the HKS Hi-Power. They are very similar, except that the Greddy Evo2 costs about $150 more. For your Cold air Intake, i would go with AEM. The reason is this: it uses 2.5'' tubing, where the other brands (such as injen, K&N, secret weapon) use 3'' tubing. Now the flow to the engine is not all that much more with the larger tubing, however it is MUCH easier to install the AEM piece. To install the AEM intake, you only have to remove the stock air box and the front drivers side wheel. to install the others, you have to remove the bumper and fender well liner. a big hassle. Also, the AEM CAI is the same CAI as the TRD one you can get from the dealership, just with different badging and a $200 price jump for the TRD name. Buying the TRD parts aftermarket rob you blind. You should see about a 20hp gain from these modds. not bad for costing under $1000. Neither of these modifications will hurt your car.

depends on if the car is front wheel drive or rear wheel drive. If it is FWD, it will have a axle for each front wheel, if RWD, it still has 2 axles but they are housed in the cars rear end............hope this helps

1. Be sure you get the right replacement wiper blade. The 2006 Scion xA has a special 12" rear wiper blade that fits the special rear arm. You can go to your dealer (which may be expensive) or you can look into 'Trico Exact Fit Rear Integral Blades' that snap right onto the special arm and look just like the factory original. They're available online.

Note that just because its a special arm, does not mean its hard to change.

I know the 1st generation xB's (04-06) have the 1.5L 1NZ-FE Toyota engines and use a timing chain. I'm not sure about the engines on the second generation.

Scion generally uses Toyota engines, so try looking for something like corolla engine. This is why Scions cost a little more, the engine longevity is much better than most cars.

With the key switched to the "On" position, but the engine off, press the mileage indicator till total miles are shown (ie. Not on trip A or B), and then press and hold that same button. You will see a bars go up as it resets, once it's done, you're good to go.

Press and hold the TRIP reset button

Turn the key off and back on

Hold the reset button until the lines on the ODO display disappear and the ODOMETER reading comes back.

Every 5,000 miles, a "Maintenance Required" light will blink for the first couple seconds after you start your car. It will continue to do so until it is reset. If it is not reset, than it will eventually turn on your "Check Engine" light. The purpose of the maintenance required light is to remind TC owners to change their oil. The factory recommended interval is 5,000 miles, but you can reduce the interval the light will come on to a mileage interval of your choice.

1. Before starting, make sure that the odometer is not on one of the trip mileage odometers but is displaying the standard odometer.

2. With the car off, press and hold down the odometer reset button. While still holding it, start the car.

3. The light should continue to blink for a couple seconds and than disappear. That will reset the light for another 5,000 miles.

4. The following are steps to change the interval in which the maintenance required light comes on. Right after you turn on the ignition while holding the reset button, you'll notice that the odometer display will show 5 bars. Each bar corresponds to a 1,000 miles. As each bar disappears, the interval will increase (0 bars = 5k, 1 bar = 4k). Release the reset button at the interval you desire.

iT COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY "TOPPING OFF" THE GAS TANK. tHE EXTRA FUEL SPILLS OVER IN TO THE CHARCOAL CANISTER WHICH IS A PART OF THE EMMISIONS SYSTEM AND TRIPS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON.
