How do you fix the problem in your suzuki alto its blowing fuses for your interior light clock and rear brake lights its a 15 amp fuse?

"Blowing" FusesFuses and Circuit Breakers are safety devices designed and installed in electrical circuits TO PROTECT the conductors [wires] from short circuits and overload conditions which can cause extreme overheating which can result in damage to the conductors, and worse, the possibility of a FIRE which could destroy the vehicle. When a fuse, and replacement fuses, repeatedly blow, is an indicator of an UNSAFE CONDITION in that circuit, usually a short. Do not install a larger fuse in a misguided attempt to correct the problem. To install a larger fuse would invite damage to the wiring and an electrical system fire. The proper "fix" is for a qualified technician, who knows what he/she's doing, to troubleshoot the circuit, find and identify the defect, and make proper repair [s], BEFORE replacing the fuse again [with the properly sized fuse].

2006 Scion xb having problem with static electricity causing sparks as you touch metal you don't want to go boom at the gas pump help?

try and put static guard on your seats and carpet.

This is usually caused by tires that don't allow the static electricity to disperse into the ground. One (expensive) way to possibly fix it is to get different tires. Or a cheaper method is to get a grounding strap that hangs down below the car and just touches the ground, this will disperse the static electricity into the ground.

If you just make sure to touch some metal part of the car before you touch the gas pump you'll be perfectly safe. If you don't want to get "zapped", hold an all metal key in your hand and touch that to the car. The spark will jump from the key to the car and you won't feel the spark. You can do this with your scion ignition key so long as you make sure you hand is touching the metal part and not just the plastic part.

If you increase tire height and width will gas mileage measure the same because there has been approx 30 less mpg than before?

A larger overall tire height (not just RIM diameter) will lower the RPM needed to maintain a speed, so it will improve your gas mileage. It will however make your speedometer and odometer read incorrectly, so those will have to be adjusted (this usually requires changing a small gear on the transmission).

Wider tires will reduce your gas mileage, because the added width adds friction between the tire & the road. Good for handling, bad for mileage.

Going up in rim size (like say from 15" to 17") will reduce MPG because the larger rims will be heavier, and will move the weight further out from the hub. Also lower-profile tires have to be built heftier to compensate for their shorter sidewall which adds weight out near to the edge of the tire. Rotational weight (tires, rims, brakes rotors, etc.) count for approximately four times as much weight as vehicle weight. So adding 10 pounds on the wheels, is like adding 40 pounds in the car, and added weight reduces MPG.

2005 Scion tC with 31000 miles on the odometer The dealer has recommended an 85 dollar power steering flush Is this necessary?

Depends on the condition of the fluid. Toyota's use Dexron in their power steering system. Normally this looks like red kool-aid or Nyquil. If it is black and dirty, then it needs changed.

Most cars do not need this service until closer to 100,000. However, some cars (the Tc included) do not properly cool the power steering fluid and the fluid overheats, scorches, and turns black.

I would replace the power steering fluid - a flush may not be necessary, just a drain and fill. You can do this yourself in < 30 minutes if you can take off the front passenger side wheel and have a pair of pliers to disconnect the power steering line.

To do yourselfDisconnect the PS line behind the front passenger wheel, let the fluid drain out, reconnect the line and clamp, refill the reservoir. Put the wheel back on. If you have jack stands to properly support your car you can leave it up, if you only have the jack that came with the car, let the car down for these next steps.

To bleed air from the system - Turn the wheel lock to lock (all the way left, all the way right) and refill the reservoir. Turn the car on and let the air work its way out of the system (5 to 10 min) and refill the resevior. With the enginge running, again turn the wheel lock to lock and refill the resivior. At this point most of the air should be out of the system, if there is still air in the system your steering will be loud(gurgly?) intermittently. You can continue to turn the wheel lock to lock or take a (short) drive around the neighborhood to let any remaining air out.

When you're done, double check the resivior level and look for any leaks.

Does 08 scion xb have a sunroof?

2008 Scion Xb does not have a factory sunroof or moonroof option. There after -market options from third-party suppliers like Webasto and Inalfa. Some Toyota dealers will even arrange for installation, but always check how this type of modification might affect your warranty.

What does an error 4 message on a Scion tc stereo mean?

This is the sign of death for your CD player, if it's still under warranty I would recommend you have it replaced soon. What has happened is you have had a CD that has basically placed your CD player out of balance and it jammed you CD player. Mine was in this mode for over a month until on day it just started working again. I know mine is almost done so I am looking at getting a new one.

The oil has just been changed in your 2003 Mazda Tribute and the oil light is still on?

How do you tighten serpentine belt on 2005 scion xb?

Two bolts on the alternator, one on top 12mm in the slotted hole, one on bottom of the alternator being a 14mm (just loosen both of them). The one on the bottom is the pivot point. Rotating the alternator will adjust the tension on the serpentine belt. Leave about 1/2" play in the belt. If it squeals later may need a bit more tension. Don't overtighten.

Notice the arm at the top attached to the alternator (the arm with the slotted hole) has a cast bolt midway on the face toward the engine. This makes a nice leverage point for sticking a screwdriver in between this bolt and the alternator (holding srewdriver vertically and pushing forward) for tightening.

533 miles is how many tanks of gas?

Depends on the car, transmission, driving style of driver, terrain, temp & weather conditions.

Scion has made five different types of car (xA, xB 1st gen, xB 2nd gen, tC, xD) each with manual or automatic transmissions, Each of those car/transmission setups have different potential MPGs.

Driving style, terrain, etc. will also play a large part. And aggressive or fast driver will get much worse MPG than a sedate or slower driver. Hilly terrain, or lots of city driving gets worse MPG then flat driving or highway driving. Cars get worse mileage in the winter than in the summer.

For my '04 Scion xB with a manual transmission I get an average of 31MPG, so 533 miles would take a little over 17 gallons of gas, which would be about 1.43 tanks of gas.

How do you reset the check engine light in scion xa 2006?

Resetting the check engine light

Here is how to reset your ECU without disconnecting your battery. This is a solution for those who install new parts and do not want to risk losing their trip meter mileages, radio presents, and so on.

  1. Make sure the car is off and that the key is not in the ignition.
  2. Open the hood and locate the "Engine Room Relay Box." This is the fuse/relay box in the engine bay. On the xA/xB, it is the black top box to the right of the engine bay.
  3. Take the black cover off and flip it over to read the embossed diagram. You want to look for the EFI fuse (not RELAY). On the xA/xB, the EFI fuse is 15 Amps. On the tC, the EFI fuse is 20 Amps.
On the xA, the EFI fuse is #4:
  4. Using the fuse-puller (white piece of plastic in the box), pull the EFI fuse out and let it sit for 10-30 seconds.
  5. Pop the fuse back in the EFI fuse socket. Make sure it is properly seated and is uniform with the other fuses.
  6. Put the black cover back on.
  7. Cross your fingers, start up the car, and hope you don't pull another CEL (Check Engine Light).
  8. If you are successful in not pulling a CEL, I recommend you let the car for 5-10 minutes for good measure.

Over the life of a new 2008 Scion Tc Coup with a timing belt or a 2008 Civic Si with a timing belt which would be the least costly to maintain?

The Scion tC has a timing chain and probably won't have to be serviced over the life of the vehicle. The Honda has a belt and a tensioner that will need to be changed every 90,000 miles at a cost of near $500.00. The water pump should be replaced on both with the same mileage. You choose.

How much is it to replace the scion tc front windshield?

Cost me $200 total, inclusive of labor. That was with third party glass though. If the windshield replacement shop uses OEM glass then I understand it could cost a *lot* more (like several hundreds of dollars more).

How many axles are there on a car?

4-wheeled cars have 4 axles. Depending on the type of drive-train that the car uses, some of the axles might only be stub axles or hubs, and some axles might be referred to as 'spindles', but they are all, 'axles', nonetheless.

Will BMW 325i wheels fit a Scion tc?

They will only fit with minor modification. Scion TCs' bolt pattern is 5 x 100. BMW uses a 5X120 bolt pattern. Only way for it to work is to buy 5x100 to 5x120 wheel adapters. You can find them on eBay for about 30 bucks a wheel

How many miles can a 2006 Scion tc with a full tank of gas can go?

Depends... Highway, City, or Both? In any case, it's pretty simple math. I think they get around 27 highway, let's say 25 to be safe, they have a 14.5 gallon tank... Should be right around 362 miles until it's bone dry, not enough to make it to a gas station. I'd say you could run it until 350 or so.
