The 1995 Nissan 200SX typically uses a serpentine belt that is approximately 6PK1005 in size (6 ribs, 1005 mm in length). However, it's always best to consult the owner's manual or check with an auto parts store for confirmation, as variations may exist based on the engine type or specific model features.

How do you replace a serpentine belt on a 2003 supercharged Toyota tundra. The tensioner pulley only moves an 18th of an inch?

First off, if you haven't purchased a replacement belt yet, I recommend the goodyear gatorback, available at autozone--it's a premium belt that should well outlast the factory version. After opening the hood and peering inside, the passenger-side of the vehicle should be on your left (unless you're in the UK or another RH drive country) and the driver-side on your right. Look down and you'll see the serpentine belt looping around a series of pulleys. Counting from the left to the right, locate the second pully, which is the tundra's auto-tensioning/idle pulley. There should be a nut that looks like it's protruding a bit more than the nuts on the other pulleys. Using a ratchet or wrench (I think it's a 14mm socket size), turn this nut (which will also turn the tension pulley) counterclockwise/anticlockwise/to the left--it will turn fairly easily and when it does you will see the belt relax. Note how it's threaded before you take it off, although there should be a diagram on the new belt's packaging to help you out. After you take the old belt off, simply thread the new one on in the same manner--it's a lot easier if you have someone maintain pressure on the wrench while you use both hands to thread the belt. If you're alone, you can always tie or bungee your wrench to keep pressure on it. Also, I found it helps to save the highest (and most accessible) pulley for last. After you have the new belt threaded, relax the pressure on your wrench, make sure the belt is seated properly, and you're done!

Where is the belt retention er on a 99 grand am?

If its the 3.4L it has an automatic tensioner. look right under the alternator and there is a pulley. That pulley and arm is the tensioner. To release the tension, there is a bolt on the inside of the pulley, put a wrench on it and pull like you are trying to tighten the bolt. The arm is spring loaded and will pull up, releasing tension.

Is it ok to put WD-40 on an alternator belt?

Absolutely NOT! WD-40 is a lubricant. The last thing you want to put on a drive belt is a lubricant. If the belt is making a noise, it is either loose or worn out.

How do you put on a Serpentine belt to an 1986 Cutlass Supreme 305 Cu V8?

You will need to loosen the bolts holding the alternator in place than once theyre loose, theres a long screw that pushes the alternator keeping it tight- loosen that screw and the belt should start becoming loose. Loosen that screw until you can take the belt off then you should be able to replace with a new one. Hope that helps.

Does a car have a pulley?

The engine usually has an idler and/or tensioning pulley as well as a few pulleys that use the power of a traveling serpentine belt to drive components such as the alternator, a/c pump, etc. Any of the pulleys that have one or more grooves that assist to guide the belt(s) are, technically, sheaves. Idler or tensioner pulleys that are completely flat because the flat back of the belt rides on them are not sheaves, but are pulleys.
