Sunroofs and Moonroofs

You can do this one of two ways. First and the best thing to do is to get some new weather stripping for it or you can find out where it is leaking and use some silcone

If your sunroof has been working dependably and smoothly, and has sustained no recent damage, (IE; something falling on it, something becoming caught in it when it was being closed, someone beating the crap out of it) I would suspect an electrical problem. You can check for a blown fuse, or you can try to pull the switch out and shoot it with contact cleaner on the off chance that it's just dirty. OR, you could try taking a small piece of wire and shorting across the switch. If the sunroof works then, it means that the switch is bad. I'm afraid that's about the best I can do for you. The sunroof on my 2005 Chevy Suburban opened but wouldn't close.

It was completely taken out, put back in it's track, hot wired to close and reinstalled. The switch was left disconnected so it wouldn't happen again. Chevy does not sell parts for this unit so the entire sunroof assembly needs to be replaced. It only needs the 2 cables that make it move.

A new one will cost about $1500 from the dealer, installed. Installing a used sunroof may save $500-$600, but it would be used without a guarantee.

I have a 1997 200sx se with a sunroof.

I have a 96 and I removed mine I saw a couple 94s in the junk yard and the amp seems to be in the same place. go to the trunk, there is a cardboard looking cover in the top back of the trunck, Gently pull down the plastic clips, and then there is a hard plastic holder for the amp. My amp was on the pass side. I uncliped the hard plastic and you can unclip the amp with some wiggling and unpulgin I did not have to remove the hard plastic

I believe they start at the rear corners of the sunroof and exit in/at the rear wheelwell areas.To check you can fill the sunroof chanels with water from a jug/hose and see/listen where they drain.

The drainage tubes for the sunroof go down the pillars of the roof. There are 4 of them 2 in the rear, 2 in the front. most run all the way down to the wheel wells of the car. if they are clogged, get to the top of the hose usually right over the 4 corners of the headliner) and disconnect the hoses. blow high pressure air though the hose. junk should blow out the other end, reattach and water test.

most cars you have to drop the headliner to gain access to the sunroof module assembly and then either lower it and clean it out or just disconnect the drain tubes and blow them out. making sure they are clear before putting it all back. after your done cleaning the relubricate everything with a high quality grease that's not affected by cold temperature. not white lithium. they make special grease just for sunroofs. the tube I got cost me 30$ at my employee price.

The 3G Preludes have to little rain gutters on the driver and passenger front corners if you open the sunroof up you can see them make sure these are kept clean otherwise you could have leaking problems

you take burts bees wax and rub it on the inside of the hole

because burts bees wax has fiber glass in side of it and it will close them

levers can be used to increase the force, such as crow bars. use purpose made levers within their limits, ensuring they won't slip up the bum.

If you need to reset a hollandia sunroof, check your owners manual. You should be able to find instructions on how to perform this task.

NO, there is no sunroof fuse on an Infinti i30, if your sunroof stopped working disconnect battery wait 5min & reconnect to reset it or pull the relay out & put it back in (relay is on inside fuse panel). this is common on Infiniti i30 & Nissan Maxima's

you can find them in the trunk on the left and right sides. take off the fabric coverings of the trunk an you will be able to see clear plastic hoses/tubes around the fenders.you can pull them out of the bottom fittings and blow air into them to clean from debris.it worked for me

well my 1998 Ford escort zx2 has a fuse under the grey plastic housing on the inside. If this is blown it will make no sound.

take down you electric sun roof down and put a manual one where you put the electric one

To work on moonroofs and to keep it from leaking is a job in itself. If it opened, I wouldn't think a fuse would be bad. Take it to the auto trim shop where they are used to working on them.

Probably a fuse. Get out the owners manual and look through it. The labeling for the fuses are shown in that book, and a lot of times the labeling is on the fuse box cover itself. If it isn't the fuse, or if it blows a fuse again, take the car to the dealer to have it checked out.
