The fuses are under the hood and under the back seat.

Ok...you ready for this? The interior plastic panel that covers the hatch motor and tail light access needs to come off, (two Philips screws on top, four plastic flatheads on either side). Look down into the motor where the actual hatch would if you were to close the trunk. There is a black release that when pushed down (use a screwdriver to push it down), the motor will move down. When you release it, the motor will come back up. Leave the panel off, shut the trunk so the hatch is latched, climb in the car and push that black release down until shut..if you let it close too far down it will pop up again so play with it a little. I know it sounds ghetto and it is but it's better then not being able to get your hatch closed at all..trust me. Good Luck!

The first thing I would do is check the weather stripping around the sunroof. Replace it if necessary. If that doesn't work, check the glass for cracks and have it replaced, if necessary.

not an easy answer, not an easy project.1)remove seats front and rear.2)remove windshield pillar upholstry. 3)remove roof railing above doors. 4)remove and disconnect wiring from overhead console.make sure that all metal rails have been removed from around headliner. 5)remove panels from side windows, see why you had to remove back seat? now the roof liner is held on bya few push clips and some glue. remove clips and slowly remove headliner. now you will have to bend the headliner to get it out of the car do not crease the headliner or you will ruin it. again that's whyyou remove the seats. now the roof tracks can be visible. there are four screws that hold the sunroof in. use a short screwdriver ou may have to reposition the sun roof by moving it back and forthtill the screws are visible. now im assuming you have a leaking problem, but the problem with this is the felt gasket is no longer available from ford and i don't think anyone makes a repop. but if your problem is just the motor, you still have to go through most of these same procedures. the motor is under the headliner.also, the tracks are rivited into the roof, anyway, best of luck

I'm not an expert, but if the sunroof moves, I would not suspect the motor at the outset. Everything I've looked at on the internet indicates sunroofs are rather quirky and expensive to fix. Levers, cables, adjustments, not easy to get at, etc.

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but today I was looking for the sunroof fuse on my 2002 Nissan Maxima because my sunroof wasn't opening. I had replaced the battery and the sunroof wasn't opening, however the tilt up and down were working fine. So I went to www.maxima.org and looked up some stuff on their forums and one of the posts said to reset the sunroof ECU or something. The way they mentioned it was to hold the tilt down button for 5 seconds. So I tried it and it worked like a charm. Lets hope it keeps working. Unless you are an authorized technician, It is not something you should do. The headliner must be dropped and given access to the motor and transmission assembly near the rear of the sunroof near the dome light. Please don't attempt. You will likely do more damage and still need a technician to re-time it.

You will have to remove the sunroof motor, and the sunroof glass. Then you can move the guide tracks seperately until they are in the closed position. Then you can put the glass and motor back in, remove the power source (fuse or disconnect wire harness) to prevent any accidental opening until you can get it fixed. Chances are that a guide track or cable is broken, this can be a costly fix. Do not take it to the dealership, they will only want to install a whole sunroof unit. Take it to a local shop that installs aftermarket sunroofs.

The sunroof motor is in the headliner, above the motor switch You have to remove the sunvisors and pull down the headliner to see it

Just pop the old one out, unplug it and pop the new one in.

Yes. All sunroofs both factory and aftermarket have drains because it is impractical to totally seal a roof opening.

A 380sl does not have a sunroof, it has a hard top.

In many vehicles with power sunroofs, there is a compartment in the roof that houses the motor. There could be a removable panel (pops out with a screwdriver) and inside a lever of hand cranking method to aid in closing the roof. I know for a fact that the later models of VW's have this and included the crank, too.

Not sure about the 1999, but in my 2003, they begin in the front corners of the sun roof. On a dry day, open the roof, pour some water in the drain trough, and watch where it drips onto the ground. Mine exits at the base of the front door post on the passenger side, and at the base of the centre door post on the driver's side. Maybe the other two posts have drains as well, which may be plugged. I'm still checking this out. Someone suggested blowing them out with air, or using a thin, flexible reamer, which I haven't tried yet. BR

pop open the area where the button is to open and close the sunroof and then take a screw driver and unscrew the 3 screws holding the plate on the motor open the cover and then manually crank the roof closed by holding the screw driver in the crank (white piece) and turn. I need a new motor.

I have a 96 Saturn SC2, and the seals have gone out, I use a floor mat to cover mine. But.. when you get the chance, try to take the headliner out and check the hoses. There should be drain lines. Make sure they aren't clogged. Oh, also.. check the fuses and what not to see if that is why it isn't working.

If the sunroof is leaking, I can help. There are 4 drain tubes that get clogged with leaves and dirt. On a 92 and later Eldorado the front drain tubes connect to the wheel well between the wheel well and the fire wall and are fairly easy to get to. The rear two go through the trunck. Remove the carpeted panels on each side of the trunk interior and reach in to about the top of the rear wheel well and find the connection. These are rubber tubes that fit over hard plastic connections. The hard plastic connections are what actually connect through the wheel wells. Work the tubes loose, water and debris will likely come flowing out, so have an old towel handy. Use a stiff wire to clean out the debris stuck in the connecter. Water should now flow freely through the drain tubes proventing water from backing up inth the car interior. The connectors on other Cadillacs shou;d be in similar locations as the Eldorado.

First, check your owners' manual, but I believe it is located in the fuse box which is located under the hood on the right in a plastic box. The fuses should be examined to see which one(s) shows a broken medal post which indicates the need for replacement.

There is most likely a yellow switch in the trunck on the left side (drivers side) to switch from auto to manual
