I believe the light comes on when there is less than 2 gallons +/- left. Best bet is to fill your car up right when the light comes on and see how many gallons it takes to fill. Compare that to your tanks capacity (14.5 gallons) and you should be able to calculate many gallons left when the light comes on, then times that by your car cars average mph

It can, but the MAF mass air flow sensor is a pricey part and you want to be sure before buying it. Alot of parts stores, i.e. autozone, advance, might scan for codes for free if it's a 1996 or newer vehicle. If it's pre 96, then a different scanner is needed. A car that stalls and surges, sounds like a vacuum leak. Sensors that might also do the same, MAF, IAC, EGR, etc, many causes.

Is te oil leaking from the turbo into the exhaust, or is it that the oil is leaking from the exhayst into the supercharger? I have a 2004 Jetta that is leaking oil from the exhaust port into the supercharger. I think that the culprit is either a bad valve guide, or exhaust valve oil seal. Use one of the old pads across the face of the piston. If you use the clamp on the bottom of the piston it is possible to crack the piston. Using the old pad spreads the pressure to both sides of the piston.
That is if the piston is a cup. If it is solid on the face then it screws in, but I believe this type is only used on the rear brakes of cars.

Then they charged me $50.00 extra for the by-pass and another $32.00 for opening my door to fix the locks. So I ended up paying about $298.00 for the whole affair. My kit is 'Python 400XP'. And yes, they require you to have an auto transmission.

Transmission fluid level: As you don’t have an ATF dipstick, you will have two plugs facing downward on the larger trans pan. The plug higher up on the pan is the fill/level check (stamped/recessed into the rear right corner of pan). ATF should just dribble from this plug on a hot, idling truck, in neutral on a level surface. The lower one is the drain. The one at the back of the pan in a recess is the filler. You need a hand pump or something similar to fill it to overflowing then top it off with the engine running. Make sure you shift through the gears a couple of times when topping off.
