turn signal located on VT commodore

In the driver's compartment on the left side above and slightly forward of the fuse box. It's the unit with a three wire connector.

WRONG! Its a 8 wire connector relay box.Thats from the schematic diagram in Mazdas wiring manual. The 3 wire is a relay for the emergency flasher relay. I don't know where it is.

The owner's manual has the procedure. Hint: The head lamp assembly has to be rotated forward out of the grill first. 1. remove 2 small bolts and black shield on the top of the head lamp assembly 2. pull up on the 2 one-inch wide black clips in back of the head lamp, only pull an inch or so to unlock the head lamp, do not completely remove them. 3. evenly ease the head lamp forward and let it hand down 4. remove 2 small bolts holding the side marker assembly 5. pull on the side marker assembly, it will pop out 6. rotate and pull out bulb holder. 7. bulb is a 194, same as the license marker bulbs. 8. reverse steps to re-assemble Did this today, 10/9/2008, instructions worked. The bolts were all 5.5 mm.

.031 in timing is 10 degrees BTDC at 800 rpm

Left of center at the back of the engine. It's the round can that doesn't line up with the other stuff down there - it sort of sticks out at an angle. If you've already purchased a replacement, you should have an idea what it looks like, although the color might be different. You may need a tool to loosen the old filter - either a wrench that fits over the end or a strap wrench. Be sure to change the oil at the same time - the drain plug is in the middle of the bottom of the engine. You should replace the drain plug washer, but may get away with reusing the old one. Lubricate the seal on the new filter with a little bit of clean oil before installing. New oil filters should be installed hand-tight plus one-quarter turn.

PASSENGER SIDE, UNDER DASH, MOUNTED BEHIND GLOVE COMPARTMENT

The turn signal and hazard flasher are located slightly to the left of the cigarette lighter behind the kick panel. Remove the two screws visible on the long kick panel that extends under the steering wheel to the cigarette lighter. Pull out the ash tray and remove one small hex head bolt (7mm). Carefully pull the panel down and look straight in, on the left side of the cigarette lighter. The flasher on the left is the hazard flasher. The turn signal flasher is on the right (it is part #552 about $3 in the parts store hanging in the aisles). A pair of regular slip joint pliers opened up to their wide setting is very helpful in pulling it out. You don't get much room but you can install the new one fairly easily. Replace the 3 screws and you are finished. The flashers are hidden well and this is the easiest way I could find to replace it. You cannot reach it otherwise.

If one side of the flasher still works, turn it on and track down the sound until you find it. Otherwise, I would go to a good auto shop and ask them to show you where it is in their LOCATOR MANUAL.

I just replaced a starter on my daughter's 98 Plymouth breeze. It was upfront and very easy to do. Unscrew the bolts holding the starter. Make sure that you have your positive cable off of your battery. Unplug what I call the alligator clip from the old one and slip onto the new starter and screw the bolts back on the new starter and hookup the positive cable and crank the car. I am a female and I found it took me about 45 min to do and I am by no means a mechanic.

It is a pain to get to. If you pull off the kick plate and the knee bolster, you can then get to it. You have to lay on your back and locate the steering column bracket. It is almost directly above that. You have to reach up and find it clipped to a piece of the steel above that. Just reach up and wiggle it off of the bracket. After you've done this, you should be able to pull it down to detach the connector. If you can work your hazards or turn signals, it is easier to locate it by feeling for the sound. If it is flashing, you will feel the relay turn on and off.

It could be that you have a fault in the wiring to the ECU. In particular when the engine bay gets warm the resistance in the wiring can increase (I think that is right) This could effect the values of the inputs to the ECU, which in turn could try to compensate for the false readings being sent to it.

A malfunction has been detected

there is 3 wires to the starter disconnect them. Then remove the mounting bolts and detach the starter the reverse to installation

Access indicator flasher under instrument panel left of steering column. Remove screw retaining indicator flasher to instrument panel. Disconnect connector from indicator flasher and remove indicator flasher from vehical.

I am also trying to find flasher on 1997 t bird. I hear it but cant find it- Help please

The combination flasher unit is to the lower left of the steering wheel, in the area of the fuse and relay box.

I changed the marker light today on my 98 Ford Ranger. There is two screws under the park light. Take both screws out and pull on the marker light and the park light at the same time. It will all come out at one time. That gives you axcess to your bulbs.
