What is the horsepower of a small block 400?
400 is a fine engine, but you didn't say what the factory specs were, or it's original use, so I can't tell you what HP it could be, this is because that particular engine can be altered to say pull a boat, like in a truck use, or as a screamin de-stroke, 383, which is a fine street powerplant.
How to give more horsepower to a four hundred horsepower sixty liter engine Chevy?
A sixty liter engine has about 3660 cubic inches. If it only has 400 horses at those cubes you have a real doggy little motor. However, the answer to your question is the same for all engines of all types. Make sure they breathe; maybe supercharge it, ram charge it or turbo it. A rougher cam will add some spunk as will a wide open exhaust system. With 3600 cubic inches, tho, your ride ought to be pretty sporty as it is. <please correct your question. there are no sixty liter engines. you realize that the engnie would be bigger than your car.>
IF this is a Chevy, which timing marks do you mean?
IF you are talking about the cam and crank timing chain marks, and you lined them up 'together' (as close as possible to each other) then you are 180 degrees out in timing.
If you mean the mark on the balancer and its timing indicator then you cannot know without watching the valves operate. To do this:
NOTE: the rocker arms on a hydraulic lifter motor should not be 'loose' - if you can rock them from side to side or up and down then you are out of adjustment or the valve stem is worn (mushroomed). If you have solid-lifters, then you should not have needed to ask this question as they require an expertise well beyond simple timing issues.
Will my 1997 305 vortec heads fit on 1995 350 block?
Yes they will fit, but it will also raise the compression on you 350 by .5-.8. Also the gasket thickness and pstion, etc. will determine compression, also the valves are smaller, 1.885/1.5 i believe.
How do you apply on overhaulin?
Dear sir i like you people to get hold of my sister for my 1949 chevelot pickup.my sister is felicia brewster.i like to fixed my truck .i'm in oversea with the military david weir thank you.
The starter is either jammed in the open position and is already engaged in the flywheel and won't retract, or the motor is just plain burned out. You will have to pull it and take it to Auto Zone where they will test it for free for you. You can pull it and test it yourself by grounding it and applying power with a FAT HEAVY INSULATED cable and see if the end flies out, but it could do so out of the car but not have the strength to do it under load. It's probably shot, sorry to say. Phil

What would cause the engine not to reach normal operating temperature?
but only temporarily.
A thermostat functions to regulate the flow of water between the engine and radiator.
On an average outside temperature day (75 degrees), "no thermostat" would result in (1) the engine not reaching operating temperature in the normal engine warm up cycle time and (2) much later in the cycle the engine would overheat caused by the water not remaining in the radiator long enough to cool down. More extreme outside temperatures would impact the previous results.
No thermostat or a defective thermostat that is stuck open. Also could be a deffective coolant temprature sensor. Or air bubble aroune the sensor on some cars.

How do you replace the headlight bulbs in a 1998 Chevy full size pickup?
The Low Beam lights are the easiest. Open the hood, and look behind the headlight assembly. You should see the base plug at the base of the bulb sticking out from behind. The tabs on the plug hold it to the base of the light. Gently lift those tabs away from the base of the bulb, and the plug should just slide right out.
Then you have to grab the base of the bulb, and give it a quarter turn or so counter-clockwise, and the bulb is unlocked and can be pulled out of the socket.
When you replace the bulb, put the new one in in reverse order. Make SURE you use a paper towel or napkin to handle the glass on the new bulb as any dirt, oils, salts, etc on your hand can create issues that will cause the bulb to break when the bulb gets hot, so keep it clean!!! Insert it in the socket, and rotate CLOCKWISE 1/4 turn.
The highbeam comes apart the exact same way, HOWEVER.....The only way I found to get to the plug and access the hole in which the bulb goes in, is to remove the grill mounting screws, (Theres at least 3 sometimes 5. The three for sure are on tabs on top of the grill at either side of the front panel that the grill attaches to, and the third is under the bowtie emblem on the grill. If there are more, you'll have to find those, the 97 and 98 that I own have only these three, but Ive been told there may be 5 total screws depending on what may or may not be under the hood as far as options.)
When these screws are out, you can gently slide the grill out of the tabs that hold the BOTTOM of the grill in place. Dont pull it off all the way unless you disconnect the turnsignal light plugs from the sockets or youll tear the wires or break the mounts.
Once the grill is pulled forward, giving you access to the headlight assembly, you can reach the high beam lights from underneath the assembly. Again, these can be replaced exactly as the low beams.

It should be no lower than about 125 pounds but if it is even that is more important.
Anything above 100 psi is good, but not more than 200, because then you'll start blowing spark plugs out of their seats
