While being a Wal-Mart Manager pays well (a store manager can make $200k + per year, ASM make around $40-50k per year), being a manager at Wal-Mart is no easy task. Be prepared for 70 - 80 hour weeks, bitchy top-level management above you, as well as being the guinee pig for the store manager (unless your the store manager, then you are the guinee pig of corporate office).

In order to be considered for management, I would suggest working as an employee first, as they tend to hire from within. While working there, obtain a degree in business management (PHD degree is usually fine). While the degree is usually not required, it piuts you ahead of the other 10,000 people applying for mamagement at Wal-Mart.

Also, it helps if you "Work your way up". By this i mean don't hire on as a cashier and then apply for management 2 months later. You have a much better chance if you work with the company at least 2 - 3 years (which will give you time to get your degree). While there, try to work your way up to CSM (Customer Service Manager) if you start as a cashier, or Dept. Manager if your sales associate. Greeters, ICS and Cart Pushers have little chance of advancement, so my suggestion would be move to either Cashier or Sales Associate.

Generally, They are much more willing to promote CSM's, which means starting as a cashier is your best road to management. Dept. Manager is the same thing as CSM, only instead of front-end management they manage the different departments as well as floor staff.

Overall, to become a manager at walmart, you must have guts, determination, work experiaince in retail (preferable with the company), and usually a degree in business managment (You don't need an MBA, although this would not hurt I'm sure).

Just as a note i have seen people go from greeters and cart pushers up into management. True its harder to get recognition in positions like that but it's not impossible. I've been with wal-mart for about 16 months, and I started out in tle, worked there for 9 months, and then moved to ics, and last week I was promoted to ics supervisor. Hopefully in a year I will be headed into the training program. My advice to anyone tryin to move up, is to let it be known that your trying to advance and then work everyday to prove that fact.

I have just figured this out through fiddling with the watch. When you are setting the time, you keep pressing the button that makes the time keep going up. When you get past 24:00 hours, it goes into regular time (AM). You can tell because there is a big "A" underneath the time. Just continue going forward until you have the right time. I just did this, and the "A" turned into a "P" at 12:00 pm.

I found an amazing place to live for super cheap, but after receiving this guy's email, i researched this online just to check if it'd be a scam b/c it was too good to be true. I found people in Nigeria are working to scam people of rent money b/c wiring money. I also found another ad online for the SAME house at the a much higher price of $2500/mo. My red flags kept going up from there... read on....

This is what a "Matthew Bush" wrote back to me after I found an ad on craigslist.com for a $1200/mo, 1550 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath condo:

"Thanks for your email response.The Home is still available for rent for $1200.i am in West African,Nigeria and i will reside here for some time due to my current assignment.And we are on a campaign program to West African,Nigeria .i just need someone with an open heart,love and clean to occupy the home and put all my worries off concerning the maintenance of the home, since i am not residing there for now and presently my house is still available for rent for $1200 (per Month) including the utilities like hydro,washer,electricity and security.note that you are free to go and view the house but you will not be able to see the inside.below is the address to the house...

And then I asked him about why there were 2 different posts for the same condo at 2 drastically different prices. And i even called the other legitimate post and told them that there was another post for $1200 for the same condo and they said "No, it is $2500." I was thinking, why are there 2 posts and 2 different people trying to sell the same condo.... RED FLAG UP again! and "Matthew Bush" responds:

"yeah i also posted that but i need someone to occupy my house urgently..this is why i have to reduce the rent...so dont be worry and get back to me."

and then i sent him my rental application which is nothing more than name address, etc. no SSN, credit card #, license #, or anything important like that b/c I'm not that stupid. and he responded with:

"Good to hear back from you with the rent application.i will like you to know that i have accept you as my tenant due to the way you soumd. I am really happy you will taking care of my house.i will be sending the keys and lease to you through DHL EXPRESS as soon as you make the deposit payment through western union.so get back if you want me to send you the western union you will sending it into.
