How do you replace the intake manifold gasket on a 1990 4x4 Chevy 1500?
Hey Allan===It depends on what engine you have but both are probably the same labor wise. You really need guidance and the best is to get a manual from a parts store and it should have pictures and everything. GoodluckJoe
If you buy an Edelbrock, they come with instructions... Best tip is to insure a good seal, using gasket sealer. The front and rear are known to leak from not enough sealer....and make sure to use a torque wrench, tightening in order and to specs. Recheck and retorque if necessary at next oil change.
Good luck!
How do you replace exhaust pipe gasket for a 1997 K1500 43 V-6?
If you are talking about where the manifold meets the heads that is a lot of work. If you are talking about where there are two flnges pretty easy. There are usually three bolts holding together. I would replace bolts, nuts, and washers if posibble. Just take the nuts off, then you need something big to pry bake the exhaust, a really big screwdriver works good. Remove your old gasket and clean the surface as best you can. Get a new gasket and use some silicone. I forget who makes it but when you go to an auto parts store they make a bunch of different types of silicone. This one is copper, it looks orange and has to be high temperature. Apply this stuff to bith sides of gasket, reinstall. Install bolts and tighten. Let sit for a little while.
How do you change a fuel filter on a 1994 ford ranger?
Look under the drivers seat on the inside of the frame rail. Remove the clips and replace. The clip on the motor side of the filter (as opposed to the pump side) will need a quick disconnect release tool. You can find these at your local auto parts store. Put the tool on the output side of the filter, and push the tool toward the line, then, just pull the line off! Make sure you remove the filter housing piece or you will find the filter won't come out. There are two bolts directly under the frame rail holding the housing in place. Mine need a 13mm wrench to take the bolts off. This may or may not be necessary as some fuel filters are just held in by a clamp.

It's simply sucking in hot air from around the engine, either find a way to mount the pod filter near the front of the car where it can suck in fresh air, modify your airbox so that the pod filter can fit inside it and enclose it in there or you can mount it close to the ground IF YOU ARE ONLY TRACK RACING! If you mount the pod filter near the ground and drive on a dirt road, then you will more than likely suck up dirt into the engine and stuff it up!

It is very unlikely that would trigger P0455. More than likely it is a leak between the engine vacuum port and the fuel tank. Check your EVAP lines between the two especially near the canister purge solenoid located near the brake booster!
