Why would the blower control only blow on level 4 in a 2002 Jeep Liberty?
You probably have a faulty blower motor resistor. I believe it is located on bottom of heater box. This I also believe a dealer item.
How do you know if your heater core has gone bad?
usually bad odor, steam or fog on windshield and residue of coolant in floorboard of vehicle
Your '92 Mazda 626LX car heater and AC might work on lower settings but cut out completely on full power because of a faulty rheostat. The fan speeds will not work correctly when this part is bad.
Generally the high speed function bypass's the blower speed resistor. The high speed function uses a relay instead. I would start with checking the high speed blower relay.
Probably need to add antifreeze. Check the Radiator not the overflow tank. If you are low on antifreeze it will not circulate through the heater core.
Why does a car take so long to warm up?
Car heating systems usually rely on the excess heat generated by the engine to heat the passenger compartment.
There's a thing that looks just like a small radiator that sits in a fan shroud underneath the dash. When the engine has gotten warm, the coolant liquid that circulates through the engine and this little radiator also gets warm.
And by having a fan blow air through the radiator, you get warm air that can be directed out through the vents in the dash into the passenger compartment of the car.
There's a lot of metal in the engine that needs to heat up before the coolant is warm enough to heat the radiator enough for it to heat the air that you can send out into the cab.
If the techs can't find the problem when they have the car in their shop, why do you think someone at a computer in Timbuktoo or Kalimazoo can diagnose it? The most likely causes would be a blown fuse, a defective blower switch, blower motor or broken wire. But the techs should have found anything that obvious.
it is not a thermostat problem is an actuator located under the dash that lets the water pass through the heater core, all these cars got the same problem dude good luck...
Possible the thermostat installed upside down. Spring goes toward engine. Also may be air in the system. Bleed the cooling system with the heater set to hot. The heater core may also be stopped up.
the resistor has melted the variable settings. Replace resistor under passenger dash.
1996 cutlass supreme 3.1L overheats right away fans working no heat in car?
These engines have a problem with the lower intake manifold gasket material giving way causing the coolant to mix with the engine oil. You have no heat in the car because no water is running through the heater core- most likely. I've had two and they both had this problem.
Muddy engine oil is an indicator of an internal leak.
Stuck / blocked thermostat can cause overheating.
Air in cooling system could also cause problems. 96 has 2 coolant vents to bead the cooling system.
Do you need a block heater for a car in Alaska?
Yes and they make two kinds, one that goes in the radiator hose and one that goes into the block and both will work......
Why would it only get heat on the high switch for your car heater when it used to get it on all 4?
I had the same thing happen on a 2000 Stratus and it ended up being a bad heater blower control switch. I replaced the unit and everything worked great.
Answeri belive this would be a bad blower motor resistor check that because you car has two resistors for the heater one which controls low med and med hi and the other control only high for safety reasons basically so if you need to defrost your not left with out heatHow do you repair a heat duct?
Duck Tape Go to a home depot or lowes and buy aluminum peel and stick tape for a perm. repair
SOUNDS LIKE THE T-STAT IS STICKING OPEN SOMETIMES -TIME TO REPLACE IT-SHOULD FIX YOUR PROBLEM
Why does your heater blow cold air in your truck?
Low on coolant.
Stuck open thermostat.
Plugged heater core.
Faulty temp blend door.
I don't know what module you changed but it has nothing to do with the AC as far as I know.
Does the compressor run?
If it is running and you are getting no air the mix door in the heater may be stuck in the heat position, or the system may be low on r134.
If the compressor does not run you may also be low on r134 but the clutch may be bad, the compressor may also be bad, also check the AC switch as it may be bad.
What causes fumes to come inside car when heater is on?
Check inside the car undre the dash , check the heater core.
There is a little motor, a fan, and coils. These coils heat up with the motor causing heat that heat is then pushed by the fan into the direction you want it.
What needs replaced on a 2002 volkswagen jetta if the car runs hot but doesn't over heat?
The cap to the expansion tank (or a radiator cap) may need to be replaced. These go bad and allow the temperature to slowly start rising. Or maybe your existing cap is loose---try tightening it. Radiator or water pump. Check your maintenance schedule and see if you are due for a water pump/ timing belt. If the car has over 100,000 miles, the radiator can't hurt. DO NOT USE TAP WATER IN YOUR COOLING SYSTEM!!!!!!!! pre mixed 50/50 coolant or dilute with distilled water. Tap water is full of minerals which will buildup in the fins. Thats' my first guess, I need more info otherwise. Try changing the thermostat.
The heater will stop getting hot when you're low on coolant. If the coolant is low enough the engine will overheat and it will be severely damaged.
[first time answering questions] car heater works like the reverse of the normal cooling radiator - in fact the heater is like a small version of the rad that's on the frnt of the car - the hot water from the engine block goes into this small rad and the heater fan blows air thru it into the car - the hot heater rad loses heat into the car and - bingo - you get warm inside
