Car Starting Problems

There is a Plastic shield mounted directly over the top of the fan. You have moved this shield just enough for it to touch the top of the fan hub as it spins. you need to get back up the ladder and see what you need to do to move this shield back up away from the fan by a couple of mm. Cheers.

not really. as long as its a 14.4 volt battery you should be fine. but if your battery is too small, like a motorcycle battery, or the volts jus dont add up, then yes.

You do not have to reset the computer after this repair. If the Check Engine Light is on it is not because you made this repair. If you disconnected the battery the computer will reset itself.

That is correct, but using the term parallel is an overly confusing way of saying it. - You should connect positive to positive and negative to negative. This will retain voltage and increase capacity.

If you confuse the term 'parallel' with 'serial' and connect them positive to negative and negative to positive, you'd double the voltage and probably kill most if not all of the electronics in both cars.

So. How do you get it to start the next time? I say you have a poor battery or charging system, The AC fan is taking just enough to keep the battery out of full charge. fix it.

one or more of the spark plug wires might not be fully seated on the spark plugs. or you might have the wrong wire on the wrong plug.

check the pressure of your fuel pump!

I think that your problem will be in the starter. I think that the solenoid is not kicking the bendix into the starter gear. Check the wiring, check for a good ground. If that is not it pull the starter and remove the solenoid and replace it. Your local auto parts store can test your starter to see if it is working. Jeff

if you think its the starter, remove starter and bench test it. if you can't do this at home you take it to your nearest autozone or checkers and they can check it for you. if the starter is good. reinstall starter and try a remote ignition switch. you can find them for less than 10 bucks with 5 feet of lead wire and alligator clips. hook it up to stater. turn key on and start with remote and it should run. turn off key and try key start again. if it doesn't start that way you know you an ignition switch problem. this method should until you get a new switch.

I had same prob I tapped the side of starter litely with hamer and tried again to start and it started up it, ended up being the starter and I replaced starter, problem solved

I'm sorry if this sounds silly, but did you put the battery in backwards?

2 stroke engines are for the most part are used in motorcycles, boat engines, and other small engines. There have been a few 2 stoke engines used in Automobiles but very few and none that I know of at this time. None of the 2 stokes used in these applications even have a battery. All are started manually and no battery is needed. They use a magneto to supply electrical power to the engine.

need new starter or solenoid or starter relay. check the small wire on the lock clyinder and key is probely broken set of the securty system.

Have you had the vehicle code read. if not, check the crank sensor for position they do have a tendancy to move. getting it code read would be the first option though.

It sounds like your belt is loose or the brushes in the alternater are worn.When you hit the gas,the belt tightens some & on a higher rev,the battery puts more fire to the alternater but weak brushes wont accept it.Good luck, Cliff,Nova Scotia Or it is as simple as a fuse getting ready to blow!!! JUST had this problem yesterday!! For a few days it would take a few seconds for the power to kick on inside after I started the car, then yesterday NOTHING!! It was one of the fuses in the fuse panel in the engine right behind the battery! 75A Autozone didn't have it have to order it! Til then I have no gauges or lights inside or out!! But the car starts! Did you replace the fuel filter? Sometimes sediment will build up in a fuel filter and block the fuel. Also a stuck fuel pressure regulator can cause fuel pressure problems. I had the same problem. I had to take it to the shop where they replaced the PCM wires, which only cost 150$. Turns out the computer wasn't send a signal to the fuel pump to tell it to turn on. Hope this helps

More than likely you have a bad starter, I would suggest (if you have the tools) taking the starter out and having it tested at a local auto parts store.

Most likely it is just a dirty throttle body. After a while carbon will deposit around the throttle body butterfly valve and not allow it to close completely, a cold start usually requires very little air and more is sneaking past than the engine computer thinks there is. All this is dependent on the fact that you have good spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor ( if applicable ), and fuel lilter. When the engine is running the air/fuel is determined by detected air flow in the intake so idle will be faster than normal. When anything out of the norm happens like this it is generally a good indication that a tune up is due or past due.

Stuck? Key ? Fiddle with steering wheel and key at same time. Pressure of steering wheel in hard turned position can prevent unlock.
