What is wrong when I turn the key and the everything is normal except the engine won't turn over?
This has happend to me before. Hahaha. Well it might be that your keys are not programmed to the car. Also if you dont use it for a long time the key doesnt charge. Or it could be your starter

well sometimes from some experience iv'e had it can blow the engine as in the car stops working or the battery is dead and you need a new one or could possibly mean that the energy from the other battery someone let you used was a way different battery then yours and sometimes that can cause your car to stop working.......................hope that helped :)

Check the fuel pump fuse and relay first. If the fuse and relay are good then the pump is defective. No fire it a totally different issue and can be many things.
When replacing a starter on a 1991 sundance does anything else need to be replaced?
No, only if other problems are evident such as: You may have to change the starter cables, battery cables, or cables at starter relay (if equipped). these cables may be frayed, corroded or loose ends. not sure if that year starter has a selonide located on starter frame, or relay. you may have to take away shims between starter and mounting surface for proper alignment of pinion gear, and fly wheel, or sometimes add. May have to possibly change battery if starter drained it too much. Starter relay may have to be changed. selonide usually comes attached to new starter.
Why do you hear a gurgling noise from my car when I'm stopping?
The gurgling sound is caused by pressure in the engine coolant system(antifreeze) slowly releasing into the coolant overflow resevoir. Typically a faulty thermostat causes this sound.

You will have an improvement in engine performance and an increase in compression unless the compression rings on the pistons need replacement .

Most are thermo controlled newer cars & come on only when temp warm enough. Many also run after shut off for that same reason. If it's older & belt driven then it always turns but may/maynot have a thermo clutch.

This needs to be looked at by a professional and needs to be looked at 6 months ago. You have been driving this car in this condition for 6 months? A knock is normally associated with worn bearings. Keep driving it and it will self destruct.

If there is no spark on any plug, your problem is most likely in the distributor or the coil. I'd start by replacing the cap and rotor. If you already tried that, try again. Sometimes the parts guy can transpose a number and you get a rotor that is just a hair too short. (happened to me on a ford 302 HO). If that doesn't work, try replacing the coil and wires. Then on to the points. And that's all that makes up your ignition that would affect all 8 plugs at the same time.

If it is making a 'click-click-click' noise really fast when you turn it over, that means that either the solenoid, or the electronic ignition module is busted. Easy and cheap to fix.
If it is not making the click noise, check your battery connection thoroughly. You may need to pour some coke on your battery connections to remove crud.
If you get a jump, and your car starts, but then will not start again, this is because you must allow the alternator enough time to charge up your car's battery. Leave it running for a good 10-15 minutes without the lights or stereo on just to make sure you can start it up again once you get it going.
