How do I replace the windshield in a G20 van?

early g-20 has a rubber gasket. there is a split that opens up in the center of outside face. it opens up. windshield is then lifted out. You can use a cotter key remover to push gasket away from glass and slowly work glass back in. Be sure to use a lubricant like hand soap or silicone spray. be sure to use a non hardening caulk to seal before locking up. The cotter key remover will also press back lock back together.

newer vans have two metal centers and plastic beauty beads around glass. these pull out. The glass is glued in with urethane sealant. use music wire and cut out old windshield. clean channel out for moulding with razor knife. use urethane to re-glue windshield and mouldings.

The early van is easy but the newer van is a lot more technical especially if old mouldings are bad. I would suggest hiring a pro for the newer version.

What causes turn signal fuse to blow on 1995 Chevy G20 van?

Fuses blow because there is too much current. This is typically caused by a short circuit, but it can also be caused by too much load, perhaps from adding extra lights. It is also possible that corrosion on the fuse connector can cause heat, which would also tend to blow the fuse.

Check each of the light assemblies and make sure the bulbs are OK and that the wiring is not crimped, cut, or corroded. Sometimes, a wiring harness may go around the edge of a piece of metal and the insulation gets cut, causing a short circuit. It is also possible that the turn signal switch is bad.

Your Chevy G20 dayvan will travel for over an hour ok but when you turn engine off and try to restart it wont start leave it for afew ours then it starts fine why?

The van runs well for about 6miles about 15mins. Once warmed up it splutters and stalls. I will wait for about 3 mins before the engine will re-start. The engine will run for a few more miles and will splutter and stall again.

What are Symptoms bad gas in tank?

The vehicle will be running poorly or down on power for no apparent reason. The fuel will be contaminated from the internal rust building up over time since gasoline is acidic and eats away at the metal. The best way to tell is to physically remove the tank and inspect the internal surface for obvious rust and corrosion. This is very true of a vehicle has been sitting for long periods of time and especially if no additives were added to preserve the fuel. A quick way if the vehicle is carbureted is to remove the fuel line and attempt brief bumps of the starter to push some fuel thru the pump to drain into a clear container for inspection. Option two is to inspect the fuel filter if it is fuel injected.

Hi where is Idle Air Control Valve in 1995 Chevy G20 5.7L and is it possible to clean it?

I found the IAC valve on the throttle body right below the air cleaner and above the EGR valve. I removed it with a large wrench, 1 1/4" if I recall correctly and sprayed it down with carb cleaner and scrubbed it with a brush. I will probably use electrical contact cleaner spray the next time I clean it so I won't have to worry about the contacts.

How do you change an AC compressor on a 1990 Chevy G-20 van with a 350 engine?

The compressor should be removed with the bracket that holds it and then removed from the bracket once out of the engine bay. There is a small bracket that mounts on the front underside of the clutch that needs to be removed first (two bolts and one stud) then four bolts and one stud for the main compressor bracket.
