Where is the clutch safety switch a 1993 si del sol and how do i bypass it or remove it?
The clutch safety switch is located at the clutch pedal arm same as the brake light switch but slightly bigger.....To bypass the switch, just disconnect one wire or put a jumper wire accross the 2 wires to the switch depending on how the circuit was designed.......Since it is called a safety switch I won't recommend altering it....
Do you have to pull the clutch when shifting gears on a quad?
if there is a clutch there, you have to.
you pop a clutch typically when you have a standard transmission and you have a dead battery or bad starter.. this is done by pulling, pushing or rolling down a encline the dead vehicle with the key in the on position and in 3rd gear on trucks hold clutch in until momentum gets you rolling about 10pmh then release cluth pedal, this will allow the engine to engage the flywheel and fire up the engine like the starter would in normal situation..., keep in mind you need to have enough momentum for this to work well.
How much does it cost to replace a clutch in a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero Sport?
For the cost of the clutch kit itself, figure about $150 (if you have a 4 cyl 2.4L engine) and $250 (if you have the 3.0L V6 engine). These are approximate prices, for a good OE-quality clutch kit if you were to purchase yourself from an auto parts store. Prices will vary depending on brand, quality, etc. Labor cost will vary from shop to shop. I don't have labor estimates; perhaps someone else can chime in. Best bet, call your local shops to compare.
Where is the clutch master cylinder on a 1996 ford probe?
Pre 1997/9 models of Ford Vehicles were self-adjusting via the clutch-foot-pedal. The pedal engages a ratchet system called the QUADRANT & PAWL and is part of the pedal. The mechanism is very similar on older Ford models of: Escort, Fiesta, Sierra, Granada, Transit & others. Newer vehicles may have a Hydraulic Clutch from 1997/9 onwards, and these work differently from the cable & pully mechanism. Clutch-fluid can be bled to improve the ability to operate the clutch, however this is not necessarily a method of adjusting the clutch.
If your reading this article because you have a broken clutch-pedal then please read on.
If when pressing the foot-pedal it feels like cable is broken, or pedal is loose, ...This is symptomatic of failure of the QUADRANT & PAWL 'ratchet' mechanism due to wear of teeth on the ratchet.
In some cases the pedal fails to pull the clutch out far enough to change gear, and may make a 'springing noise'. This is due to slippage on some worn ratchet-teeth, but the mechanism has not reached full failure. There are 2 ways to remedy the fault.
1. Change the Quadrant & Pawl, using only genuine Ford parts. #Beware of inferior mouldings that are not up to standard e.g. too soft, and do not trust 'pattern-parts' on eBay etc.
2. SHORTEN THE CABLE.
How do you change a flywheel for a 1986 bronco 2?
this is a fairly big job 6 hours for someone who has done it a few time and as long as it takes for a new comer read this whole thing there are some wisdom coments at the bottom
well changing the fly wheel means dropping the trany pulling the clutch
first remove both drive shafts then unhook the clutch line to the slave on the top of the bellhouse this should be a small U shaper pin you have to pull out a piece of wire can be looped through and make it easier to pull it out
once that is out of the way take the tanny cross member out and the exhaust Y pipe needs to come out unless you have a body lift and put a jack or something under the transfercase then take out the bottom bell housing bolts and then the top bell housing bolts then you should be able to work the tranny back mind the bolts on the radius arm cross member you may need to back them down sometimes
once it is out then you will have 6 13mm bolts on the clutch and 6 16 or 17mm bolts holding the fly wheel on there should be blue locktight on the flywheel bolts
(WISDOM)things to notemake sure the fly you your putting on has been machined if it is used put a new pilot bearing in the fly your putting on unless it is new put new clutch on or at the very least a new clutch disk trust me it is worth it
the bolts on the drive shaft can be a pain spray them with wd40 or equivelent the night before put never sieze on these when you put them back trust someone will thank you later
when your putting the trany back in watch the clutch line it wants to be down there and it is easy to get it caught
when you take the thin aluminum plate off take care of it with out that plate you can't start your truck right

How do know the clutch is slipping?
Usually when you are driving down the road and you punch it, your RPM's will jump then go back down. I had this problem in my 1988 S-10 and about 2 weeks later the clutch went.

The flywheel is a large steel or aluminum disc. It acts as a balance weight for the engine, dampening engine vibrations caused by the firing of each cylinder and provides a surface that the clutch can contact. The flywheel also has teeth around its circumference for the starter motor to engage and crank the engine. The clutch disc is a steel plate, covered with a frictional material that is sandwiched between the flywheel and the pressure plate. The center of the disc is the hub, which fits the spines of the transmission input shaft. When the clutch is engaged, the disc is "squeezed" between the flywheel and pressure plate, and power from the engine is transmitted by the disc's hub to the input shaft of the transmission. A pressure plate is a metal spring-loaded friction surface that is bolted to the flywheel. It has a metal cover, heavy release springs, a metal pressure surface, and a thrust ring or fingers for the release bearing. The thrust ring or fingers release the clamping force of the springs when the clutch is disengaged. When the clutch pedal is depressed, the "Throw-out bearing" pushes the pressure plate's release fingers. The pressure plate pulls away from the clutch disc, disengaging the clutch, thus interrupting power flow. When the clutch pedal is released and the clutch is fully engaged, the release bearing is normally stationary and does not rotate with the pressure plate. Clutch operation is accomplished either mechanically or with a hydraulic pressure system. If a vehicle has a mechanically operated linkage, it will incorporate either a shaft-and-lever linkage arrangement or a cable. Systems that are made up of linkages, levers and pivot points are found primarily on older vehicles. These systems require regular lubrication and can only be designed to fit a limited range of configurations. A cable operated clutch mechanism is relatively simple. A cable connects the clutch pedal directly to the clutch release fork. This simple design is flexible and compact. There is however, a tendency for cables to gradually stretch and eventually break due to age and wear. On a hydraulically operated clutch, a master cylinder is usually directly operated by the clutch pedal assembly. A slave cylinder at the transmission is connected to the master cylinder by high-pressure tubing. The slave cylinder pushes either an operating lever or directly on the release bearing. Hydraulic systems require less pedal pressure and provide a smooth "liquid" feel to clutch engagement. Design configuration is very flexible and can very easily be adapted to most any required configurations Heres a video:

What happens when you burn the clutch?
There are several things that happen when you burn the clutch. The basic thing is that you are not able to engage the gear which means that you will not be able to move the car.
answer
pump pedal 1 2 3 4 to the floor hold, other person open screw on slave cylinder tssssit close screw then release pedal very slowly motion up,make sure reservoir wil not come empty, repeat repeat repeat in exercise motion verry well, until no more tssssit tssssit and it will be solid fluid ,gain
Is there any adjustment on 2004 jetta clutch?
yea in has a ajust ment shouldf be right were this clutch goess in if im not mistaken
Can a mouse ruin a truck clutch?
the answer is yes it could poo in the pipe and block the liquid from traveling round the pipes
The answer is more likely to be no, if a mouse chewed through a cluch hose the cluch would just fail to work, repairing the hose would repair the clutch.
It could if it isn't trained in the proper way to drive a stick-shift. The best way to teach him how to do it is to ride along side in the passenger seat and talk them through it. Be patient as it might take them a while to get used to it. Good luck with that. - Rocky_B
What might cause the clutch to stick?
More than likely you have a hyd. clutch and either the slave cylinder Mounted down at the transmission is bad or the master cylinder up in the motor compartment is bad. if it is cable operated you cable may be bad. there are other things that can happen but check this first.
How do you adjust the clutch on a Honda valkyrie?
Clutch is not adjustable. I would recommend changing the brake fluid in the clutch system and bleed the air out of it. If it continues to cause problems, rebuild the clutch master cylinder.

Why would there be a whining noise when pushing in the clutch pedal on a 98 Nissan frontier?
The clutch Throw Out Bearing is going bad.
Your 944 1985 4-cylinder clutch has to be pulled halfway up after shifting?
The clutch pedal has an assist spring and return spring. The assist spring tension must be adjusted to create a balance point at which the clutch pedal will over center and return to the fully disengaged position. It is also possible that the system may have air or the push rod attached to the pedal may be out of adjustment.
If you install the throwout bearing incorrectly it can hold the pressure plate open and there will be no mechanical linkage between the transmission and the engine.
Before you take it apart to check try adjusting the clutch linkage.
Yes it is most likely the clutch release bearing and i would say 400 to 600 is about normal for clutch replacement.
How do you know when your transmission is going?
The best way to tell is by checking the fluid. Check the color and odor of the fluid. bright red is OK ,and should smell like unused fluid. A brown color with a burnt smell indicates wear, no good. Drop the pan and see if there are metal filings in the fluid, no good. Slippage can just be an indicator of a band adjustment, and noises that you think are coming from your transmission can actually be coming from your differentials, u - joints, transfer case ..etc. In other words, sounds can be transmitted from one point to another, like putting your ear on a train track when the train is miles away...
Where is clutch fluid fill in tracker?
There is no such thing as "clutch fluid" on a manual vehicle. Your manual transmission requires gear oil. I believe 75-90 is a recommended fluid. It goes into your transmission, which is directly below your shifter under your vehicle.
There are two ports on it, one on the bottom side to drain, the other on the backside near the top. Open the top one, stick your finger in, if you don't feel any right away or it is filthy or foamy, drain it and change it... that's it.
How do you bleed rover 75 clutch?
To bleed the clutch of a Rover 75, first remove the interior panels on the steering column. Second, remove the master cylinder and use a syringe to inject the fluid into the system and repeat 4 times to bleed the clutch.
What is gap between flywheel and coil on a Murray 17hp riding lawnmower?
