19 mm 6-point socket, standard length not deep socket. goes on upper "nut" of idler tension arm. With 1/2" drive, pull towards front to relieve tension; remove belt from idler. Release tension. Complete removing old serpentine belt. Install new belt in same path, same side 'grooved'. Pull on idler arm (19 mm socket) to allow new belt onto idler arm. Check that belt is lined up with all grooves. Release tension; remove tools; done. from Queen Creek AZ.

tension pullys have a small square in the side that a rachet will fit in.. they are "spring loaded" and if you put a ratchet in it you should be able to pull it back with ease and remove the belt hope this helps

Below the intake manifold (the large air duct where you change the air filter), is the thermostat housing. The heater hose runs out of the thermostat housing, over the exhaust pipe, to the firewall between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment. Some have a metal section of pipe connected between the thermostat housing and the typical rubber heater hose.

Some radio's require you to enter the code (preset buttons) to reacivate a radio that has been removed. The sticker with the code on it was attached to the owners manual. If you re-install it and it will not work, without the code its dead (antitheft feature). There are plenty of used ones around as the factory supplied radio's were pretty bad. Find a used one advertized with the code, or buy and aftermaket unit

Are you sure you didn't hit the window lock on the control panel? Right beside the switches on the drivers door.

Follow the steering column down to the floor, there you'll see a u-joint fitting with rubber bushings. Spray there with WD-40 and the squeak will go away.

The Manual stated the approx fluid capacity is 1.9 liters (2 quarts). They recommended using MT oil # 12345349 or equivalent, it was suggested to me this is to be 5W motor oil, not gear oil.

Accessing the dashboard heater controls on 1996-2005 Taurus/Sables requires the integrated radio/heater control dash panel to be removed.

If you do, the answer is the same. If you do not, why didn't you ask why there is a block heater plug on diesels in general..

Try replacing the power window amplifiers. It is a black box about 2"x3". There is one in each door except the front driver's side door. They are not cheap from the dealer so try getting one from a local junkyard.Or it could possibly be the main control switch in the drivers side door. It is the box with controls for all the windows on.Mine was broken after I dropped the door panel while putting in speakers, it has a printed circuit board inside and none of the windows would work until I replaced it.It was $98 from the dealer but easy to put in myself Did you look at the link-fuses under the hood?? there are just inches of ther battery,, betwen battery and driver side fender,,, See ya!

Changing the transmission fluid in your LS should be performed by a qualified service technician. There is a fairly comprehensive procedure for servicing the transmission and it requires that the fluid be checked hot and cold. Too much fluid in your transmission will cause it to jerk when putting in and out of gear, the shifts will be choppy and it may even feel like its slipping, and finally there is an overflow valve that will cause the excess transmission fluid to leak out and onto the floor beneath the transmission. A qualified service technician will know how much fluid is enough and how to get it out.

most ford deiels have a block heater

take a look between front grill and radiator to see if an electric cord is rolled up and hidden there

pre 25 models the cord was in front of radiator on drivers side

most now are in front of radiator on passenger side

sometimes this cord is hard to get at as they are just rolled up and hidden there for shipping purpose

once you find the cord just unroll it, and position it thru grill or bumper for easy access when u want to use it

If it's like the 2005 Excursion, just peel back the arm rest cover where it swivels and there's one screw holding the whole assembly in.

could be the fuse, but the sunroof relay is above the sunroof switch attached to the motor, the relay is a possible answer to the sunroof not working.
