Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer

we got about 150,000 cross country miles on a 1999 before we had to replace the engine. I have over a 130,000 and going strong 1998

I'm a mechanic and have an Eddie Bauer 98 and i have 151,000 with no engine trouble. Ive had the suspension serviced (air ride), replaced the spark plugs and wires and did synthetic blend oil changes myself whenever it was time. I have a 98 Expedition (Eddie Bauer) with just over 245,000 miles. No engine problems. Alternator and Heater Core have been replaced, but no other major problems.

I would suggest using Techron if you want something to put in the tank once in a while. (not more than once a year or 15000 miles whichever is less)

If you think you have a dirty injector or carbonized intake valve, go for a Motorvac CarbonClean treatment with Motorvac detergent. It works.

basically just like a brake job on any other vehicle, remove the caliper, remove the pads, compress the cylinder and put the new ones in and slide the caliper back on, I've got a 1980 power wagon so its easy

The 8" round subwoofer in in the back hatch, passender side. Remove plastic panel. Cut out old, nonfunctioning subwoofer. Be careful to disconnect wiring to re wire new unit. Then the really HARD part. There is a metal casing that need to come out. The flathead screws are cemented into the magnet so we drilled the screw heads old and removed the metal casing with a claw hammer. Then the heavy magnet is still a problem and embedded into a plastic molding inside that chamber. So ............... we used a crowbar to pop it out. Throw the old away. Connect old witring to new subwoofer. Screw into the exhisting holes and turn on the radio. What a GREAT sound! Didn't know we missed it so much. Really was easy to do except for the drilling and crwobar part. But................. it saved us $60 installation fee and we got NICE subwoofer on sale. Hope this helps you .

what year? i have a 2007 and I'm trying to find out the same thing. I know there's a screw hiding under a cap in door handle, then the bottom will pry outeard. Not sure about the top half though

I am assuming you want to know why your flasher is not working. The flasher is run off the turn single fuse it should be listed on the fuse block or fuse diagram if the fuse is good check your flasher some 95 flashers are 3 prong round canister type and others are five prong plastic black box type. either way they would be in the same place on your car. Here is a copy of what I answered for a 1997 intrepid flasher question. "The turn signal/hazzard flasher is a small unit ( little black box, 5 prongs ) Located between the fuse box and brake peddle on a braket under the drivers side air conditioning duct. At some point and time in 1995 dodge swiched over in the middle of production so some 95 intrepids and 96 and 97 should all be the same. The repacment flasher is Tridon Stant EP27. I had a lot of trouble finding it myself when I first bough my 1995 used None of the turn singles worked and we had to get a flasher which we finely found from PEP BOY's for $12.99 Tridon Stant part # EP27. Dodge wanted $31.70 for the same Chrysler flasher part # 47600060. "

Unfortunately, you will have to remove the door panel to gain access to the latch assembly. I am actually going through this right now. Remove the door pull (where the power window switches are), the trim around the door handle, either the factory tweeter or the trim by the outside mirror, the speaker, then the 3 screws in the speaker area that hold the door panel to the door. Now, gently pull the bottom center of the door panel to pull the clips out of the door shell. Once they pop, work your way around to get all of the clips but the ones behind the dashboard. Pull the rear door panel away from the door and at an upwards angle. I found that it's easiest to actually get the panel out by rolling the window down and standing outside the car for the next step. Pull pretty hard as you will either need to break the one clip or the clip attaching point to the door panel. Now, the door panel will come out of the car. You have access to the back side of the door latch assembly at this point; you may have to destroy it to gain access to the latch release. That's OK because your latch in the car right now is junk anyway. Once you get the door open, make sure the window is up and remove one 10 mm headed bolt from the bottom of the window rail that covers the latch. Swing it up inside the door and tape or zip tie it out of the way. Now, unclip all of the linkages. Finally, remove the 3 #3 Phillips screws that hold the latch in and take the latch out of the car. Reverse process to replace; this time you can put the door panel on with the door open, though.

Pay a Ford dealer to have them read the code, usually about $75-$100 (2008 money) or bring to Auto parts store to have them read for free or buy your own a code reader. Dealer's code reader is far more sophisticate than the one at the Auto parts store, it could retrieve the erased codes, or any past history that is stored in the car computer.

Hi-

My hazards were working, but my blinkers would only flash for 1-2 flashes and then stop.

-checked all my bulbs

-checked the fuses 1, 23-27 (per other discussions)

-figured it was the flasher unit

-had a hard time finding it...

Found the flasher for my 2003 ford expedition-

Sitting in the drivers, the flasher unit in on the left side under the panel (if you put your hazards on you will be able to hear it and feel where it is).

I took off the panel under the steering wheel and reached my arm up the the left side. This is where it got tricky- it is under a plastic box. Put your fingers around the sides of the box and push in and the little black box cover should pop right off. I was then able to pull the old flasher off and install the new one:)

-Blinkers worked!!!

-All with 4 kids running around the garage!
