I assume they are not working. To see if the thermo switch is bad, turn the A/C on. The fans should then run. If they do not, the problem is more than likely a blown fuse. If the fuse is good, it may be the fan is bad. Connect a wire to the fan from the + battery terminal. If the fan runs, it is good. It basically boils down to three components. Fuse, Fan, Thermo Switch. One of these is bad, or you have a loose or corroded connection.

If your window moves "somewhat freely" using your hands but the motor sound still goes, it is off the track and you need to take the door apart. I have been having numerous problems of this type. Perhaps the "Bendix" or more commonly referred to as the starter solenoid-mounted atop the starter may be stuck. A quick way to check this is take the starter off and take it in for a bench test. If that is the problem. A simple rebuild may fix the problem. Cost about 45 bucks or so. Further, maybe it is the solenoid relay-located on the left front interior fender, behind the battery. However, if it is the relay, be careful to replace the wiring between the old relay and the new relay one wire at a time exactly. Otherwise, it may create a whole new confusion.

This happend to mine, so Im guessing you have the same problem. Under the hood and in the back, along the firewall. Close to the top and middle you will see a vacuum tree. Check there for any of those lines having a tear or just came off. One of my hoses had dry rotted. An air leak there will cause your defrost to not work
