There may be air in the brake lines and it must be bled out. The other concern is that your brake fluid should be completely changed out on older vehicles. After a few years it may be contaminated as it does have an affinity for moisture which will severely impede brake performance.
Where is the glove box light on Gmc Envoy?
Sorry but there is none. I have a 2004 Envoy and spent the better part of half hour looking for the bulb socket. I took half the dash apart and it does not exist. Kind strange because my Chilton manual actually shows pictures of taking the glove box out and the unscrewing the trim panel yet they never actually show the socket so I still don't think it exists. I did just order a socket and a bulb and a pressure switch for it and intend on installing my won. I'm going to put one in the center console glove box as well. It's very annoying that you pay 35-40k for a vehicle and there's no glove box light. It would also have ben nice if they installed a couple of lights down below the dash where your feet go like in a lot of cars but apparently the guy who installs them had the day off the day my car was being made. I always wonder if there are some Envoy's that came with lights in the glove box.
How do you program the garage door opener in a Honda accord 1998?
Here's what I found on www.homelink.com which makes the technology for the garage door openers in Honda's. BTW, the instruction worked for my 2000 Accord:
First time programming
1. For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash after 20 seconds.(Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.)
2. Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink surface (located on your overhead), keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
3. Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold both the desired HomeLink button and hand held transmitter button. DO NOT release until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly. When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released.(The rapid flashing indicates successful training.)
Note: Some garage door openers may require you to replace step 3 with the "cycling" procedure noted in the "View Canadian Instructions" section.
4. Press and hold the trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
* If the indicator light is solid/continuous, training is complete and your device should activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
* If the indicator light blinks rapidly for 2 seconds and then turns a solid/continuous light, proceed with the following training instructions for a rolling code device. A second person may make the following steps quicker and easier. Please use a ladder or other device. Do not stand on your vehicle to perform the next steps.
5. At the garage door opener receiver (motorhead unit) in the garage, locate the "learn" or "smart" button (usually near where the hanging antenna wire is attached to the unit). If there is difficulty locating the training button, reference the garage door opener's manual or contact us.
6. Press and release the "learn" or "smart" button (the name and color of the button may vary by manufacturer). NOTE: Once the button is pressed, there are 30 seconds in which to initiate the next step.
7. Return to the vehicle and firmly press and hold the trained HomeLink button for two seconds and release. Repeat the "press/hold/release" sequence up to 3 times to complete the training process.
Where is the coolant thermostat located on a 2002 GMC Envoy 4.2 liter engine?
At the top of the main radiator hose. Just like most cars. This is where it must be in order to prevent and allow coolant from entering the engine.
How do you set the garage door opener for a 2000 Jaguar XK8?
Short answer: Hold the built-in button down and your garage door remote control button down at the same time and near each other. The built in will flash slow then fast once it gets the code (takes up to 1 min). - that's it - but... I have a Genie Garage door opener and remote and I had some problems that figured out (don't want to rewrite it here) so I cut and paste this: (sent to Genie) Just wanted to let you know that I figured out how to use my XK8 built-in garage door opener but there was a glitch that I had to work through. I actually had to program the built in remote with my Genie Intellicode Transmitter (GIC/GIT-1,2, or 3) (that worked to program my built-in remote but it wouldn't work on the genie pcg650 garage door opener?) I then used your Rcvr Programming Instructions to program the "genie pcg650 garage door opener receiver" with the cars built-in opener (that I had just programed with youf Intellicode remote. Beleive it or not when I was all done the intellicode remote and the Car's built-in remote both worked. It was like the built-in remote got the correct code but the receiver had to learn that it was OK to accept it from the built-in? Anyway, your sight helped a little and I thought you could help others with this info. Thanks Danny
How do you replace sway bar links on a 1992 GMC?
Most of the time, the old links are corroded together, and it's much easier to use a cutting torch to remove them. Once they are removed, install new links & bushings (bolt, washer, rubber, sway bar, rubber, washer, sleeve, washer, rubber, control arm, rubber, washer, nut)
Do you have to prime the fuel filter on 2005 4.2 lt gmc envoy when you replace it?
It is in the fuel tank in the 05 model year.
On a 2002 Envoy you turn the key to run but don't start it. Then push and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. The change engine oil light should blink for 5 seconds meaning you have reset the system. If it doesn't blink for you do the procedure again. I'm pretty sure its the same on a 2003. Good luck.
Where is the map sensor for 2002 gmc envoy located?
It doesn't have a map (manifold absolute pressure) sensor. It has a maf (mass air flow) sensor and it is located in the air intake snorkel between the air filter box and the throttle body.
How many fuse boxs on 2006 gmc envoy?
TWO. One under the rear seat on the driver side and one under the hood.

What can cause a high cooling fan speed error in a 2002 Trailblazer?
These errors are caused by software problems in the PCM. General Motors warrants this defect for unlimited mileage. Take your vehicle to a dealer for a free PCM upgrade to correct this and NUMEROUS other concerns (stalling, high idle, high fan speed, shift problems)
This is garbage- GM will tell you get real- totally rubbish. The problem lies in their monopolized parts (Dealer stock item only) Common problem - expensive part (entire fan assembly) and labor- (entire front end disassembly) I paid appx. $600.00 for this error code to be cleared. Good luck!
EVERYONE SHOULD BE AWARE THAT IF YOUR PCM FAILS IT IS COVERED UNDER THE (LONG TERM) EMISSIONS WARRANTY. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED. IF THE DEALER WANTS YOU TO PAY FOR A NEW PCM THEN CALL THE 1 800 NUMBER FOR CHEVY (ON THE WEBSITE)
This two answers helped me a great deal. I had the exact same problem on my 2003 Trailblazer. The check engine light came on, I took my vehicle to autozone and they told me the code was P0495 (cooling fan speed high)but they did't know how to fix the problem. After loking at this two previous answers, I called the dealer and they told me that it would cost me $89.00 to reprogram my PCM. I took my vehicle to the dealer and before checking my vehicle, the mechanic noticed the noise my vehicle was making (like a jet engine) and told me that in addition to reprograming the PCM I needed to replaced the fan clutch. The total cost was going to be $747.00. I didn't have the money so I went home and looked on eBay. I purchase a brand new fan clutch for $130.00. I am not a mechanic and it took me about two hours to replaced the fan clutch. You need a 12" crescent tool to remove the fan clutch from the water pump pulley. After replacing the fan clutch, I was on my way to the dealer to reprogram the PCM but noticed that the vehicle was working great so I skip the dealer and went to the 7 eleven and got me a six pack to celebrate. My vehicle is working like new. I hope this could help somebody out there. Good luck
I have the EXACT same problem. My local Chevy dealer wants to charge me $800 to repair! I looked at the fan clutches on eBay (ZBRA) for $130. I noticed they have an electical connection but I couldn't quite see one on my clutch fan. Am I just not seeing the connection or is it possible that I don't have one. If I don't have a connection, is there a place to plug-in the new one? ALL 2002+ TRAILBLAZER/ENVOY/BRAVADA/SAAB 97X ETC HAVE A FAN CLUTCH ON THE I6 ATLAS ENGINE AND THERE IS ALWAYS AN ELECTRICAL CONECTOR TO IT. LOOK FOR A DANGLING WIRE THAT MAY JUST CONNECT TO A PLUG ON THE SHROUD.
If you do not know when it was changed last I would highly recommend you go ahead and change it. With this many miles on the odometer it just makes good sense to not take a chance.
A lot of times with the computerized niceities on vehicles "OC" means open cicut. Trace the wire and look for a broken/disconnected/or loose wire (it could be a live or active wire)) Open Circut on these units means that the sensor has failed.
The above problem is correct, but the actual problem is a sensor behind the grill. It is grey or black in color, it is the ambient temperature sensor. The cost is about 60 bucks dealer only item. To get to this sensor you will have to remove the front grill there are six screws, you will also have to unplug the headlight washers if equiped. The whole process will take about ten minutes.
The Camshaft position actuator solenoid controls the exhaust camshaft retard position. From 0 to 25 degrees. It is driven by a pulsed electrical signal from the ECM... much like that of a fuel injector. It is located on the front-passenger's side of the motor... on the head. Removal requires the partial removal of the steering pump. It is prone to failure mainly due to debris in the motor oil that flows into it. An oil change and/or removal of the solenoid actuator to clean of the screens of it can sometimes resolve a related DTC.
How do you replace the front sway bar link?
Replacing sway bar links is relatively easy for the 'average' do-it-yourselfer; although it can be frustrating trying to replace them on your back.
They are usually loacated on the lower control arms as a long 4-6" bolt or PVC rod connected to the sway bar itself, which rides along the undercarriage of the car and connects to the opposite control arm in the same manner. It is, essentially, a torsion bar that refers weight to the opposite side when you are cornering to maintain steering control.
Depending on the year of your Taurus and the configuration of links that you have; as well as if it is already broken or not; first spray it down with penetrating oil and let it soak to make removal easier.
Raise the front end EVENLY and brace the control arms with jack stands (the hanging weight on the control arms can help keep the bolts from spinning when you start to loosen them. The floor jack braces will keep the control arms from falling too far once the bolts are loose.)
Once the old parts are removed, replace with new pieces from your kit in the reverse order. Rather than trying to pry down on the sway bar (to make the bolts reach), lower the car VERY GENTLY with the jack stands in place until you can tighten them properly (according to the directions in the kit).
Once they are properly tightened, raise the car enough to remove the jack stands; lower the car, and you should be good to go. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have the alignment checked, too.
How do you remove the resonator from a 99 vw passat 1.8t?
Unfortinatly you have to cut it of. There isn't a sleeve like the DownPipe. Get a Downpipe-back exhaust, or cat-back!
My Envoy has the inline 6 cylinder and gets about 22mpg on the highway. I'm not sure about city driving but it isn't much less. If I had to guess I would say 17. Both are acceptable to my in exchange for the comfort that comes with my Envoy. I noticed that the gas mileage goes down considerably if I "get on it" too much. If you are driving the Envoy hard, like taking off fast from stop lights or hitting passing gear quite a bit when your out on the highway that would have a significant impact on gas mileage. It does with my Envoy. I drive like an old man. I cruise at about 70 mph on the highway and the tachometer is right around 2000 rpm. Maybe a little below that. In town I drive the speed limit and accelerate at a normal speed too. I never hit the accelerator so hard that the transmission drops a gear and the engine rpms jump up by a few thousand rpms. If your driving habits are like mine then I would check the oxygen sensor.
How do youReset envoy security system?
There could be many reasons for this failure. Normally it is caused by a faulty passlock sensor. The ONLY way to be certain is going to be by using a class 2 scan tool with the ability to read more than simple check engine lights. The security light blinking is much like a check engine light and with this tool you can find the trouble code associated with the no start condition. There is a simple relearn procedure that you can try. It may work, but if it doesn't you are going to be stuck getting this to someone with the proper diagnostic equipment to find the failure. Here is how the relearn is done.
transition from OFF to CRANK).
ImportantThe vehicle learns the PasslockTM Sensor Data Code and/or password XX the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
Even if this does work, i would still have the vehicle looked at as it may happen again and be permanent. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you prefer a second opinion. Good luck!

How do you remove the factory radio of a 2002 GMC Envoy?
Go to www.trailvoy.com Join the forum and get realtime answers or look for the "how to" articles in the articles section. They have complete instructions with pictures to guide the way. Say that BlazerNut sent ya! If the set up is the same as in a 2003 Envoy with the vents directly above the radio, that panel is one piece and should come off by grabbing the top of both vent holes with hands and pulling the panel towards you away from dash. Once panel is off, disconnect wires any wires and panel should completely be removed. Unscrew bolts by factory radio and pull out unit and unplug wiring harness.
