For your engine size and SOHC it's 5.0 qts. If it's a DOHC you need to put 6.0 qts according to the manual that I have.

Remove the caliper and the caliper mounting bracket. Next look closely at the center of the rotor around the wheel studs, some cars have a small countersunk Allen bolt as a safety here, if your car has it remove it. After that you just need to bang them off. They get corroded and can be very difficult to remove some times, just hit them with a big hammer, don't be afraid. This is hard to describe but you don't need to try to hammer the rotor off you only need to break it loose by swinging TOWARDS the vehicle and hitting it where the pads contact, keep hitting it at opposite sides. Have you ever removed the lug nuts off a car and had to slam the outer edge of the tire inward to break the frozen wheel loos? Well that's basically what you need to do with your hammer to the rotor, it shouldn't be too difficult, and the rotor is only bolted to the vehicle by the rim once the lug nuts are tightened down.

in the 98 model you have to find the tensioner pully (the one that doesn't look like it actually does anything). it's the one that keeps your belt tight to run your accessories i.e. a/c, alternator/ blah blah. find the right size socket for the front nut in the center of the pulley in the front, and torque it counter-clockwise? one way or another. when you turn it the right way the pulley will actually dip down and release tension on the belt (don't be scared to put a little weight into it). once the tensioner is depressed pull the belt off the rest of the pulleys. well if you don't know what an alternator looks like look for a cylindrical housing with a pulley facing toward the front of the car with slits going all around the circumference of the back of the cylinder. poor description but hopefully helps. anyways... find the 2 mounting bolts and remove. 1 will be for locking the tension after the belt is reinserted. replace. tension pulley down, belt back on, and tension pulley up. done

Not hard at all. For the rear shocks just crawl under the vehicle, unbolt the shock from the top and bottom, pull it out, and replace it. For the front it's about the same, only difference is that you'll have to jack it up and remove the tires to get to them.

the VIN is a long alphanumeric sequence that is stamped into the engine compartment either on an inner wing or the bulkhead. it will also be in one of the front footwells under the carpet and probably on a metal tag inside the windshield. The manufacturer should use that to determine what the original key was

Does the cable release under the rear seat release the hatch/ If not the cable is bad.

The alarm will go off if the keyless entry has quit working. the keyless entry and alarm module is behind the glove box in the right corner. There is no way to bypass this module. The dealership will charge you out the ass for a new one. But back to the point, the key will disable the alarm. When the alarm goes off when you unlock the driver or passenger door, lock the driver door and unlock it again with the key. It should go off the first time you unlock it, but if it doesn't, lock it and unlock it again. This should disable the alarm. Atleast it does on my Rodeo.

I don't know specifically about your Liberty, but rotors are often hard to remove and usually have several useless-looking threaded holes drilled in them on the outer face near the hub. The purpose of the holes is that you can thread properly sized bolts into them and then turn the bolts to "pop off" the rotor. So you might look for those.

Yes, the transmission on a 1998 Honda Passport is a sealed transmission, which means it has no dipstick and it only has one plug located underneathe the vehicle on the transmission itself. You have to drain and fill the transmission through the same hole. So you need to take it to a shop where they have a machine which will do this.

If the Airbag light is on, then there is more than likely a problem with the SRS. You may or may not have a working SRS. Attempting to repair this yourself can be dangerous. You may inadvertently deploy the air bag. I would suggest you take this to a professional and have it looked at. i have been working on same problem and to reset airbag module i took it to dealer but under dash above gas peddle there is a gray 2 prong connector take a wire and stick in both sides and turn key to run position and wait a few seconds and u will hear a click next to gas peddle and when u do the module is reset.If this dont work,and it didnt on mine i had to replace it.But try to reset it first cost me 90$ to find out how to reset it.hope this helps. rod0708

i have a 2002 Honda accord, and my manual says 105,000 miles.... but, i am at 101,000 miles and about to get mine done in the next two weeks b/c i am paranoid-- it will completely screw up your engine if the timing belt breaks. my advice is, if you are anywhere near 105K miles then i would get it replaced ASAP.

yes you can clean it with a bit of gas and a nylon brush. let it air dry for about a 30 min. period. Make sure it is completely dry when you reinstall it. This is a temporary fix for about a year or so. what causes it to malfunction is carbon deposits. gasoline will break it up when you brush it with a nylon brush. do not!!! use a wire brush as this will damage the sensor and could cause a spark and catch fire in your hand. not a good thing to happen. hope this helps
