2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse Programming

1. Locate the Data Port under drivers side dashboard usually located to the right of steering column.

Pins numbers are as follows:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16

2. Insert keys in ignition and leave in the OFF position.

3. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 and connect the Data

Port terminals 1 and 4 with a suitable jumper wire, leave the jumper wire connected

throughout the programming procedure. Make sure you know which terminals are 1 and 4.

4. Within 10 seconds after connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch 6 times.

Note: The doors will automatically lock and unlock once at this time indicating that

the system is in the programming mode.

5. Press the LOCK button on the remote to be registered three times within 10 seconds.

Upon successful programming, the door will lock and unlock once.

6. Repeat step 5 with up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes) within one minute.

After completing each programming, the doors will lock and unlock once.

7. Disconnect the programming wire and remove the keys from the ignition..

Please read all of the information provided thoroughly. This is designed to

try and assist you in the successful programming of your remote in a minimal

amount of time with little frustration. Procedures vary from vehicle to

vehicle. Some are easier than others. Some require skills not everyone has.

All remote programming must be done with the vehicle. There is no way to

pre-program any remote to a vehicle in advance. Nearly all vehicles require

all remotes you intend to use for a given vehicle to be present, and to be

programmed at the same time. In most cases all previously programmed remotes

will no longer be operable once the procedures have been performed for your

new and existing units.

NOTE: Prior to beginning the programming procedure sequence,

be certain to turn off all fans, and any other vehicle devices that may

be operating, especially radar detectors as these items may prevent

the proper programming of keyless remote fobs. Absolute silence is

often very helpful and necessary in order to hear any small lock

cycling noises on many vehicles, especially many Honda's & Acura's.

Heavy traffic noise, barking dogs, or crying children may make it

very difficult to impossible to accomplish the task.

Programming the remote is usually a two step process.

Step one is to get the vehicle into the programming mode.

This makes the vehicle ready to accept the remotes. On many vehicles

you do not even need the remote until you get to the second step. A few

vehicles programming procedure requires a mechanical ability and an understanding

of terms used in the instructions. If you have no mechanical ability,

or are not familar with terminology, then you need to seek the assistance

of QUALIFIED HELP to get these done. We will not be able to teach you about

the terms and procedures involved. Most vehicles are much more simple

than that, but will generally require some persistance and determination

to get them done. It can be frustrating at times, and often takes us numerous

tries to get these done. Do not be dismayed. Read the instructions thoroughly,

and try to understand them before making any attempt to actually accomplish the

programming. You can not do the sequence once or twice and throw your hands in

the air and say "it does not work." With a little perseverance and a thorough

understanding of the procedures, most folks are able to get this done in a

relitively short period of time.

Step two is the actual programming of the remotes to the vehicle.

In most cases, If you did not get the vehicle into the programming mode,

then you are not even up to the remotes themselves yet. You may have an issue

with the car itself and more likely you have made an error in the procedure.

Sometimes going faster or slower can be the key to success.

Numerous people swear they have followed the procedures "to the letter,"

and are not successful with the programming. Most often, they have not

actually followed the sequence properly. Any small error in sequence, or

exceeding mentioned time limits will result in a failure to obtain the

desired results. If the timing is very short, and you have to go back and

read the instructions, you have in all likelyhood exceeded the time limits

and you will be unsuccessful. Some people still have difficulty and just

can not follow the instructions. We suggest you find a very good locksmith

in your area or go to your local dealer for assistance. Locksmiths are

usually somewhat cheaper than dealers.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If at any time you mess up the sequence or exceed the timing

mentioned in any instructions, start the vehicle, then turn it off, remove

the key, and close any open doors to reset the vehicle back to square

one. Then begin the process anew. This must be done prior to each and every

attempt at programming! Failure to do so will only result in frustration as

you will not be successful in your next attempt either.

Many programming procedures call for the ignition to be placed in the " on "

position. This is turning the key so the dash lights illuminate....the so called

"idiot lights," come on. This is the position right before you would engage the

starter to start the vehicle. YOU DO NOT START THE VEHICLE !

First, which engine are you talking about? Better yet, I'll just say yes. Fit and finish, A Dodge Stratus is exactly like a Mitsubishi Eclipse all the way down to the lug nuts. The only difference is badging and exterior.

Firstly, the loss of acceleration that you are used to having, and second, most likely an irritating scraping noise when it turns.

Turbo's usually last for about 150,000 miles of normal use. If the driver continually does fast accelerations every time and all the time, the life decreases by a third.

The evaporator drain tube for a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse is typically located on the passenger side of the vehicle. It can be found underneath the dashboard, towards the firewall, where the air conditioning evaporator is situated. The drain tube allows condensation from the A/C system to escape outside the vehicle. If you're having issues with water accumulation inside the car, checking this drain for blockages may be a good first step.

You need to put oil in your Engine!! Do not use youe vehicle until you do as you maybe fitting a new Engine!!!!

I removed the entire power antenna assembly and could not find any way possible to separate the mast from the motor assembly. Odd, since Mitsubishi sold me an antenna mast.

There isn't really a set pressure it can handle, it all depends what is done to the motor. If it's completely stock, not more than 15 psi because the fuel system can't keep up with much more. Upgraded fuel system and turbo, you can do over 20. I have a 1990 tsi with fuel upgrades, bigger turbo etc, but stock internals and I'm pushing close to 23 psi.

In order to change the lifters you must remove the Valve cover. I believe it is held down with 10mm bolts. After you remove the Valve Cover you till see the lifters. There are 16 of them. 8 close to you the 8 closer to the wind shield. I highly recommend you use a pair of clamps to hold your timing belt to the wheel because you can potentially knock your timing out of whack. After you have removed the valve cover gasket and have secured your timing belt you will need a small crowbar or some type of tool for leverage and a 10mm or 12mm socket to remove the braces over the rocker arms, rocker arms are what set on top of the lifters. There will be 2 bolts holding each brace on. Start from the left and work to the right ( if facing the engine ). After you remove the brace use your pry tool and pull the rocker arm off of the lifters. After you have the lifters will pull right up. Drop your new one in and replace the rocker arm and the brace. Go down the line doing so. Be careful as you get close to the timing belt wheel. Are you talking about taking a 4g63 out and putting a 420a in? If so, i don't understand, why at all, you'd do that.

the 2.o may be on the air intake by the mass air sensor or if its the spyder with the 2.4 its straight back from the center of the car

An intercooler is placed in the airflow path between the turbocharger and the engine intake in order to cool the air after it has been compressed by the turbo. Compressing air heats it up. By cooling it back down, the air becomes denser. This means more air molecules go into the cylinder. This (when mixed with the proper amount of fuel) increases engine power compared to a non-intercooled engine.
