How do you get starter out of 1992 Nissan Pathfinder?

disconnect neg. battery terminal, remove wires from starter solenoid( starter located on rh side of engine as you are sitting in the driver seat, solenoid is smaller cylindrical metal and attached to starter.) remove starter mounting bolts 2-( 1 top and 1 bottom) Too bad it's not that easy. You have to then drain the oil to take off the oil filter, take off the exhaust manifold heat shield, and take out the oil pressure switch. Then, you can take out the starter by the passenger side engine mount. An alternate way of doing this would be to take it straight out after remove the bolt holding the engine wire chasis and stabilizer bar. This may take less patience, but it is more work so I wouldn't recommend it.

Where is the PCV valve on a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder?

Why can't you get your 2003 Pathfinder to shift out of park?

How do you replace the shift knob on a manual 1993 Accord?

In order to take the shift knob off a manual 93 Accord get one or two(I used two, across from each other) flathead screwdrivers and place in between the bottom of the knob and top of plastic chrome ring. The knob should pop up, get the boot off the two tabs on the knob and unscrew

How do you change a headlight in a 1993 Nissan 100nx?

It's a lot easier that I expected it to be. The good news is you need no tools whatsoever. This comes from experience with my 1995 model, but I suspect it's exactly that same. It's most likely the same on a Nissan Bluebird as well, on which the 100NX is based and shares many components.

Open the bonnet, and behind the headlight, you will see where the wires are connecting into the light fitting.

First, you should be able to see a roundish, rubber covered plug which connects to the three pins on the back of the bulb. This just pulls free; you might have to wiggle it a bit. You should now be able to see the pins of the bulb.

Second, you unscrew the black plastic surround. It comes off in a counter clockwise direction, and there's an arrow moulded onto it to show you how to remove it.

Third, you should now be able to remove the rubber seal that surrounds the bulb. Mine had a little tab on one side to help you pull it out.

Finally, you should now be able to see the two springlike clips that hold the bulb in place. They clip behind the plastic housing about halfway along their length, and unclip by you pushing the end in and around the bulb.

And that's it! Out comes the bulb, and then you simply reverse the steps to put it back together.

Make sure you have the bulb the right way up, clip the clips back in, push the rubber seal back around the new bulb, screw on the plastic surround and plug the connector back in. Job done!

Working all this out: half an hour.

Replacing the bulb once I knew how it worked: less than a minute.

Good luck!

What could cause an 88 Caprice to lose all its power instantly while driving making you pull over then be unable to restart the car when no noises were heard in the engine and the car still turns over?

Quite possibly a failed fuel pump. What you would have noticed was the engine misfiring then stalling. It happens pretty quickly and you would not hear a thing. vbd that or running out of fuel. could also be that your throttle valve cable near the carb needs to be adjusted or replaced. this would cause your car to lose power and/or delayed shifting of the the transmission, usually accompanied with a loud noise when pressing the gas pedal

How do you take the manual shift knob off a 2001 Saturn SC2 to replace it because twisting is not working?

I asked the dealer this same question and the answer is, it doesn't come off. The only way to replace the knob is cutting it off. Actually, to remove the shifter knob on a 2001 Saturn SC2, all you have to do is pull it straight off the shaft. It does not twist or turn. Just pull it straight off. No need to cut it. You shouldn't even need any tools.

What type coolant do you use on a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder?

I'm about to change my 2000 coolant with Prestone. The prestone I bought is generic, and states that it can be used with any type coolant. The trick with aluminum (from my past experience) is to use denatured/deionized water as your mixing water. Denatured/deionized water costs about 1$ to 1.50 per galon. It won't leave salt deposits/chlorine deposits as normal tap water will. Don't flush with a hose unless you really have to. I plan on changing out, then changing out again after about a week or so. 1/22/2009 jfoneg "at thingy" yahoo decimal spot com

How do you replace the foglight on a 2004 Santa Fe?

You need to remove the headlight above it, which is about 3 or 4 screws, and the wires to the headlight.

Remove the headlight partially and let it hang,
OR totally disconnect it and GENTLY place it someplace it wont get bumped.

Then you have full access to reach down and work on the back of the fog lights. Its pretty straightforward from there.

OR, if youhave access to a lift and dont mind holding up your arms for 45 minutes, you can do it from underneath.

How do you change the number 6 plug on a 97 Nissan Pathfinder?

I just did this last weekend... it is not real easy but is NOT impossible.. You just have to get a medium sized extension and you need like a knuckle type reducer or attchment for your plug socket that has adjustable angles... i was initially worried i would not be able to get enough torque but had no problem. use the housing as a guide for the angle of your wrench and take note of the plug boot's angle when you remove the boot... after the boot is removed you can actually see the plug from the left side (passenger side) of the engine... hope it helps.. also be careful of your brake lines while changing this plug..

In addition to the previous answer - try to get the OEM spark plug removing tool. It's usually included with the truck in one set with a hydrolic jack lift. It looks like a tube. There are two of those one is shorter. Use it. Good luck.

The above is correct - the factory kit is Nissan's kindness to us DIY'ers. The short pipe is good for #6 and the angled rod with one end flattened is part of it - I unbolted the wire retainer so I could get 180 degrees per turn. So easy with the factory tools. The long pipe works well for the other cylinders. Once I realized I had the right tools, the job was relaxing and my new iridium plugs went in quickly.

A few things to add. I found it helpful to remove the hood first. That way you can just climb up onto the engine compartment to get a much better angle of attack. There are four bolts that hold the hood on. Don't forget to disconnect the windshield washer line before removing the hood. Also, there is a tab on the intake manifold that marks where the plug is. When trying to get the tool on the plug, angle the tool slightly toward the front of the vehicle.

Why would the horn honk whenever you stop and park on a Nissan Pathfiner?

Mine did this too, the alarm system would arm itself after a minute or so but not lock the doors, it was kind of frustrating at first especially if I was getting right back in and the alarm would go off, but then I kind of liked it because if I forgot to set the alarm it would still go off if someone opened the door.

Where is the coil on a 98 pathfinder?
