What are the signs that an oxygen sensor needs to be changed?
The check engine light will illuminate with a code(s) directing which O2 sensor is bad.
Where is the bank 1 sensor 1 heated oxygen sensor on a 1998 Toyota Avalon?
bank 1 is the one closest to the firewall. sensor 1 is the first one exhaust gasses will come in contact with after leaving the cylinder head.
Where is the transmission filter on 02 V6 Santa Fe?
Transmission filter is usually under the transmission oil pan. If the vehicle does not have a transmission pan then it is probably a "non-serviceable" transmission, and it probably doesn't have a servicable filter.
How do you fix O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 2 on a 96 Chevy corsica?
If you have an oxygen sensor problem then there should be a check engine light "on." Have a repair shop scan and diagnosis the problem. You may not truly have a problem with the oxygen sensor as it could be a vacuum leak that makes the o2 sensor set a code.
Where is the rear hatch sensor located on a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder?
Test the theory by applying pressure to the outside of the hatch back lock. If there's a short circuit, often the extra pressure will close the open circuit. Also try adjusting the hatch lock striker hook backward and forward to adjust closure tightness (12mm socket and three bolts to loosen/tighten).
To fix the problem permanently (without major hassles), try the following:
1. Remove rear hatch panel -- Two plastic screw fasteners, the rest are simple panel pop rivots. You may need to remove the two screws securing the window release lock plastic cover, too.
2. With the interior hatch panel removed, close the hatch.
3. Open the rear window.
4. Standing at the rear driver's side of the hatch, fish your left hand through to the back of the hatch lock mounting plate.
5. Locate the pigtail connection attached to the mounting plate: One ground (wire) connected to the mounting plate, the other (red w/stripe) connected to a wire connector just fore of the locking mechanism.
6. Disconnect the pigtail.
7. Tape off the open pigtail and secure to prevent rattling.
8. Reassemble hatch panel.
This should not affect the rear hatch power lock, rear window release, rear wiper, rear defogger or Tire Carrier Ajar sensor. It's simply a way to disable the 5th and only unseen "Door Ajar" sensor which could short and cause such a problem.
Food for thought.
Notes:
1. This was the solution for the floor lighting frequently staying illuminated when all doors were clearly closed on a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder.
2. The pigtail mentioned in the solution is about 6" to 8" from the latch mechanism. Mine was covered in gray foam to minimize rattle noise and was somewhat hard to see inside the dark rear hatch door area. It was also against the "inside" side of the sheet metal. I'm telling you this because I was about to Cut the Red/White wire and make a new ground by attaching it the metal on the door with a self tapping screw and new wire terminal end. I'm never in favor of cutting any factory wiring when you can disconnect a harness. There are lot of reasons why cutting is not the best option if you have another option to choose from.
3. The existence of this problem was discovered because the alarm system was going off during all hours of the day and night. It turns out that the alarm sounding problem happens to 1987 to 1995 Nissan Pathfinders when the battery is discharged
Where is the number one oxygen sensor located on a 1996 ford aerostar 4.0?
they are located either in the exhaust manifold, or in the exhaust manifold pipe usuall somewhere between the manifold and the back end of the catalytic converter will resemble a spark plug except with a smaller wire comming from the end!
How many oxygen sensors are on a 1993 Mercury Sable?
I know one of them is under the front of the car right in the center. Just go over to the front your car get on the ground and look up it is right there. I here there is another one hidden in back, but I haven't seen it yet. Hope I could help alittle.
Where is the passenger side oxygen sensor?
I have a 1997 mountaineer. There are 2 sensors on the passenger side and 2 more on the right. Crawl under your rig on the passenger side and you will see them mounted on the exhaust pipe near the catalytic converter. The exhaust on my truck has two exhaust pipes leading from the engine and they are both set up pretty much the same. locate both sensors (they are mounted on the top of the pipe) and change the one that is indicated as failing on the OBD II read. Bank one is the one closest to the engine and bank 2 is the one farther from the engine. Remember to disconnect the wire first when disconnecting and when you install, put the sensor into the pipe and then connect the wire to the harness as the final step. There is a special socket available to help with this job but I used a box wrench and it went pretty well. Hope this helps. Its the ONLY thing that comes off of the exhaust pipes with electrical wires attached. (EX. Bank 1 sensor 1 default would be the drivers side BEFORE the catalytic conv. Sensor 2 is after catalytic con. Bank 2 is passenger side -- just in case you need that info) Good luck and use lots of PB blaster
Where is the oxygen sensor located on a 2001 Ford F-150 V6?
on the exhaust pipe after the manifolds/you have a wire going to it and you unscrew it after you unplug wires going to it the oxygen sensor i belive is located either on left or right exuast manifold.

This should help out. At the bottom of the PDF is a wiring guide for bosch sensors, Competitors, and OE harnesses. The guide is from bosch, it should work well.
You will notice the GEO has a different stock harness than is typical.
Where is the oxygen sensor on a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.9L V6?

on my lancer there are 2 fitted, i found them both at the parts bin online, but i am not sure how you tell which one is no good
How many oxygen sensors are in a 2006 Kia Spectra?
There are 2 o2 sensors. One directly in front of the engine on the exhaust manifold (upstream), and another underneath the car, after the catalytic converter (downstream).
Where is the bank 1 o2 sensor on a 2000 i30?
when you open the hood it is the 02 sensor located on the top of the exhaust manifold between the radiator and the manifold. if you are facing the front of the car look down on the left side bottom of the manifold you will see a brass looking stem sticking out of the exhaust manifold with three wires attached to it you will need a special socket to chang it auto zone has the socket they will loan it to you to change the sensor.
How do you replace oxygen sensor in 1993 Mazda protege lx?
If you buy a o2 sensor socket at a parts store, and you have a propane hand torch, and wd40,your halfway done. Stubborn rusted may need heat to remove. disconnect harness on 02 sensor, slide on your socket and break it loose
What should it cost to replace the oxygen sensor in a 03 Chevrolet Impala?
The sensor is about $75.00 to $100.00 and the labor is 1/2 hour with 1 hour diagnostics.
Is the oxygen sensor on a 1996 Chevrolet caprice 4.3 liter down stream from the catalytic convert?
There is one upstream and one downstream.
How do you replace the oxygen sensor in a Chevy Suburban?
The good news is that changing sensors isn't too hard. The bad news is that there are four sensors on the exhaust (two pre-cat and two post-cat-- cat being catylitic converter). The rear ones run about $60 each and the front ones, according to my parts man, are about $120 each.
No special tool is needed, but try to get as much room under the truck as you can. All four sensors are visible and accessible. They are variously screwed into each of the exhaust pipes. To remove, I used a crescent wrench, but I think the nuts (part of the sensor) are 7/8. Find and disconnect the wire connector before unscrewing the sensor. (Note: there is a small clip that must be removed from the connector before you can lift the locking flange.) The new wire connector comes as a part of the new sensor.
From there, simply unscrew the old sensor, treat the threads on the new sensor (with the goop that's included in the box), screw it in, then reattach the wire connector.
This is probably not one of the most professional answers, but I hope it helps.
Where is the ho2s sensor on a 2002 escort?
It has 2 ho2s sensors. One is upstream from the catylitic converter between the exhaust manifold and the cat. The other is downstream from the converter between in and the exhaust pipe going to the muffler.
What size oxygen sensor socket wrench for 1997 ford expedition?
If you are replacing the old sensors, you can cut off the wires at the sensor and slip a 7/8" box wrench over the sensor for removal. Use the open end 7/8" wrench to install the new one. Tighten the new sensor as you would a spark plug.
Why would a catalytic converter on a Lincoln Mark 8 go out after twelve years and 65000 miles?
catalytic converters can go out within that time for more than one main reason most likely your car has either hit alot of bumps in 12 years or u hit a speed bump on the way down too hard and knocked the inside of it loose.
Where are the 4 oxygen sensors located on a 1994 grand marquis mercury?
The four oxygen sensors are located two in the right exhaust and two in the left exhaust. One is on each side in the exhaust manifold forward of the catalytic converter and one is on each side behind the converter. They can be found easily from under the car. Pass your hand (when the car is cool) along the top of the exhaust if you can't see them. Trace the connecting wires to the wiring harness. Remove the wires from the harness before unscrewing the sensors. The front and rear sensors are not interchangeable as the wiring connectors are different and they work at different temperartures. The removal and installation took me twenty minutes. Don't get the sensor elements dirty.
Where is the downstream oxygen sensor on a 1998 Escort LX?
On most ford escorts, the oxygen sensor is located under the hood, on the exhaust manifold or the exhaust pipe. You'll have to look down between the engine and radiator.
Why would a 1997 Hyundai Elantra's check engine light stay on?
Check your gas cap. Lots of times its not on tight and causes your light to come on. After you check your cap remove your negative battery cable for a minute to clear the computer and then see what happens
