try checking EGR valve
Will the check engine light ALWAYS come on if the oxygen sensor is bad?
No not always,But it will correct problem 99% of the time. Brett
Where is the actual connection for an O2 sensor plug?
Follow the wir from the sensor to the connector
Where is the o2 sensor in a 94 ford ranger?
O2 sensors are always threaded right into the exhaust pipe. Follow the pipe until you see the sensor. If this model has more than one, you may need to know which bank your looking for (V6 only) and whether its the upstream or downstream sensor. Bank 1 is whichever side of the engine cylinder 1 is on. Upstream is before the catylitic converter and downstream is after it.
Where are the O2 sensor located on 98 Saturn SL?
Oxygen Sensor Some vehicles have (2) and some have (4) O2 sensors.
When you start looking at the O2 sensors, they are normally numbered something like "Bank 1 Sensor 1" Bank 1 is on the passenger side; Bank 2 is on the driver's side. Sensor 1 is the upstream sensor (near the frame, between the block and the cat) and Sensor 2 is near the Y-pipe (downstream of the cat).
Normally it is the upstream sensors (sensor 1) that go first. They see the harshest conditions. You will need; Oxygen Sensor Socket Anti-Seized Penetrating Oil I have even used a small plumbers propane tank and heat it up and it help get them free. Sometimes it will take 15 minutes or take a few hours it depends on your luck...

There are actually (4) O2 sensors on your truck. If you look inside the wheel wells behind the fender liner, right about where the frame is one O2 sensor, the other is underneath the truck about half way back in relation to the transmission. If you see where the exhaust joints together, you went about 6" too far.

It resides just past the catalytic converter. Underneath the truck about where the passenger would sit.
How do you replace oxygen sensor on a Mazda 6?
I have a 2005 Mazda 6s (V6 engine). There are 4 Oxygen sensors on my engine. You will need a special slotted socket wrench. It cost about ten dollars at your local auto parts store. It's designed with a slot in the side wall to fit over the wires coming out of the top of the sensor. On each side of the engine there are two sensors. One at the top of the catalytic converter and one in the pipe just below the converter. You go at the ones in the bottom of the converter from under the car and the ones in the top of the catalytic converter can be removed from inside of the engine compartment. You will have to remove the engine cover and the intake manifold to get at the sensor on the back side of the engine near the fire wall. Be sure and disconnect the connector of the oxygen sensor so the wires will not be damaged while you remove or replace the sensor. I'm sure if your car has a 4 cylinder engine you will have just two on the front side of the engine. One just below the exhaust manifold and just below the catalytic converter. Same procedures less work.

Where is the oxygen sensor on a 2003 Mazda Protege?
There is two oxygen sensors. One is located before the catalytic converter is located under the heat sheld. The oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter is found under the catalytic converter (under the car) before the catalytic transfer pipe.
Where are oxygen sensors located on a Ford Windstar LX?
There are 2 oxygen sensors one upstream and one down stream. Both oxygen sensors are located underneath the van. The down stream oxygen sensor is located behind the cataylic converter near the cross pipe and the upstream oxygen sensor is located in front of the cataylic converter in plain sight. They look like spark plugs with either 8", 12", or 14" wires attached to them. The upstream oxygen sensors is easily located underneath the vechicle to the front. The downstream oxygen sensor is not the one lcoated on or close to the cataylic converter.
Where is the oxygen sensor located on a 2001 Chev Suburban?
UNDER VEHICLE, DRIVER SIDE, BELOW SEATING AREA, MOUNTED IN EXHAUST PIPE IN REAR OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER.
I have a 2001 Suburban 2500 with 8.1 engine, with four original oxygen sensors. Two are located ahead of the catalytic converters in the exhaust headers and two in the tail pipes after the catalytic converters. One went bad (got several check engine - heater error codes), so I replaced all four, because the GM manual and Bosch say the oxygen sensors are good for 100,000 miles (I have 108,000). Decided to go with NTK brand (owned by NGK spark plug company), because some people claim they are more durable than Bosch. Bosch invented oxygen sensors and has made more than any other company. NTK now produces more per year than Bosch (or any other company). Used three NTK P/N 21313 ($59.89 each) and one NTK P/N 21518 (left rear @ $82.89). You will need a 22 mm open end wrench to remove & install. Old sensors were hard to break loose (used hammer and a big box-end wrench as "cheaters"). New sensors went in and fit great to OEM electrical plugs - followed good NTK instructions. Plugs have a funky blue plastic lock pin - pull that first, then lift clip and pull plug apart. Used two zip-ties per sensor to keep wires away from hot / moving parts. Should get better gas mileage now - haven't yet checked. One word of advice - avoid cheaper "universal" oxygen sensors because you have to use the old electrical plugs and splice 4 wires per sensor - all in bad locations.

How many oxygen sensors on ford E-150 1998?
Two on each exhaust manifold. Remove the engine shroud from the cab area
and you should be able to get a both very easily.

How do you test o2 sensor Toyota Echo 2000?
See related link which includes instructions for testing any O2 sensor.
Do you have a picture of the location of the o2 sensor for a 2003 ford expedition?
I don't have any pictures. But I can tell you where they are located. The Ford Expeditions have (4) O2 sensors. They are 2 in front of the CATs. and 2 behind the CATs. They cost around $50.00 each at Auto Zone. You will need a special socket and some PB blaster to take them off... I had the same problem on my 1998 Ford Expediton XLT 4.6L and what I did was bought 2 of the biggest bottles of Fuel injector cleaners, also fill up the tank with gas and after a week of so it clear the O2 sensor codes and it also clean them. So I save my seft lots of money and labor.

What is the O2 sensor on a 2003 Ford Expedition?
Here is the oxygen sensor, and their location designations explained: They are screwed into the exaust system at various points. Some people say that there are 4 oxygen sensors, but technically, that is not correct. Only the front 2 are considered oxygen sensors. They are screwed into the exaust pipe, one on each bank, after the exaust manifold, but before the catalytic converter. Sometimes they are screwed directly into the exaust manfold itself. The other 2 are actually called catalyst moniters. They are oxygen sensors, but they serve a different purpose. They moniter the activities of the catalytic converters, thus the name, catalyst moniters. They are screwed into the exaust one on each bank, after, or downstream, of the catalytic converters. On a 4 cyl engine, there are only a total of two such sensors, the one in front of the catalytic convertor is the O2 sensor, the one behind the cat is the catalyst moniter. The location names for them are as follows: On a 4 cyl, the front is called "bank 1 sensor 1" and the rear sensor is called "bank 1, sensor 2." On a V6 or V8 engine, the passenger's side bank on a forward facing engine, or the bank closest to the firewall on a transverse mounted engine, is bank number 1, so the forward sensor on that bank would be "bank 1, sensor 1." The driver's side bank(forward mount engine), or front bank(transverse engine) would be bank number 2, thus the forward sensor on that bank would be "bank 2, sensor 1," and the rearmost sensor on that bank would be "bank 2, sensor 2."
