Trouble shooting teledyne laars heater reads hl1 service?
Your incoming hi limit is tripped or bad. Do an ohms test or you can bypass it just to see if the heater fires.
Does the surface color of a pool affect the heat?
Yes, the surface color of a pool will affect the water temperature to a small degree. More important to water temperature is your geographic location, the season, existing water temperature, minimum and maximum daily air temperature, number of hours of sun the pool gets each day, cloud cover, wind speed, and the number of hours and times of day that you use a pool cover. Hope this helps ...
Will a 125 btu heat pump heat a 16x32 pool in central New Jersey from mid-May through mid-September?
I doubt that that small of a heater would be adequate for a tiny pool in California. Does it have a spa attached? I would not use anything smaller than 400,000 BTU gas heater. I have little knowledge of heat pumps per say but I would think the same. Larger is better. Your pump would have to literally run continuously. Consult with a local pool builder or a trusted pool store. Information like this would, I think, be free.

How do you light the pilot on a 10 year old Teledyne Lars LLG pool heater with an electronic spark?
You don't. If the heater has an electronic spark, then it doesn't have a standing pilot to light. The spark lights the pilot when there is a call for heat, which in turn lights the burners. If the heater is on and the pump is RUNNING, the heater should light automatically when the water temperature is lower than the heat setting.
What is differences between heat and temperature?
Heat is thermal energy.
Temperature is the measurement of average kinetic energy of the particles which compose the matter being tested.
Temperature is a relative measure of how hot or cold something is measured on a scale.
Temperature is a measure of how much heat energy an object has.
What size heater do you need to heat a 3500 gallon jacuzzi spa?
Click on the "How To Calculate Heater Size" link on Pool Gear Plus's Pool Heaters page for a chart.
Hum, don't you mean 350 gal spa? Most appropriate heater size would be 400,000 in your choice of brands (Raypak). Wow, 3500 gal. it must be at least 10' x 16' x 3' quite impressive but impractical.

If you run out of oil do you need to bleed air out of the fuel line before restarting the heater?
I am a GC in the Seattle, WA area. I came across your question when I myself was looking for the same answer lastnight on the internet.
I had a job today which was to only get the heater to stay on. My customer had some oil put in her above ground tank, only to have the oil level get lower than the exit line from the tank itself.
The answer is yes. You will have to get the air out of the line in order to keep the furnace from coming on only to shut back off. On this particular job, I found an in-line shut off valve that was located just before the oil filter. This is where the incoming line meets the oil filter then to the rest of the unit. Well, this valve wasn't on all the way. That was one problem. There is a "bleeder" screw located on what looks like a black square box mounting on the motor. You will notice this screw because it has a "nipple" on the end for a 1/4 poly tube to slide onto to "bleed" the air out.
Once you have your 1/4 tube, or other container to catch the oil, you loosen the screw counterclockwise. Just remember, righty tighty..lefty loosy! Right to tighten the screw, left to loosen the screw..or bolt, etc.
With this screw loose, push the reset button in on the furnace itself. The thermostat in the house has to be on also before you reset the furnace. The furnace will kick on and you will eventually have the air/oil start to purge out. This step will have to be done a numerous amount of times. Once the oil comes out in a steady stream, you are done. The furnace should stay and you will hear the burner kick on and you should soon feel air coming through you registers.
If you are in doubt, call your local oil service provider for assistance. My customer was going to have her "oil guys" back out to bleed the line and they were going to charge her $80.00.
I assume you have already had this repair done and you don't need this tip but now it is on the net.
THIS WORKED WONDERFULLY for my oil furnace--Thank you to the GC in Seatle and wki for saving me at least $80 :-)
What is wrong if your pilot light will not stay lite?
High winds, pilot generator. Is the heater located next to a wall? Is the heater door closed? Does the heater have a draft hood or what they call a stackless heater?

Why all pears fell off tree early?
Pears may fall off a tree early due to several factors, including environmental stresses such as drought, excessive rain, or strong winds. Additionally, poor pollination, pest infestations, or diseases can weaken the fruit's attachment to the tree. Nutrient deficiencies and imbalanced fertilization can also contribute to premature fruit drop. Lastly, some pear varieties naturally drop their fruit early as part of their growth cycle.
What is a safe temperature for a whirlpool if a child is going to be in it?
Children under a certain age should not use or be in a spa, hot tub, whirlpool or Jacuzzi. Your state laws mandate the age requirement. Same for pregnant women.

Possibly not enough gas flow. Have a monometer test done along with a complete check up of the heater. Has this been a problem from the time the heater was installed? Could also be a gas line that is not large enough for the length of the run. Also, do you have flexible tubing connected between the heater and the incoming gas line? This may be your problem too. Remove the flex and connect with galv or regular gas pipe as per code in your area. In some states the flex line of any length is illegal.

What is the best type of solar pool cover blue bubble or clear diamond or other?
blue bubble, dark asorbs heat white or clear reflects it, 2nd Opinion Answer: I do not agree with blue bubble. I have used both and the clear diamond solar cover heats my pool beyond anything a blue cover could do. Clear does not reflect it magnifies. Think of you car on hot summer day. When you get in your car it is like an oven from the sun going through the windows. My pool gets so warm with the clear cover I have to add water to cool it down. Pool reaches 90 with ease. Once I had an extra 2 foot by 30 foot strip and I layed it on grass to use as a slip and slide. Big mistake! It burn my grass in minutes like a giant magnifying glass. I am still debating if the clear diamond is better than the clear bubble because the diamond only lasts a couple years then it falls apart. You have to cover it when you have it rolled up or the sun will kill it. FAZD...
Is the best color of solar cover black blue silver or clear?
I was told by a pool supply store in Cleveland, Ohio, that they have heard of more instances of the black covers falling apart than the others. The guy in the store suggested it is because the black absorbs more of the sun's heat, causing the more rapid breakdown in the material. He had heard nothing about the clear covers, but speculated that it would hold up better than the black. Swimming pool covers help retain pool heat by reducing evaporation. For this purpose, color does not matter. At night any cover will have about the same effect. During the day though, solar energy from the sun heats the pool. You see all sorts of claims from cover manufacturers that their blanket "heats" the pool. This is false. All blankets block some of the solar energy coming from the sun. So which one blocks it the least? According to a government report I read, clear covers block 5-15% of the sun while colored ones block 20-40%. It's clear that clear is the way to go (sorry about the pun). The question then becomes, should I uncover my pool during the day when it is not in use? It depends. On calm, humid days, take it off for maximum heating. On dry, windy days, the evaporation loss outweighs the cover loss, so leave it on. Always leave it on on cloudy days and at night. Dave O
What size gas line will work with a 199900 BTU hot water heater?
depends on the delivery pressure of the gas....
How many tampons does it take to drain a pool?
Tampons aren't going to be used to drain a pool, obviously. Tampons are for managing menstrual flow, not for draining a swimming pool. If you were wanting to guess how many tampons would be needed, well that would depend on the pool size and the tampon absorbency!
What is the best way to repair rips in a solar blanket?
I used a hot glue gun with acceptable results. Made it through the summer.
ANSW:: there are not many products on the current market to do adequate repairs to solar covers. The big problem as with most remodeling, refurbishing or repairs is the prep. You need to clean and dry the cover completely before a product will work. All solar blankets are heat welded at the factory and even a portion of those welds fail. If the cover has deteriorated to the point of disintegration then nothing is going to work even temporarily. There are some products that will get you thru the season or will only last a month or 2 and fail. Best to bite the bullet and consider a new cover for next season. You can get possibly 4 to 6 month more out of a cover if you are a fanatic about cleaning it, protecting it from the sun when not in use, storing it in absolutely clean, protected and dry conditions. Covering the cover when not in use during use of the pool daily will help but measured in time of life for the product it is minute. k
Should you shut off the pool heater on cool rainy days or leave it on?
Maintain the heater settings. Shutting the heater down will result in colder water temps that the heater has to overcome when it is turned on again and will cost you in the amount of BTU Therms you use. -- more expensive. I believe that it takes approx. one hr. to bring the temp up one degree.

Will a darker pool liner cause more water evaporation?
A dark pool liner might cause a very small increase in water evaporation, but nothing significant. The dark pool liner will raise the water temp a bit which, in turn, may increase the evaporation rate. But, the evaporation rate is much more dependent upon the air temperature and humidity than on the water temp, so the increase in water temp would only have a very small effect on the overall or net water evaporation rate. Hope this helps ... yes, it will, and it could be a significant increase.
It could be high water pressure. Try to borrow or rent a water pressure gauge from a home center in your area. If it's high water pressure you can get a pressure regulator. If it's not high pressure (150# constant or surge) than maybe it is high temperature (210degrees). After that comes bad luck.
