How do different obstacles affect radio waves?
Radio waves hit all obstacles the same, but the waves will differ in the distance of the wave and/or the object from the transmitter.
Any but you will need an "auto leads" converter lead.
This definitely sounds like a short, and a good place to start looking for it would be in the under the hood circuit breakers because they usually, (almost always control more than one accesory or control more than one electric function, i.e, the fan, the controls for the dash lights, etc. Assuming that you have already checked your interior fuse box, a good way to start is by opening the hood and locating the breakers (black or gray boxes, small with wires attached) and have someone turn the key while you listen for a clicking noise coming from one of the breakers, if you can't tell which one it is coming from, (if any), then try cupping your hand over each one, one at a time, to "feel" the "click", which would indicate a short. You can purchase breakers from about 3-25 dollars at a discout auto parts store, but take the old one with you as they have different variations they look the same, but they are not the same. If this doesn't work, (if no breaker is bad), check your wires going between the starter and the battery, make sure none are hot, which could indicate trouble with a fusible link (simple to repair)or a faulty wire altogether, check battery terminals for corrosion, if none of these help, you may have a circuit breaker located behind the dash, which you may have to remove parts of the dash from under the steering column to reach. this is not fun. If it comes to this point a good investment would be the repair manual for your explorer, where you will find wiring diagrams, otherwise, I would suggest calling a mechanic who specializes in auto wiring, etc. Good luck.
I bought mine at one of the local large retailers. They run about $10-$20. The radio in the vehicle needs to be designed for it with an 'auxilary' jack in it.
The other option is a device that looks like a cassette tape that plugs into the ipod and slides into the tape player.
Two things to check. Did it lose the ground and is the antenna disconnected?

How do I know if my car radio speakers are blown?
Chevy used weak glue to attach the surround to the frame. When you look at a speaker, you see a "bubble" in the middle, that is called the dust cap. From the dust cap the speaker forms a cone to the outside edge of the speaker, this is called the "cone". Surrounding the cone is the "surround". The surround is a convex piece of flexible material that allows the cone to move up and down. If your speaker makes a buzzing noise, it is probably due to the surround breaking away from the frame. If you hear a crackling sound, the speaker is probably blown. The easiest fix is to replace said speaker and its sister.
you'll hear a crackling sound in the speakers turn the fade onto the speakers u think r blown and test em individually

How do you remove the radio from a 1991 Subaru Legacy?
My 91 wagon is an "L" model, but I'm guessing they're all pretty similar. There are two screws (phillip head) you'll be able to see once you pull out your ashtray. They should be located right above the little storage area in front of your shifter on either side. Once those have been removed, the entire plastic face around the radio, cupholders, ashtray, and storage area will pull out. (I usually extend the cupholders out as far as they can go so the plastic face comes in and out easier). From there, it's just a matter of unscrewing about 4 to 6 screws (phillip head) around the radio itself. The radio and wire bracket will pull out, and from there you'll be able to disconnect the harness from the back. There are four more SMALL screws (don't lose these, they're a pain in the butt to find) that keep the radio connected to the metal harness. Voila, your radio should be free. If you're putting in a standard size (single din) CD player replacement, you DON'T EVEN NEED A FACEPLATE KIT! Don't let those people at best buy try to sell you one. Simply line up those small screws on the radio and your set. The only thing you should really buy is a wiring kit. Good luck

How do you check and change fuses on a 1995 Toyota tercel?
Fuse boxes are generally located in the driver's side foot well (near the pedals) but could be in the engine compartment as well. Most fuses can be checked visually. If the wire in the middle of the fuse is blown (melted in half), it's no good. Some fuses can be checked with a multimeter or similar device without having to remove them. If a fuse is blown, there should be infinite resistance across it. If you find the bad fuse, replace it, and it blows again, the real question is "What is drawing so much current?". There may be a short circuit somewhere.
The radio dont work but the clock does?
Then you can see (on the clock) it's time to buy a new radio!
The 'off' control is very sensitive. If you are brave enough to tackle the problem, I would suggest you remove the radio and clean the contact for the 'on-off' switch. Most electrical contacts are copper based and therefore subject to forming a 'patina' (an oxide or carbonate 'film') when exposed to air (an oxygen atmosphere).
If you do not have the mechanical ability to perform this task, I highly recommend you let someone of whom is profient in mechanical aptitude to do the work. It's not brain surgery, but it does require a certain degree of mechanical aptitude.
