There should be a routing diagram under your hood. be careful, not all accessories turn the same way. you will need a helper. On grooved pulleys, ribs go down, on smooth, they run on the backside. Slip belt on bottom to top following diagram as far as it will go. Use the center bolt on idler pulley to move it. Just find a socket that fits that bolthead and a wrench with a nice long handle, if it moves to the right act like you are tightening bolt and pulley will move since bolt can only go so tight, at the same time your helper can guide belt over the last accessory at the top of engine-probably alternator. If idler moves the other way against spring, same thing- just use a pry bar instead.

The formula that works best only applies to the small newer normally aspirated (carbureted) 4 cycle engines. The ratios change slightly worse with altitude and slightly better with fuel injection and tuning. Most American mowers and the newer 4 cycle outboard motors fit into one of these two formulas: Typical new carbureted engine well tuned: 1 x HP per each 25 cc Fuel injected: 1 x HP per each 22 cc Notes:-Most engines are tuned down to a lower HP for better engine life. -It is common for the same cc engine to be built in 3 different HP versions with the highest rated being the maximized HP per cc version. That is how you see price and HP changes on the same cc engine made by the same company. -Some of the newest (2008 and newer) engines from Japan perform slightly better. A typical 150cc motor should equate to between 3.5 - 6 HP+ depending on tuning with 5 HP being the adv.
The actual formula plots as a curve and is not linear and also does not apply to Max/High Performance engines like motorcycles.

Ask your dealership for a 2006 diagram for the same vehicle.

You have to remove the balancer from the crank pulley. There are 4 13mm bolts holding it on. The easiest way is to remove the tire and inner fender tub.

Remove the lower bolt on the engine mount housing, then remove the spacer. The belt will slip right through.

The engine in a vehicle is mounted on rubber motor mounts, the centrifugal force of the internal workings of the engine cause it to lean to one side, it is thus shifted from its originall position, so the belt will have to compensate for the movement, that is why the belt is always a little big for the run it has to do, and is tighteded up with a tensioner.

Take a breaker bar/ ratchet and put pressure against the belt tensioner which is spring loaded( located near the top of the belt path ; has a pulley attached to it). Once the tensioner has been relaxed the belt just slips off. Pay attention to the belt routing before you remove the old belt.

you need a serpentine belt remover. Its $20 at autozone...The pulley on the bottom left will pull up if you use the tool..its the small pulley on the bottom left...very easy with the right tool....takes three hours without it:] and a lot of cussing...

By drive belt; I assume you mean a timing belt. On a 3.0 H-6, there is a timing chain in place of the belt (Very durable). It is housed behind cast aluminum timing chain covers on the front of the engine. On an engine with a timing belt, I would do the change myself; but I recommend that a timing chain be replaced by a Subaru dealer simply for the fact that the tension, alignment, and timing can be hard to set yourself with a chain.

Usually there is a diagram under the hood either by the radiator or the hood itself.

Assuming the belt and pulleys are in good shape, put a dab of clear silicone grease on both sides of the belt. Do this with the engine off. Squeak is gone.

I had the same problem with my 2000 Silverado. After spraying, it made the squeaks worse. The problem is that belt dressing works only for loose v belts. Not serpentine belts. The reason is the spray has a sticky adhesive that sets up causing the belt to drag on the pullies, compounding the problem. I had to have my belt replaced and the pullies cleaned by a shop.

That's very simple. there two possible conditions, first and foremost, the belt is possibly old and strechted. secondly the tensioner might need to be replaced. starting with the belt try replacing it first, this should solve the problem (as it did with mine) if not, then there's not enough tension on the belt..cbs or your ac compressor is locking up, either short belt the system or replace the compressor

To adjust the auger blts on a spirit snowthrower: The adjustment is on the cable to the handle, remove the cable by lifting the belt idler to relax it enough for removal. Turn the adjustment screw going into the spring and re-attach. This will increase the tension on the belt and you should get performance you are seeking. It might take a couple of tries to get the tension you want, but it's an easy fix.

Several things could cause this such as belt not being tight enough in the first place, or the belt isn't aligned properly, making the water act as lubrication slipping the belt off.

you have a belt tensioner you need to put a big socket wrench on it and push down on it and it will lift it up to release the tension on the belt. do the same thing to put it back on

I assume you mean the idler pulley on the A/C belt. I have not replaced this particular item but it should be simple.

Looking from the top of the engine compartment on the passenger side you will see the idler pulley with a mounting/locking bolt which attaches the pulley and the tension adjusting point immediately above it. Loosen the pulley locking bolt by turning counter clockwise. Relieve belt tension by turning the adjuster bolt counter clockwise. Remove the belt and pulley. Replace in the reverse order.

What exactly do you want to know about it??

I need diagram serpentine belt for 1984 Nissan 4,2 L Nissan pick up

I would suspect the belt is getting worn, becoming hard and starting to slip going around the pulleys. Especially if it has some age on it. Also look for cracks in the ribs on the belt.This happens every few years in my 95 S-10. If it is a new belt possibly a wrong size not fitting well on the pulleys?
