Your new pump should come with gaskets. just use blue silicone both sides & reattach with bolts. A little on the bolts threads might be a good call just in case. Some cars have 1 or more that go into the water jacket. Hand tight is fine. For the belt, just slip over all the pulleys you can & to get over the last one's pry on the idler(s) against the spring tension to move. A helper here comes in handy. Just ensure ribs on bottom of belt in proper grooves on pulleys. Routing diagram is usually on core support so all accessories turning right direction.

It would be best the remove the intake elbow at the throttle body to make it easier. Then put the front end of the car up on jack stands, and change it from underneath. There is an automatic tensioner on the rightside of the vehicle next to the crankshaft pulley. You need to use a 15mm socket to overcome the spring tension and you can remove the belt. Installation is the reverse.

Sometimes it has to be removed, sometimes you can loosen it on one side to be able to slip the belt past to remove and replace it.

A ratchet isÊneeded to loosen the serpentine belt tension pulley on a 2002 Jeep Wrangler V6. It will require a 1/2 inch ratchet.

I have a similar problem. My air condition compressor was whinning, maybe a bad bearing. I don't even use the air anyway, and do not want to pay to fix it or remove it and put in these brackets that they sell. So I thought why not just buy a belt for this engine with out air and just by pass the air compressor. It just makes sense. The air compressor is just an add on bracket anyway. So buy a belt for your 1999 2.4 liter with out air and install the new belt. Bart

According to the online manual (www.kiatechinfo.com) it routes over the drive pulley, water pump pulley, and the alternator generator.

To put on the alternator belt, you'll have to take off the power steering belt as well, which routes from the drive pulley to the a/c pulley, and then up to the power steering.

You'll likely have a hard time getting the power steering belt off and back on. Check the online manual for locations of pivot bolts, adjusting bolts, and locknuts for both the power steering belt and the alternator, as well as a routing diagram for each.

I don't have a durango, so I'm not an expert, but it probably has a sticker somewhere under the hood that shows you the correct routing of the belt. Other places to check is the cardboard thing the belt came in, and your owner's manual. If by some act of God, you still haven't found it, just buy a Haynes Repair Manual at your local auto parts store. They're relatively cheap, and full of usefull info, diagrams, and procedures reguarding just about everything on your vehicle.

Look under the hood in the area around the radiator support and there should be a diagram for you. Or you may want to invest in a manual from the part store.

In my 95 I took of the air cleaner box. It is only held down by a couple of latches. You will see an adjust bolt facing toward the drivers side wheel well. You will need to first loosen the three (I think) bolts that hold the power steering pump on. Just loosen dont take them off. Then just turn the adjust bolt until the belt is tight. Retighten the bolts on the pump. Your done.

Buy the repair manual (Haynes, Chilton, Ford Factory). Loosen the idler. Slip off the old one. Slip on a new one. Tighten the idler.

The Idler Pulley is the one on top, closest to you (#1). It's about the size of a Big Doorknob. The tensioner pulley is directly below that one, on a short arm (#4).

If you remove the air intake tube (loosen 2ea 8mm clamps) you can

get a clear view of them.

The diagram should be located on the beam just above the radiator, close

to the hood latch.

Take a 15mm box wrench (and here is a trick) and pick up your handy 13mm box wrench. This trick requires your 15mm to be open ended on the other end.

Take the 13mm box end and hook it onto the prongs of the open end of the 15mm. This makes an extension arm for your 15mm.

Place the 15mm box on the bolt in the center of the Tensioner pulley, with the wrenches protruding towards the drivers side (below the power steering pump).

Push down (clockwise, facing the front of the truck) so that the tensioner

pivots on it's arm. This this is STIFF! You'll have to put some weight into it.

Take care that your wrenches are not hitting the frame or something else as you pivot the tensioner.

While holding the wrenches down with your right hand, remove the belt

from the alternator with your left.

SLOWLY release the wrenches (these guys could fly up and hurt you or your truck!!!)

Reverse is the installation of removal.

Follow the diagram in the link for the new belt.

I found the new belt was somewhat shorter than the old one, I suspect

they stretch.

Hello. There are actually three possible sources for the serpentine belt routing. First of all there is usually a diagram under the hood. Second, there is usually a diagram in the owner manual. And finally, go to a NAPA store and ask as they have all of these diagrams. Regards, JustAskJoe1234@aol.com

If you look under the hood you should see a diagram of the belt and order it goes in, if not get out a peice of paper and start drawing. There will be a tensioner with a square slot, it's for a 1/2 inch drive. Once you insert the 1/2 inch see what direction it goes to loosen the belt, be careful not to place your fingers between the pulleys and the belt, it hurts trust me! Good luck with your project.

You can remove the old serpentine belt on your 2004 Dodge Ram by loosening the tensioner pulley. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten it with the tensioner pulley.

The alternator bolts need to be loosened so that the alternator can slide and take pressure off of the belt. Remove the old belt (any belts blocking passage may have to be removed as well.) Remove then replace the belt, and move the alternator to the side to tension the belt while tightening the bolt. Reconnect the battery.

Disconnect the battery. Loosen the alternator bolts and slide the alternator to loosen the belt. Remove any other belts in front of the bad belt if necessary to get to it. Remove the alternator belt, and install the new one. Pull the alternator to the side to tighten the new belt snug and hold while tightening the bolts. Reconnect the battery

There is no diagram under the hood

Open hood, look on the frame in front of the radiator or on the hood itself. Should be a diagram w/ air conditioning and w/out.

i cant seem to get my tension idle aligned properly.. i think it's the washer alignment is wrong. 2000 qx4 top idle pulley

theres gonna either be a tensioner bolt or tensioner pulley... u should beable to locate waterpump, crank, a/c, alternator, powersteering,idle pulley. knowing the car woulda been easier

check to be sure the routing of belt is correct
