It is on the the fuse panel located behind the dash to the left of the steering column. It is Fuse # 63 and it is on the BACK of the fuse panel. You have to unfasten the fuse panel from its mounting to get to it. A BAD design flaw. There are two hex-head screws that I can see. Behind all that good stuff?

Not very many if at all. Almost all of the newer models are self contained pre-greased units. All the places to look for fittings (if they are there) are: upper and lower ball joints, center of all four u-joints, and where tie rods meet each other. There are four fittings in my 95. That's about it.

Why won't the brake light in my Toyota 4runner won't work?
Most likely bad bulb. 3 times it should come on. Turn the key to the on position, car running with brake set, and when fluid is low. The last can be simulated by removing the brake fluid cap from the reservoir and let it hang loose, just use a rag so it wont drip on the paint and peel it.
If these 3 fail to get a light you have to remove the console and replace the lamp.
Check my other responses for how to accomplish this.

Why wont your 1988 Toyota 4runners battery charge?
Could be that the alternator isn't putting out the required or rated voltages. Could also be the voltage regulator.
If trying to just charge it without running, check for proper fluid levels inside the battery. If just one cell has gone dry, the battery is going to need to be replaced ... once the metal pieces are exposed to the atmosphere, they start to degrade quickly and no amount of distilled water will ever return them to their original state.

Passenger side frame rail, basically right under the cross member. The shops recommend dropping the cross member for this reason, but I have changed many without having to go to that much trouble.
I do recommend that you loosen the fuel cap though. This may save you a face full of gas:)
