It sounds to me like your ignition timing may be off. Is it also hard to start? Possibly a manifold vacuum leak. Check out your engines tune up.

right by the oil filter you should see a gold color one wire sensor.

Your gage may be the problem, if the vehicle is using a speed sensor then the input will go through the computer before it gets to the speedo. to answer the question directly, you need to get a manual on the vehicle and reference the wiring schematics in the back.

Whatever takes to fill up the system and the resivoir. 1 quart should be enough.

try using a puller.(3arm puller or a bolt puller) its almost the same tool used to remove steering wheels.

If the engine is running good except for low power, low cylinder compression could be the problem. A computer test may show and possible engine codes as well, giving a starting point for troubleshooting.

If it requires a timing belt it probably is but not all engines have belts.

The Expedition uses a timing chain. It doesn't have to be changed as part of a schedule like a timing belt.

They are right along the top of the engine going in behind the valve cover. They are deep down inside under the wire w/boot 2 of them have ignition coils on top of them (they are bolted down with 2 small bolts each) and have plugs plugged into them (1 each on outside edge) the other two are just beneith the rubber boots connected to the spark plug wire. I know this is not your question, but I bought a 2000 528i with 68K miles in almost perfect condition. So with a 1998 I really would not but anything with more than 90K miles...

Its located in the air intake tube - to locate it, begin at the air filter box and look a few inches behind the box - its the first thing you'll see with wires coming out of it. Its very easy to remove and clean.

You will know if you have a leaky water pump because it will be leaking coolant out of the water pump.

The 2005 Toyota 4Runner has 24 valves.

According to a Toyota, they began installing the LATCH system in the 4Runner beginning with the 2003 model.

The gearbox drain is at the bottom of the gearbox and the filler plug is halfway up the lefthand side. Use Gear oil. If you mean the auto transmission fluid, this drains from the plug at the base of the rectangular pan and fills with auto transission fluid via the dipstick tube

lower the glove box by pushing the tabs in on the side of the box. then the filter is right there just unclip the box and slid it out.

Open the rear hatch and look directly behind the bulb on the inside of the compartment. You will find a small snap-off door, open it. Reach in and twist off the bulb plug to reveal the light assembly. Pull out the bulb and replace with a new same type bulb and replace everything.

The jack and tire-changing tools should be located in one of the side compartments in the trunk area(behind the back seats). There should be a removable door in the side wall back there. If no tools are there, then the previous owner must have kept them.

It sounds like the plastic gear on the window regulator has broken. disengaging the window from the levers... I had a 1990 240sx that had the same problem. You have to take the door panel off and replace the window regulator.... I would recommend painting all the internal linkage and window screws before you take them off, this way you will know where to reposition the window and linkage to avoid adjusting later... If you window motor is turning and the window goes up part of the way but stops. But can be pulled all the way up by hand it is the motor. It has a rubber cog inside the assembly and the steel shaft from the motor rips through the rubber cog and just spins. I orded a regulator and it ended up being the motor. My car has a sheet draped over the door so cats won't get in there and piss in it tonight... but the motor and the regulator. Don't be cheap....get both of them in the first place. The air inlet temperature sensor is found inside the intake of a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. More specifically it is located near the air box where the filter is.
