remove the case for the switches then use a volt meter to see if you have power at the switch...then if you have power at the switch you must check the motor for operability....you can use toy car battery charger or some thing that will give power to the motor directly to see if will work that way...if the motor won't spin from direct power then it is no good...plus keep it simple look for a bad fuse...which you probabley already did...good luck

If you know the coil is good then the Igniter is bad. It is right below the coil.

The car needs to be raised and needs to be level. You have to get under car and look for a plug on transmission. Should be adjacent to oil drain plug. Remove plug and Fluid should drip out if fluid level is correct.

they didnt come that way! AE101 went from the 93 to 97 model year. all had 1.6l 4afe engines (the e on the end means electronic fuel injection) the AE102 had a 1.8l 7afe. i would never bother to try and see if it would fit, that fuel system was garbage!

There are 2 slots at the bottom edge of the trim ring surrounding the radio and the vents -- wiggle a screwdriver into each of them and gently pop the trim ring loose. Work your way around to the sides and top with your fingers and the whole vent/radio trim ring will come away. 3 connectors hold the buttons/clock on, but you have enough slack to get the panel up and over. Just did this now myself, so i can vouch for it. Dan

Most parts on '90-'92 Prizms and '89-'92 Corollas are interchangeable, from what I've seen. I know for a fact that pretty much everything under the hood are exactly the same. The part numbers for the lock cylinders on the front doors are the same as those of a Corolla, and the GM dealership here orders the parts from Toyota. My answer would have to be a tentative yes. If that's not certain enough for you, you could always try going to either a GM or Toyota dealership and asking for yourself.

The knock sensors are located underneath the intake. There are actually two knock sensors one front (KS1) and one in rear (KS2).

On my 1995 Corolla, it is on the back side of the EVAP unit, which is attached to the left (driver side) of the engine block.
Another way to locate it is by following the thin vacuum line from the charcoal cannister at the left rear of the engine compartment, this line enters the TVV (Thermal Vacuum Valve) that extends out of the EVAP unit.
Perhaps the 97 is setup the same way, but I'm not certain.
