Where is the door switch on a mk3 vw golf?
If it has power door locks it's in the power door lock asm. It is activated when the latch moves to the locked position. Just removed mine to replace the switch so still on the bench.
I bought one on Ebay for £34 with courier delivery £40.00. Mobile mechanics will not charge you as much as a service station either.
Once fitted it will take a couple of start and stops of your engine before the ECU reconises the new sensor.
I did mine on Friday and it took less than 30min.
Hope this helps, Colin.
GOLF OIL SENSOR WORKSHOPYou need to buy and fit a new sensor, it is fitted to the bottom of your oil sump, you need to drain out your oil first, and require Allen keys to remove the 3 cap bolts securing the sensor. If you are not good with Car DIY, it will have to be done by a mechanic.I bought one on Ebay for £34 with courier delivery £40.00. Why does a rotating fan blade look like its stationary at times?
your eye can only see about 24 frames per second. so when a rotating fan rotates with 24 rounds per resond or 48 rounds per second and so on, your eye will take a "picture" of the fan at excatley the same spot. Your brain then put these immages after each other an you wil see a rotating fan witchs looks like it isn't rotating. I hope you understand my English;P and I hope this answer helps.
Where is the engine speed sensor on a golf GTI MK 4?
On 1.8T motors the engine speed sensor is on the lower part of the engine block on the driverside. It is held in my one Allen head bolt. It should have about a foot of cable which leads to where it plugs into the wiring harness of your car under the intake manifold.

How do you change a front indicator bulb on a VW Golf MK5?
As you open the bonnet and look into the back of the light you will see a black tab like appendage there, quite low down (directly below the "flash", high beam side) but clearly visible, there will not be any wires connected to this and it wouldn't be obvious that the bulb is behind this! All you need do is twist and pull, viola there on the end of the appendage is the bulb and can be changed over quickly just as any normal indicator.

How do you change keyless remote battery on a 2001 vw golf?
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2124048
Took me less than 2 minutes!! :p
I'm still trying to figure out the reset procedure, but for the battery R&R: The remote first comes apart into halves, pulling apart lengthwise. You can start the process by: flicking out the metal key part, inserting approx. 1/4" slotted screwdriver tip in the slot that divides the recess crossways in the middle, gently twisting the screwdriver. Once the two halves have started to separate, pull them the rest of the way by hand. Next, the whole back cover (away from the buttons) comes off. It starts easily if you gently pry up with that same screwdriver and that same twisting motion along the gasket between the back cover and the body, starting at the once-hidden end near the part number, FCC ID, etc. Work your way gently around the edge being careful not to mar the gasket. Once the cover is off you will be looking at the (-)NEG side of a CR2032 coin battery (in my case anyways...). As I said, still trying to get the car to recognize the key. I'll post again if/when I figure it out. Good luck!
How do get rid of your golf slice?
There are so many causes of a slice that it's impossible to say. The real slice is from hitting the ball with an open clubface. This is usually caused by hitting the ball before the clubhead has caught up with the hands, although a weak grip that hinders closing the clubface is also a major contributor. Hitting off the toe will also cause the ball to go in the slice direction. There are probably more cures than players. "Seek professional help" is the best answer, because the only way to figure out why you slice is to have someone who knows what to look for watch you swing. That being said, how can I resist offering my own advice? I find that if I swing smoothly, without trying to kill the ball with my arms, I am much less likely to slice. And I hit the ball a mile. The only way I can guarantee I won't slice, however, is to play a hole with all the trouble on the hook side. (This notice provided for the humor impaired: that was a joke.)
