Choke linkage holds the throttle cable for a higher idle speed while cold.
When you step on gas after choke is warmed up the throttle cable is released from the little cam type plate that has steps on it and allows the the cable to return to t's normal position.
Sounds like the idle is set too low.

How do you install sun visor on 1974 volkswagen beetle?
Look up on the headliner, real close to the front of the door. You should find a fairly good-size hole with two smaller holes, one to the front of the big hole, the other to the back of it. (If you don't, feel around on the headliner until you find the hole in the metal piece under the headliner, because someone replaced the headliner without cutting holes for the visors--which means YOU have to do it.) That's where the sunvisor goes. Stick the shank of the sunvisor in the big hole and attach it to the ceiling of your car with two screws.

How do you fix a leaky roof gutter?
To repair leaky gutters, first remove debris and wash out the gutters with water. Apply gutter seam sealant to gutter seams, exposed nail/screw heads, and minor holes as needed (Purchase gutter seam sealant at your local home improvement store. It looks like a large tube of toothpaste). Replace any section of gutter that is pitted or rusted through. Make sure that all gutter sections are secured properly to the fascia boards. Replace any rotted fascia boards as needed. Install drip flashing around all roof edges. Fill gutters with water using a garden hose to check for leaks and proper drainage. Next time it rains watch the gutters for leaks and overflows. If water overflows the gutters, then you may need to adjust the slope towards the downspouts and or add additional downspouts. In addition, I recommend installing larger downspouts that will help prevent gutter overflow. Install downspout extensions to divert water away from the house structure. Hope this helps, Ken PS- Be careful not to fall off the roof or ladder when you are servicing gutters!
