Its possible. ATF or automatic transmission fluid has alot of detergents in it and can clean deposits off internal engine parts. example would be to use one quart of atf with your oil

Your Acura may have an automatic coolant temperature switch which activates your condensor (auxillary fan) fan to operate while the car is parked if the coolant temperature is to high, say 205 degrees. Once it reaches, lets say 195 degrees it will automatically shut off. The factory has a preset off and on temp switch that controls the aux fan, when to start and when to stop. To make sure your vehicle is equipped with this type of aux fan control open the hood and look by the aux fan to see if a warning label is present. It will say, "Caution, fan may start when vehicle is turned off." Or simply check your vehicles owner manual. If the fan stays on to long and drains the battery down so that you can't start it, then its time to take it to your favorite mechanic.

You should use a thermostat gasket along with the thermostat housing ring. The gasket should be replaced every time the thermostat housing is opened.

check your fluid levels, some vehicles will need brake bleeding but some may have brake sensors which that light that is lit up on your dash is for when the brakes were replaced the sensor may not be installed correctly go back and replace the sensor

It is called the "vehical speed sensor". If i remember correctly it about $35 dollars at rhe parts store. This sensor will make your car not shift out of first or hold out first a lot longer, and at times you may not have a speedo. It is located on the tranny directly below the intake manifold. This is a hard one. I crawled on top of my car and laid the side of my face on the maniflold. please do this when its cold. Arms on both sides till you find this thing sticking out at a 45 degree angle pointing twards the driver seat. Its only one bolt 10mm, I think. finding where that bolt goes back without being able to see it is the hard part. Good luck 20 minutes for me.

The emergency flashers are located on the dash above the A/C controls. It appears as a bright red rectangle. Just push to turn on push to turn off.

Check BRAKE fluid level. Or is it a "tail lamp" warning? Y-THINK-Y

you can use 10w30 oil or 10w40 either one will work

The 1989 Acura Legend radiator fan switch can be found on the inside of the quarter panel. You can find the switch on the drivers side quarter panel.

Timing belt diagrams for a 1989 Acura Legend are available at local auto part stores. Service repair manuals also carry them.

My 94 had the same problem. Had to replace cluster. Got one off ebay for $40.

go back and pretend like your taking your alternator out...but don't actually remove anything... ..an old trick to double check all the harness connectors...you may have accidentally disconnected something withouth realizing it... make sure all the wires are also connected to the RIGHT places... ...not fixed? forget you ever did anything and approach it like a "no-start"(get outside the box) read the diagnostics in a manual..(spark, etc, as you may have fried something.... good luck, also everyone should have a manual for their vechicle, and the library should have a professional shop manual available in the reference section for FREE to make copies of--the PRO manual has more detailed info, and may have wiring diagrams when needed...read up and fix 'em like a PRO...good luck Dave :)

"S" stands for sport. In this setting, the transmission has higher thresholds for upshifts and downshifts a lot faster. There are 2 sport settings, S3, which only goes up to 3rd gear and it is useful for driving on hilly terain, and S4 which is like drive, but with higher thresholds.
