- I have a '99 Ford F-150 4.8 Liter V8, and this seems to have fixed the problem. It began as an intermittant problem and has gotten progressively worse over the past couple of months. - I thought I had checked the relevant fuses on my Ranger truck, but missed the one for brake-Emergency Flashers. My flashers were on - the button in the extended position when the fuse blew. Because the fuse went I didn't know the flasher was still in the on position. Therefore the turn signals and brake lights didn't work. It wasn't until I got the flasher in the off position that the turn signals started working again.

- Good Morning! Let me echo the repair of the WD40. I had the same symtems of turn signals, flashers not working. Checked all the fuses. Went to Auto Zone to seek advise, They called FORD for me (really nice guys here in Warren, Pa) Ford pointed them/me to a light processcor that costs in excess of $200. A dealer only part) Auto Zone then suggested for me to access the web and seek out like problems which I did. Thank you to the original poster of this issue and Auto Zone. Several squirts and I worked the switch...and presto...everything started working again! No cost at all to fix this prob. I already has the WD40!

From the inside of the engine bay, looking down on the headlight that needs the bulb, look at the back of the headlight, it should have a plastic ring where the bulb is held in place inside the headlight, turn this ring carefully to loosen it, then gently pull out the bulb socket and wiring connector, unsnap the plastic retaining clip from the wiring socket, and out comes the bulb.

Where is the Daytime Running Light Module specifically located for a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
The Daytime Running Lights module (DRL) is located behind and below the radio in all Gen 1 Neons (at least the Canadian versions). Remove the console faceplate by just pulling it off. Remove the Radio with a 10 mm socket. You may be able to continue without unplugging the radio, but it's easier to access if you do.
The DRL is bolted on an angle to the lower rear of where the radio sits. Two 10 mm bolts also hold it in place, you will be easily able to see the left hand one.. the right will be more difficult. Both can be accessed by inserting your 10 mm socket on and extension through the bolt access holes under the radio housing. Be careful not to lose the bolts when you've released them, as fishing them out from the shifter console will be annoying at best!
The DRL is connected by one large rectangular connector... it just unclips and pulls off. You will lose your daytime running lights and High Beam indicator once removed, however all other headlight functions will remain.

Hydrocarbons are part of pollution emitted as gasoline evaporates. Going a step farther, one facet of the emission system is the "Evaporative" portion. This is when the fumes from the gasoline are leaking from the system into the outside air. This is one part of the emission system that can trigger a check engine light. I would say that about 7% of the vehicles that have a check engine light are the result of a loose or inadequate gas cap. But understand that many scenarios are possible with the "check engine light" The vehicle's powertrain computer (note that some vehicles have 17 different computers) will run a series of self-tests. They will only run under certain criteria. And they can be vastly different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some self-tests are not run until preceding ones have run successfully. So if there is a problem in one particular area that is preventing another self test from running, you can have a situation where one problem is fixed, but another still exists. If you fix a problem and drive the car through a drive cycle that sets the monitor (or self test) the light will go off as it passes that criteria that triggered it in the first place. After 1996, the auto industry went to a idea called OBD II (on board diagnostics). This was to get all the manufacturers onto a similar plane for troubleshooting and powertrain control. While they still differ vastly, many corrections and adaptations were made for technicians to better fix the check engine light problems. Prior to this there were so many different and poor troubleshooting data from a check engine light problem that resolving the problem was much more difficult. Many early warning light of this nature were set to illuminate based on mileage. An Oxygen sensor was one of the things that were meant to be replaced when that mileage was hit. In order to change any of the tail light bulbs in a Chevy Celebrity it is necessary to remove the light fixture:
1. Inside the trunk next to the quarter panel there are three nuts. Remove the center nut on the side you want to remove. It should line up with the center of the light fixture.
2. Pull the fixture out until the stud clears the body.
3. Pull gently outward to pull a tab out of the backup light fixture.
4. Unlock the appropriate socket and remove from the fixture. Change the light bulb and reassemble.

try the lights, do they turn on? if yes, then it probably isn't the battery. if its the starter motor, you should hear a loud clicking sound from the engine when you turn the key in the ignition. if this is the problem, turn the car off, open the door, stand on the sill at the side of the car while holding the edge of the roof and rock the car. if the car starts after this - its your starter.
If your starter was bad your car would not even crank. If its your battery the starter will click repeatedly.

This is not too difficult. I have three 1990 Reattas so have done this a couple of times. Look in the Owners Manual to get the correct bulb, the dealer may or may not have it but auto supply places such as Auto Zone do, it cost about $10, it is not just a bulb, it is a small module with the bulb in it. Repalcing this bulb is almost like changing the oil. You'll have to crawl under the front bumper and remove 2 screws from the 3-inch splash guard so you can get the splash guard out of the way, you do not have to remove the entire splash guard. Then just reach up to the turn-signal bulb module and pull it out, it may take a little wiggling to get it out if it has been there for a number of years. Then put in the new module. Once you buy the replacement module and look at it, it becomes obvious what to do and which of the many lights is the turn-signal. The smaller the fingers, the easier it is to do as it is a tight fit. If you have a big hand with larger fingers, it may be more difficult. It took me 30+ minutes the first time I did it as I had to figure out what to do, but the last time ( 6 months ago) it took about 10 minutes.

sounds like your starter, some times if you get under neath the car and hit the starter a few times with a rubber mallet or a hammer. It will break free if its froze up, but if it won't turn over after doing that then your starter is toast. If the starter goes it sometimes takes out the battery too. so you might need a new one as well.
