Where is the emergency fuel shut off on a 2001 Chevy Suburban?
It does not have one. You have to remove the fuel pump relay.
Probably a dead battery but you may wish to check your battery terminals for corrosion.
It could be a poor connection from the battery to the starter, a problem with the keyswitch, a problem with the connectors between the keyswitch and the starter solenoid or a problem with the neutral lockout switch. I have had problems for over a year with starting my 2002 Alero & have had it towed numerous times, only to be told later that it started fine for the mechanic. I searched on-line and saw that this was a common problem & noted nearly 20 different solutions proposed. Yet, none of them appeared to be successful, and--like many other owners--I was ready to sell the car. Well, I have finally solved the mystery & you will be amazed at how simple (and inexpensive!) the solution turns out to be. Simply detach your car key from all other keys. That's it! For some reason, having additional keys attached somehow interferes with ignition. This also explains why the damn car would always start for the mechanics--I only left them the single key! (I'd begun to think that the towing process somehow fixed the problem...) So, give it a try! I sincerely hope that this trick works for all you frustrated Alero owners out there--
Why would the fuse box buzz in a 2003 ford expedition and engine won't start?
It is the PCM relay. I have the same problem and when we pull it out it has melted spots on it and is hot. Put a new one in and it starts right up. However, sometimes it lasts 2 months, sometimes just a day. Haven't found out root problem yet but this is a quick fix. We keep a new relay in the console at all times.
I have had the exact same problem, except now the fuse box is getting burnt so bad the relay is not making good contact. New fuse box is probably the next step. And an expensive one I am sure
You should hear a click sound from the starter solenoid, that is a relay that switches the high current connection from the battery to the starter when you turn the ignition switch. That would click unless battery is dead or has really bad connection and isn't getting voltage. Most often problem with starter motor turning is bad cable connection at the battery, especially if there is recent damp weather, usually owners who don't know importance of good connection. I remove the battery cables whenever slight problem turning, and clean the battery post with sandpaper and on clean on inside of cable connector. Make all areas shinny, and don't think it doesn't matter to do carefully as it does have affect. If working on motor recently, it must have ground cable to car frame for starter to work. The old system to test if starter is to short with screwdriver from hot battery cable that attaches to starter connection, short that to the lead that goes into the starter motor but use care not to ground any part of that procedure (always took a little nerve in old days too), maybe better info on that on internet. Some Fords have starter solenoid separate and mounted on fender well or like place, which might be easier to work on, keep searching forums for advice (how rest of us fix cars now).
Why does a 95 Mazda Millenia shut off when put in gear?
Perhaps the transmission/torque converter is engaged and preventing the motor from spinning. B Clear.
AnswerI had same problem, It was the ignition module. car ran fine in neutral,as soon as i put car in gear it would stall. AnswerI would check the neutral safety switch on the top of the transmission. It costs around 100 dollars so be sure that's what it is before buying one. I would try to get a used one if possible. The switch doesn't allow the car to crank in gear. If the switch is bad it could work in reverse......ITS A LONG SHOT.....BUT COULD BE A PART OF THE PROBLEM.....John ReidHattiesburg Mississippi
AnswerI am having the same intermittent problem. My mechanic cleaned and lubricated the idle motor to prevent it from sticking. So far, this seems to have corrected the problem. How do you change the starter on a Ford F150 truck?

How do you disable the factory kill switch in a 1997 Ford Ranger?
Get a repair manual for your truck, because you will need to cut the wires out of the ignition switch, and bypass the alarm.
I replaced the battery in my 1993 sundance noe the starter will not ingage
What is wrong with Ford Explorer if it won't start even after trying to jump start?
Easy take it into a car shop like Crossroads..
What s if the battery is good but the car won't start?
Won't start and won't turn over are 2 different things. If it will not turn over then look at the starter or ignition switch.
Your car wont start no lights turn on not even with a fully charged battery its a 1984 olds cutlass?
first check all your fuses. then check the ignition switch There are one or two fuses few know about. I learned the hard way. There is a fuse "link" in the wire lead from the starter battery post to the engine wiring circuits. If you jump off a vehicle but reverse the battery plus and minus cable - you can blow this fuse and sometimes the alternator diodes and heavens knows what else. Check for 12 volts on your alternator battery post. Not there ? Go find the bad connection from the starter to there or the fuse link may be blown. LOL
In a four-stroke engine the timing gears control?
The gears keep the cam timing in sequence with the crankshaft. So the valves open when their suppose to and no damage occurs from valve to piston clearances.
Where is the fuel filter located on a 2002 Nissan Sentra?
What can you do if the anti-theft system is engaged on a 1994 Buick LeSabre and the car won't start?
The car uses keys ("Pass-Key II" is simply a GM VATS key)with a security chip. The chip is actually just a resistor with one of 15 possible values (the resistance determines GM's numerical value). If the lock in the steering column does not make proper contact with the chip, the wrong value is sent to the security module and the car will not start (Security light ON). There are two methods to prevent the car from operating: 1) there is a relay in the starter circuit controlled by the security module. 2) The security module sends an AC signal to the computer to enable the computer, no signal, no run. My simple fix was to locate the wires to the switch, two small wires in a plastic jacket, unlike any other wires exiting the steering column, and modify the circuit. Cut the cable and solder in a resistor of the same resistance as the chip in a key. Google found instructions on adding a remote start to vehicles with this system. The car then runs, but the extra security of the chip is lost, but on a car that is not 10+ years old??
you have a loose ground.....wiggle the ground cable at battery, and see if you "make contact".....then tighten up accordingly..
Vauxhall frontera help no ignition lights car turns over but will not start?
check your fuses check ignition switch
I had this same problem. It was the Neutral Safety Switch. It had worn out. Pretty simple not very expensive if I remember correctly.
The ignition on your car is stuck and you can not start your car?
Is the steering lock on? Jiggle the wheel when you turn the key.

Starter clicks will not engage?
Seized engine? Weak or dead battery? Loose or corroded battery cables? Flat spot on starter motor? Bad starter solenoid? Bad neutral or clutch safety switch? Bad ignition switch?
Why would a 96 Dodge Stratus make a clicking sound when you try to start it?
Cleaqn tha battery cables and make sure there is a good ground between the engine and body. Also the battery could be bad. First of all, make sure you dont have a dead battery. Second, make sure when the car is on, that the alternator is working and recharging the battery. If the connection to the starter motor is loose then your car will just click and no turn over. If the car does not start, then it could be merely anything... but if your car does start and it is clicking then you have a lifter problem, often found with most 1996-97 Dodge Vehicles, including the Stratus and the Earlier Caravans. This is not serious, but can be annoying.
